  • While this is a "Rock Bouncer" it can still crawl and uses the same transmissions as Thumper.

Just finished this step. Great fit, a joy to build. Everything lines up perfectly. Great work. Thanks

I have ordered the exact parts that you specify and I cannot get the ESC and the motor to work together. I get a beep beep from the motor which troubleshooting indicates incorrect voltage. Do you have any thoughts on what might be wrong? I am quite certain I got the correct ESC, motor and battery.

I have quite a few motor ESC combination options. What Motor and ESC did you get? (also include brand names) Does your steering servo work?

@@RockyTop_BC yes, steering servo works and I also added an LED light bar that also works. :) I actually got two motors, both D3530's. One is flash hobby D-power series, the other is dys g-power, both 1100KV. ESC is hobbywing quicrun WP 16BL30 30A. Battery is Zeee 2S Shorty Lipo Battery 5000mAh 7.4V.

OK. Good parts, the ESC is normally very strong. I am guessing that you tried both motors. First make sure the batteries wires are positive to positive- negative to negative. Make sure the motor wires are not touching each other. Next make sure the control wires are plugged into the receiver correctly. most receives are labeled 0,1,2,3 others bat, steering, motor, aux. The order is usually battery - power out, then steering and then motor. Check your receiver info to make sure. Next it is way too easy to plug the wires in 180 degrees backwards. Normally all the light colored wires are on the same side. So if the light colored wire is on the left side on the servo, the light colored wire is on the left side on the ESC when plugging them in.
Side note you can plug the motor wire in the steering spot to test. The steering will then control the motor.

@@RockyTop_BC Thank you! I will try the servo connection trick after work and report back!

I am a little confused. The ESC has a 3 pin connector that connects to the receiver and also the battery connections and the 3 wires for the motor. There is no connection from the motor to the receiver.
