A bit misleading. The Hungarian independence movement of 1848 had many Allies in the german states. In 1848 was the uprising of the pan-german liberals, also rising in Austria. ‘Megallj Habsburg’ would be more accurate for the politics of the age.
Megállj német does sound better though, if you know the context of the song you know what kind of Germans this song goes to.
well, yeah. but that doesnt sound as good. maybe "megállj labanc", but labanc was mainly used in ráckóczi's war of independence not 1848
