9:00 I would have added the scene where Mr. X decides to choke Leon instead of crushing his skull after you get the key card. Mr. X had no issue crushing Ben's skull.
OP have you noticed this in the third oerson RE engine games? The crosshair aiming in these games are arrogantly lazy in design. > The crosshair and barrel don't align at all. And there is a floaty lag when you move your aim. > Bullets just magically bend towards the center of the screen. In the original, the laser beam was synced with the barrel at all times, and even had a path that showed collision based on depth.

15:00 Me: Leon The wall: Every chance I get at living a happy life I enjoyed watching this video. It was basically a comparison to the original and the remake and a mashup from other UA-camr's critisizing the changes. I had a lot of fun with the remake, but aesthetically and narrative wise, OG RE4 is superior. Also, dont worry about the grammatical error you made with the word genetic. We all know you meant to say generic.
The only thing I don’t agree with is the remake castle being a 10/10 but otherwise phenomenal video I’ve been waiting for this since your re 2 remake vid
I'll excuse the option to block chainsaws with a knife after discovering that it also turns its motor off. At which point you could continuously stunlock them so they'll never get the chance to rev their chainsaws back on again. They don't involuntarily shield their head with their chainsaw while walking towards you ether, unless they get the motor running again first.
people like self defence mechanism because its fun and in formally they moved to stiff and slowly, and its already inconsistent because your timing needs to be on point
There's a bit of a contradiction in criticizing both the realism of the remake (gun sway, less precise and snappy shooting, more recoil) and calling the chainsaw parry ridiculous. Everything about RE4 was over the top and ridiculous and the chainsaw parry is in keeping with that. It's exciting, tense, unrealistic. Exactly what we should want more of from a proper RE4 remake. And I'm not saying the parry mechanic is above criticism, but if youre going to let me parry enemies, than yeah let me do some cool super-soldier shit similar to backward suplexing a villager or knocking a crowd back with one roundhouse kick!
Amen, someone who is a OG re fan, and who knows how bad these remakes are. Changes cut content and more. Please do a video on all the remakes 🖤. Most of all. THANK YOU. for saying the horror was lost at re4 🖤. Capcom milking the RE name. And I would like to here your review on 😑 that thing they call re7 and re8 ,( that save the resident evil game). All Capcom have to do is give us the re games in new graphics
1:07:48 that's the one thing I don't agree with, the Remake version is the closest thing we got to the movie, from the design to the way it plays out, and also has a context to it rather than just being a corridor with lasers. Yes the deaths are not explicitly displayed but even that is a HUGE effort coming from Capcom, considering how lazy they were in others aspects. The 2005 version was pretty much its own thing while being a callback to the movie. Other than that, most of the points in the vid are onto something, how remake is soulless, the downgrades, Crowbcat already covered this. The problem with these remakes is how Capcom's notion of "modernizing" their classics is wrong, all that to appeal to a new generation of players. I consider Separate Ways to be the only good thing from the remake. I wish they could stick to the model of RE1R, it was the way to go back then in terms of remakes.
what is the deal with supposed RE fans spending hours upon hours upon hours talking about story stuff when the games have literally never been about those things? yeah RE has amazing memorable characters with personality and unique looks and stuff but it was always about the games themselves, the level design genius of the original trilogy that pioneered the survival horror genre or the Aura and atmosphere/generation defining 3rd person mechanics of RE4 that essentially created an off shoot "action horror" genre. RE4 didnt sell because it has this gripping narrative, it sold cause when you popped in that disc into ur gamecube or ps2 it fucking SLAPPED and re4 remake, sorry to disappoint the inhabitants of contrarian city but it also fucking SLAPS. in survival horror, mechanical depth is all that is needed at its core, its a very simple genre that unfortunately has been misunderstood since 1996 time and time again. Nobody really gives 2 fucks if leons dialogue is ass if you're letting us parry 700 villagers into the gulag with cheesy one liners. its just as cringe as when people try to analyse devil may cry in the same sense which is funny because both re4 and dmc1 are the same fucking game, 2 cool dudes who wanna be cool. I'm dude, im cool. Fuck off with this needless analysis of shit nobody really cares about, given that both the re2 and re4 remake are some of capcoms most successful games ever.
So not true. Resident Evil 4 Remake is even better then the original in this case. If you disbelief you can check out Metascores on PTR and Gamescores from different player bases. I m very satisfied how they made Resident Evil 4 in the modern engine. I m not a fan of live action horror gameplay but in this case RE4 is a true Masterpiece , same goes for SH2 Remake very very similar in comparison.
Personally i never liked the og game played through it 4 or 5 times and never quite fell in love with it as i have with the first 3 games perhaps because the re 4 controls felt weird and imprecise both on pc and console. I never had problem with the og trio tank controls they felt sharp precise but re 4 felt loose extremely so, i always tried so hard to love 4 as others do but i i never really did, The remake was a welcomed change with pc friendly controls, However i mostly agree with the video but some of the stuff felt extremely nitpicky.

Ashley in the remake is one of the biggest dumbasses in gaming history.
The fact that you didn't recommend the electric underground video is criminal. That is the definitive RE4 remake review for me
His review is so good, I tried the chainsaw demo after it and he is right about a lot

I should've added that but maybe next time when i remake the video again.👍
they ruined re4 remake by this so called "realism " ¬_¬

@ResidentReveler yeah when I was editing my project on the gun sound design comparison, I noticed the aiming is poor.
