Great vid! Does box state where this Energizer was produced or engines country of origin? Keep us updated on reliability as you continue to put this Engergizer genny to the test.
Looks like a nice unit. I use a Harbor FT. Predator 3500 Watt inverter generator at my off grid TN home. It has over 500 hours so far runs great. I have used it many times at its 25 amp limit no issue's I also have the older 2500 watt unit that was discontinued ,runs great also. Plus a 7000 watt 220 volt Harbor FT. unit almost 11 years old still runs like new. Thanks for showing this unit.
My brother and I have the 7000 continuous, 8750 surge from Harbor Freight for the the last 4 yrs and not an issue so far, "Knock on Wood" lol. www.harborfreight.com/engines-generators/gas-engine-generators/8750-max-starting7000-running-watts-13-hp-420cc-generator-carb-with-gfci-outlet-protection-63087.html
Always amazing how much easier things are getting. I was really amazed how it started on a single pull. I remember those old generators where they seemed to give you your full cardio workout for the day trying to get them going. Thanks for the nice video.
Top tip; when using a holesaw, first drill a 3/8" or 1/2" hole or few just inside the circumference line and it helps to clear the waste and prevents burning and clogging of the teeth, particularly in a drill press (or pillar drill as we call them in Britain), when you're drilling dead square to the surface. I've been a cabinet maker and joiner for over 30 years and only saw that tip recently. Makes it much easier. Otherwise, as shown, rocking the cutter as you drill by hand also helps if the hole doesn't need to be accurate.
If you look at time stamp 1:09 step 3 says hook up the battery. there is your instruction telling you to step one, add gas. Step two add oil. Step 3 hook up the battery.
On the tag that was on your gas tank, the third direction was to hook up the battery. First was gas, second was oil and third is the battery. I saw that when you unboxed it.
that instruction tag under the gas cap says to add gas, add oil and connect the battery for electric start. i like the generator. worth giving it a try.
I have not had experience with the Energizer generator but I really love the Honda 3000 generator we have. So quiet we can stand right beside it and have a conversation yet it runs a lot of things around the house.
The generator has passed all the tests and looks great, save one test that is still pending ! ...the longevity test ! - You're a great carpenter, Jeremy ! Looking forward to watching your new house-build !
Hell of a gift , little over a grand on Amazon , the battery that comes with that gen is pretty cheap and will go dead fast , if youre going let it set for a while , pull the battery and hook it to a solar trickle charger . and the battery hook ups themselves will put a trickle charge to it while running , in a pinch you could make little jumper cables and charge another battery with it if you misplace the 12v charging cable that came with it
There is a very nice cozy feeling having a whisper quiet - clean power - inverter generator around .. I have two of them, 2200 and 2300 and a good 10 gauge cord feeding building through a 12 gauge three way splitter. I keep about fifteen gallons of stabilized gas on hand which will give me many days of power during an outage. Thanks for excellent demo .. I really like the "ultra quiet" sound of that Energizer inverter.
I had the Honda 2000i like the one you had. The Honda is much more portable and Really Really quiet. I noticed you didn’t speak while this generator was running but you can still have a conversation with the Honda running. All that noise would give me a headache very soon. The Honda had enough power to run the tools you used. For me the HONDA WINS HANDS DOWN. Where yours wins though is it’s FREE! I can’t argue free is best.
2 things I noticed that were not pointed out: 1-All the panel screws are captured. So they don't get lost. 2-The Gas fill has a spill capture that directs the spillage away from the genny.
A lot of those filters come pre-oiled from the factory. Mine did. It's worth taking the time to touch it first and see if it's oily. They have a nice oil spray available for those filters.
It is a nice generator. One improvement is where the oil is added and checked. The cover is put on with screws requiring a screwdriver to open the cover to add or check oil or to clean the air filter. This would be annoying particularly for checking oil. I like to check the oil every time I start a small engine. I would suggest making the cover removable with wing nuts or other method that doesn't require a screw driver or tool to open them. This generator isn't large enough for a backup generator but is nice for a camper if it can meet the power requirements of the appliances in the camper. We have a 7000 watt continuous power output generator for backup power for our home. It will run everything as long as heavy draw appliances don't all run at the same time.
I wish I saw this sooner, I just bought a 3500W portable generator and I like it, it works great but I really like this one. Plus mine doesnt have a handle or wheels so Ill probably be making a little kart for it
A couple of people are complaining that it's gas. Being off grid for almost 9 years, I'd say it is fine as backup when multiple cloudy days have your batteries low. I use a cheap propane backup generator.... not to run the house, but to run two Iota 24v, 25A battery chargers to top off the batteries. It's enough to charge while running the house needs. Nice video, Nice project.
Jeremy ... 1:08 - 1:10 ... You may have missed it while you were doing the video, but, on the yellow tag attached to the gas cap, it does tells you to attach the battery. "Add gas, add oil, connect battery". I want to thank you for going through each step. That was VERY helpful. Also, I would not have known to "dress" the filter with oil, either. IIs there an oil gauge on it? Or does it have a dip stick? How do you know how much oil to put in?*
Thank you! A generator is the next large purchase on my agenda. I hope to have it before the snow flies. I did check out the price on the Energizer, and it's $1050. less than the Honda I had my eye on. *I have another question for you ... If I buy the Energizer, then somewhere down the road I buy a different brand, is it still possible to hook the two together?*
I’m not sure. It’s like a little junction box with 2 leads coming out of it for 2 generators but I don’t know if it works with other brands or is a standard type of connection. I’ve never had to parallel 2 together. This one will run our whole place by itself.
Recently bought a 3200 and just added an evp2000 to the stable to run in parallel for the RV. Impressed with the quality, low noise and ease of parralleling setup. With Honda you make seven connections, and the energizer needs only three and no tools required (Honda requires a tool for two connections). The price makes it a no brainer. My favorite generator of all time though, the Predator 4000. $290 on sale, light enough to move without a wheel kit, and noise level well within acceptable. The older ones were not parrallel capable, and thus I went with the energizer brand. (Spousal unit gets a great discount where she works and couldn't pass it up.)
Love the remote ... On when ya work, off when ya eat ... If you could find the antenna you could make it it's own she'd and run an antenna on the outside ... When it finally dies, convert it go run on steam ... Or a mini hydro ... Love the burn work and the kindling box ... Looked like the same battery we install with alarm systems ...
You have to love pocket screws, they are so handy for most projects. I would have put a coffee can radius on those sharp corners, routed all edges with roundover bit, and finished it inside as well as out for looks. But still, fine job. I enjoy watching your adventures on your property and good luck in all you do.
That's an excellent detail-by-detail unboxing, prepping, testing, and on-the-job demonstration of the Energizer generator. I'm sure you'll really get attached to it in no time at all. Thanks. : )
I love my little honda 1000 inverter, its converted to duel-fuel, its reliable, the real grunt comes from my 6000 watt chinese diesel, its a POS but puts out grunt.. please do a long term follow-up!
Those Honda generators are hard to beat and crazy reliable. I know people that have owned them for decades with no issues. I think I'd still get a Honda.
I'm late to the party on this video, but I thought I'd mention that this generator is also sold as a Hyundai, and both are designed and serviced by a Canadian company. I own the hyundai version, my father in law also has a hyundai, and he has like 400 hours on his with nothing but filter cleaning and oil changes, and it runs like a top. I've left mine running over night while camping and it was still running in the morning, so fuel use is pretty good.
There is a lot of similarity to the "Predator" design which probably copied someone else. If the generator has an overheat issue (hard use in the summer sun) adding air vents to the oil service cover might be an answer. Great video. I'm looking forward to your review after six months.
Let's do more builds ok? Lol. I enjoy watching your woodworking projects. Slow it down a little so I can see everything. Love the build. Generator is cool too.
I like the Lincoln big boy welder/generator. On the one hand you need a crane or backhoe loader to lift into place but on the other hand, for just $2,999.99 you get a beast of a 10 kW Generator that will run a whole house for 12 hours per tank of 5 gal gas (really? This heavy and they couldn’t go diesel?) or flip the switch and get a professional welder that will cut 1-1/4” steel or weld 1/8”-3/8” stick to weld anything from light sheet steel goods to heavy equipment. Lincoln hit a home run with a generator that will fit in my pickup to back up to the house hookup or go anywhere on the farm and weld anything, run anything!
Dude... that is awesome, and so beautiful!!! Thanks for the review and Jamie is sooooo blessed to have you around!!! I am envious of all your awesome tools!!!
Great info, thanks. I look forward to updates over the next couple of months. I will be ready to upgrade my current generator after the first of the year so I am researching my options. Nice firewood box Jeremy.
I like the finish on the outside as it helps to waterproof, but why didn't you do the inside and edges, where wet and damp logs might go? (Snow always gets where you don't want!😲.) 💜🌞🌵
At about 1:15 you show the tag that was on the gas cap and it mentioned "Connect the Battery" . Glad it was an SLA Battery not Lead Acid(like older generators were shipped with) and you then had to go to Auto Parts place to get the acid!Cool Wood Box Project too!
The automatic start is industry-leading for that size generator. However, for an inverter generator, it seems to me it is holding pretty high rpms at no load, which will consume more gas. The whole idea of an inverter generator is to rev down at no load and save fuel. Also, there is very little info on this model at present, and it remains to be seen how well it holds up. Many portable generators have trouble after a modest number of hours. I hope this one does well.
Another great demo! My brother was asking me about portable generators yesterday and bingo you posted a review... will share your video! fire book looking good!
nice looking genset. nice features. kinda loud but it says 57db noise rating. I just bought a 2000w suitcase model with some of the same features but no elec. start. well thought out design thanks.
I see the Honda / Yamaha fans are calling it and generators like mine junk because we don't pay 2 1/2 times the price for them. My Westinghouse 2200 I got on sale and with a coupon for $400 total and shipped to me. It really cranks out 1800 watts continuous like it claims and all tests I put it through it passed with flying colors. Then I hear, it will only last three or four years. Well, that remains to be seen however I could use it for four years, throw it away buy another one and still have $200 in my pocket and a nice new working generator for the price of a Honda that only puts out a true 1600 watts. If I figure shipping and taxes on the Honda where I live, I could actually throw the second one away buy a third Westinghouse and still not be paying anymore than those people with their 1600 watt continuous Honda. But if you love Honda or Yamaha and have the extra money. More power to you.
One of the things I’ve learned about generators Is if you’re going to store them for a length of time drain the fuel system or what I like to do is put that premixed that you buy in a can if they sell it at any of the hardware stores it’s like $20 for a 1 gallon I put about half a gallon in it and it doesn’t go bad or you have to put some kind of fuel stabilizer because what I learned is the fuel will gum up the system.
Great video. I love those little Generators but, That's a serious amount of cash considering you can buy one at Harbor Freight that is 7000 continuous, 8750 surge for 550.00.
Nice presentation. It's always nice to recieve free stuff but would you spend $1k of your own money on one? Couple of random thoughts... Without that screwdriver you'd be screwed. Why not just half turn thumbwheels. The funnel will be lost in 6 months. If it's going to require these tools to operate they should have a built in compartment for them. You guys do a great job, always a pleasure to watch and learn from your experiences!
Totally agree with you on the storage for necessary tools! So frustrating to have the off size allen wrench missing from something-I've taken to just taping the things, or zip tie, to the handle or cord.
I just had one of our viewers asking me my opinion of this generator...She must have watched your video :) I have the Honda 3000i and like it but I love the remote capability of your Energizer.
More important than the product, is the dealer network along with the amount and type of parts they stock along with the frequency the units have to be serviced. Price and features have little significance if the units require more service. I would look into who makes the unit, wheter it is Midland Power or they have them built in China, for example.
Great work Jeremy. Your tools sure make the job easy. I want to try the char stain. I like the gen too. Those fobs are a neat added bonus. Great for our farmstead.
I'm going to have to look into the his one. I like the higher amperage with this unit. Two remotes make it easy to start when you need to without going outside or wherever the unit is installed. I will be interested in your experience using it. I just checked online and it's $100 more at a local supplier than at the manufacturers site. It may be shipping differences. Anyway, I was looking for a generator and this looks promising. Thanks for sharing!
I'm really enjoying your Sunday videos (like all your video's). I also enjoy your sponsored video's. I've been looking at portable generators for a long time, and really appreciated your video on the Energizer generator (are you still loving it?).. Also, love the meal ideas.. Plan on making the vegetable/meat pie tomorrow night. My mom used to make a meat pie out of ground beef, without the veggies.. Adding the veggies sounds very delish!
Be sure to change the oil in short order. Mine had brass metal flake in the oil. Don't stress. My generator is still running strong two years later. BTW....Chinese.
Nice review and step by step. Just note that the 10% ethanol gas mix is what you are buying at almost any gas station. I know of one gas station in my area (actually about 30 minutes away) that doesn’t have 10% ethanol mix.
Right but I add Stabil to all my small engine gas cans. You can buy ethanol free gas at some stations but most all boat marinas sell it also. Ethanol in boats is a no no.
Ethanol absolutely ruins small engine carbs. I have worked on small engines for every type of equipment and since they introduced that crap into the gas, I have noticed at least 4 times the ''My engine runs like junk" quote from customers. Good for me but bad for most. I use the Green Marine Stabil. It's supposed to be better than the red ? If I have to put a tool away for more than 3 months, I will fill tank completely full with treated 2 stroke gas, run for 10 minutes, shut off gas and run till it dies. I use the 2 stroke mix even on 4 strokes because the oil keeps any metal from rusting and the piston/rings lubed for the long storage.
Odd, they specify the high priced 91 octane for the 3200 watt (which is only 2800 watt continuous) but for the smaller one they don't specify the needed octane. The majority of people run the 87 octane gasoline in their automobiles so that would be a bummer. I would imagine the larger one would run ok on 87 octane too but then you might run into warranty problems.
Oiled, foam air filters work very good. Almost too good ! They require frequent maintenance. If you have a lot of sand/dust blowing around, you will probably need to clean it once a week.
How do you stop your chickens flying away? Those gel cells die when they're allowed to go flat so always keep them full folks. I like the remote control. Ideal for remote locations. Can you get remote controlled chickens? You heard it here first.
like the genset. your firebox is big enough for 14 to 16 hrs in my normal sized house. it would need to be around 8" higher for 24 hrs for me. I restoke every four hours. Haven't yet though, fall 2018.
I LOVE the look of the shoshoogybooty style. I think it’s gorgeous even if I can’t spell it or say it! 🤣🤣 Jeremy you really are a handy craftsman. Love it! TFS! Blessings always ~Lisa
Not a fan of having to have a special contraption for filling the oil. Just means you have to store it and keep up with it...different design option would have alleviated that. But other than that it seems to be a pretty solid machine.
good video just want to say one thing i am of grid and purchased a new generator from home depot with all the bells and whistles real nice for 3 weeks took it back (full tank of gas) asked to change to a honda and they told me i have to have the same generator as a replacement. drove 1 hour home new one dead out of the box. dark and cold night, drove back in the morning gave them a hard time. my honda 2kw boring generator is still going strong 1 year later. the replacement had a full tank of gas. i think to test out a generator needs to include some months use as well or there is no value to a test. and a dead generator has no use.
Hey Guys keep up with the GREAT videos!!! Nice unboxing and demonstration, this gen has lots of outstanding features. Including remote start, good gas consumption, and ease of use. one thing i didn't notice in the video but may have been in there is does the gen ramp up from 25% eco mode to 100% and back down if required? Also does your climate where you live allow for cold climate testing as where I live it gets very cold in North Eastern Ontario, Canada. and would be interested in its operation then? Take care and keep safe, Kevin.
Yes it can be tuned for cold climate and higher altitude operation and yes the eco mode automatically ramps up to match the load like the Honda does. 👍🏻
Thank You so much for your prompt reply!!! I am definitely interested in this gen and will be watching for further reviews on your channel. Do you have a market link for products that you show in your videos so I can use your codes if I decide to purchase this gen in the future?
If you are interested in checking out the Energizer generator line, there are links in the description. What is your favorite generator and why? Have you tried the Energizer? Think you would? Leave your comments down below! Thanks for watching!
I actually have a question about the makita circular saw, what model is it and where did you get that rip guide?
I don’t know the model but it’s a 10” saw and awesome. I got the rip fence at Lowe’s a long time ago.
ok well thanx anyway but if you happen find out the "model number on saw" please let me know, it's really cool saw and btw yall have great videos!
It on the tag to connect battery. I seen when you showed the box.

Well picked up, i noticed that too...:)

Many of the electric start generators are designed to charge the battery when the generator is running.
Isn't it wonderful how our needs are always met?!?!? I love it!

connect battery behind this panel is at 1:08 cool vids you guys!
I liked watching the various steps in making your wood box. Neat how you made the handles.
Look at the tag around your gas cap, info for gas, oil and battery hook up.
"It weighs 100 lbs," while holding it with one hand. Hmmm, note to self, don't mess with Jeremy.
2 things I noticed that were not pointed out: 1-All the panel screws are captured. So they don't get lost. 2-The Gas fill has a spill capture that directs the spillage away from the genny.
What's a genny?
Well I learned something new today I did not know about oiling the air filter thanks for the tip.

Yeah I totally didn’t read that yellow tag 🙃. It has a little dipstick and takes .6 liters.

The EU2000 has a fuel shut off it's incorporated in with the on off switch. I've had mine for ten years and still fires up no problems.
Yes, reliability is my priority.
Nice video, I love the remote start on the generator but I'm a Honda man...
Nice! Love automatic start on a generator!
WOW Makes me want one for when lights go out or no propane. :) It is awesome!!!

Love that remote especially when using the generator as you were. Don’t have to leave it running.
That's an excellent detail-by-detail unboxing, prepping, testing, and on-the-job demonstration of the Energizer generator. I'm sure you'll really get attached to it in no time at all. Thanks. : )
I like that it comes with wheels. Looks like a nice rig. I just bought a Honda EB2800i.
14:45 don't even bother with stain, that looks fantastic!
15:45 fuel line purging too, that's handy.
I love my little honda 1000 inverter, its converted to duel-fuel, its reliable, the real grunt comes from my 6000 watt chinese diesel, its a POS but puts out grunt.. please do a long term follow-up!
Looks like a great generator. The remote start is really cool Seams fairly quiet. But you’ll never get a quieter generator then Honda.
I've been in the market for a generator, the smaller one is more in my price range. Thanks for the review, helpful as always !!
Those Honda generators are hard to beat and crazy reliable. I know people that have owned them for decades with no issues. I think I'd still get a Honda.
Looking forward to seeing the generator update. 💜🌞🌵

8:32 it's the extra things that make the difference. So far very impressed.
_Nice, a real-world test, and review of a generator._
I think Jeremy has a new toy! Look at that Expression on his face! Nice job Jeremy, and your pretty little helper Jaime,
There is a lot of similarity to the "Predator" design which probably copied someone else. If the generator has an overheat issue (hard use in the summer sun) adding air vents to the oil service cover might be an answer. Great video. I'm looking forward to your review after six months.
My little Honda Clone generator was recently stolen. I'll definitely take a look at this one.

Cool! 👍 Can't wait to hear an update in a few months. My husband and I have talked about getting a generator. Will keep this in mind.
Thank you! Love the remote! Awesome fire wood box too.
Makes my day so much better when y’all uploaded :)
Great review you guys. I knew nothing about generators even though we own a couple. I know more after watching than I did before. Thanks!
Nice build! Just round the corners off and it's a Winner! Great movie guys
Dude... that is awesome, and so beautiful!!!
Dog gone it Jeremy, I don’t need a new generator, but you made it look so good, I might have to get one.
Yeah I totally missed that!
Now that was a quality review! Curious to see if it holds up...
Like the variety of material on the channel, Jeremy
Looks like you are enjoying your new toy! Thanks for the videos.
WOW! That generator is awesomeness. And u built the wood box in record time lol
Great video. I love those little Generators but, That's a serious amount of cash considering you can buy one at Harbor Freight that is 7000 continuous, 8750 surge for 550.00.
That would work for construction site, but they make noise like a helicopter, this unit makes far less noise and can be used by RVers as well.
Nice touch with the torch ... all the best!
Another informative, well thought out video. Thanks for the demo. Looks like something I would like to check out.
You need to stop comparing it to the EU2000. The bunny generator is more like in the Honda EU3000 range.
Great work Jeremy. Your tools sure make the job easy. I want to try the char stain. I like the gen too. Those fobs are a neat added bonus. Great for our farmstead.
Shou Sugi Ban. It’s a Japanese style of preserving the wood. Looks cool too.
I have a Honda 2800 watt gen that I really like. I do not care for a battery on a gen that small. More to keep up with and maintain.
Cool, thanks for the demo/review. Hubs doing his research.
Thanks for the great air filter tip. Love your videos!!! The wood shed looks great!!
Be sure to change the oil in short order. Mine had brass metal flake in the oil. Don't stress. My generator is still running strong two years later. BTW....Chinese.
Thanks. Was wondering country of origin.
ANY Generator, Evan a Sol-er Generator (with batteries and converts) is Better than NOT Having one in a Power Outage.
great quality looking generator and kindling box, cool video!
Maybe someday we could stop using corn in our cars and go back to eating it and exporting it to hungry nations.
I really don't like the crunch of eating coal or sipping crude oil. Let's use them for fuel!
Wouldn’t that be nice? 👍🏻
Love how you are such a guy-guy! Give you a coffee cup and a butter knife...you can build a shopping mall! Love Grama. 😬
Wow. 102K subs! Good on you! 👍
Great review thank you! And thank you to whoever sent it! Will you be making another box for the porch too?
Already have a kindling box for the porch 👍🏻
The instructions to connect the battery was on the tag attached to the gas cap. @1:06
I missed that too!!
Man you have nice skin! The nutrition is definitely showing!
Excellent unboxing and first impression, I'm sold!!! LOL Nice box too! TY
Quality content as usual, keep up the good work
How do you stop your chickens flying away? Those gel cells die when they're allowed to go flat so always keep them full folks. I like the remote control. Ideal for remote locations. Can you get remote controlled chickens? You heard it here first.
like the genset. your firebox is big enough for 14 to 16 hrs in my normal sized house. it would need to be around 8" higher for 24 hrs for me. I restoke every four hours. Haven't yet though, fall 2018.
Wow, Great video and review, I will look forward to a follow up as you get some more use out of this. Thanks for showing all the features.
Thanks for this,, it helps to see stuff in action when your shopping for something that expensive good video
I LOVE the look of the shoshoogybooty style. I think it’s gorgeous even if I can’t spell it or say it! 🤣🤣 Jeremy you really are a handy craftsman. Love it! TFS! Blessings always ~Lisa
😂😂😂 #ShoShoogyBooty. You’re awesome. 😎❤️
Yes there are links in the video description under RESOURCES.
