YepThatsIt my insignia has 80k KM /50k miles. I am thinking if maybe I should do the chance twice, let’s say now and then next day after 100km. What do you think? Or maybe once is OK and then after 30k KM ?
Hello! Great video. I have tried to do the same on my Chevy Captiva 2011 and unfortunately the temperature of the oil never reaches such a high temp. Even after several miles drive, the fluid temperature measuer both with a laser thermometer as you did and also using an OBDII scanner never goes beyond 75-78 degrees. Any idea why this could happen?
hi, try doing a stall test in d & r , but do not do longer than 10 seconds. make sure after you do a stall test run trans in n for a while, ideally have trans fluid temp available on your scantool in live time data while you do it. it should warm it up quickly. cheers
Thank you, great video! What's your opinion on the ATF change frequency for a 6T45 on a Chevy Malibu 2016? I've just read it is recommended to change the fluid every 25.000 miles (40.000km). Thanks in advance!
hi, when trans has done under 200,000km, i recommend trans filter service every 50,000km and then when has done over 200,000km to trans filter service once a year or every 25-30,000km. trans fluid change only is waste of time. replace filter, clean magnets and add magnets ! bypass the heat exchanger/trans cooler to eliminate coolant entering trans. cheers
Please do a video on Ford btr sealed trans service , I have a 2000 AU and everybody has a different way of doing the final fill and fluid level check , any help would be good ,cheers Bob
hi, on youtube search "yepthatsit btr " and you should find my other btr , ion, dsi transmission videos, i`m sure the info you need is in there. cheers
Hey Hellow! I have a buick regal 2012 base 2.4. I think it has the 6t40. When im at a red light the car jerks like 10 times. it feels like being pushing from behind, but when I push the acelerator lightly, that jerks desapear. An oil change will change that?
is it safe to change at 86k miles sometimes i have delay from n to d and when it start moving sometimes i feel a shock , it delays and jumps forward i have 2013 opel astra it never changed atf
I'm amused with the fancy words you use over there. The rubber "perishes" if the oil gets on it. I've heard of rubber that fails, deteriorates, falls apart and even goes to shit but never perishes.
Hey not sure if you still monitor this comment section or not but I have a question if you will be willing to put your 2 cents in. I recently rebuilt my 6t45 in a 1.6 diesel terrain everything went well couple hiccups along the way but for the most part got it sorted out. I have access to an MDI and GDS2 my issue is that the rebuilt trans is not getting above 160 degrees F. Normally I would think this is great should be less harsh on my fluid and parts. It used to run at about 200 degrees F on average with crappy dark fluid. I cant get the thing hot enough to do a fast learn procedure OR hot enough to properly set the fluid level. I got it as hot as I could and did the proper fluid level check and just left it there. No problems shifting or anything, yet.... But I would like to accomplish a fast learn and proper fluid check. Is this normal? I did spring for the higher quality clutches and pistons not sure if thats having an impact on the temp or not. Any info would be GREATLY! appreciated
hi, you can do a stall test to warm up quickly. STRICTLY do it max 10 seconds in D or R then back to neutral and drive for short distance. to do stall test place foot hard on brake in D or R and push accelerator to the floor and hold, it will reach a max rev or stall. this is used to test for clutch / sprag clutch issues in gear. both D & R test should reach about the same around 2000-2500rpm generally. I accept NO liability if you damage anything. Do your own research and make your own decisions. beer link is in description and send as a gift or paypal take a fee. cheers
Oh man a stall test sounds scary, I'll look into that. After this adventure I'm going back to manual transmissions only. This is my first automatic car. My wife was sick of pushing a clutch in traffic.... Thank you
it is also used in Opel Insignia 1.6 SIDI version - 6T45 / MH7. Thanks for tutorial! I will replace the oil on my own now!
cheers

Which trans line is best for the inline filter?
Is there a bypass inline filter?
Thank you, great video!

hi, generally a fluid change will only help if its a low/high fluid level problem. check all the basics first. cheers
Brilliant, very useful information, thanks!
thanks& cheers
Excellent video man... Thanks lot...
thanks & cheers
In the UK Vauxhall/opel astra J same gearbox
cheers
@@YepThatsIt ive just changed the fluid in mine after 50 000 "lifetimeoil" was black and looks like mud

hi, maintenance is always a good idea, however generally a service will not fix issues unless was low or overfull of fluid. cheers

hi, if you look it up...when referring to rubber - perishes means loses its normal qualities. glad you`re amused cheers
