- The UN Special Rapporteur on the human rights of migrants, Felipe Gonzalez Morales, will reveal his first set of conclusions about the conditions faced by Nepal's migrant workers.
With an unemployment rate hovering around 40 percent, many Nepalis say they have no choice but to leave their country.
About a third of the country's economy comes from money earned abroad, but many workers are exploited.

You can thank the Maoists for that.
poor people... very friendly..
Lima Charlie Not poor exactly. This is relative term. I think poor governance here are forcing Nepalese to go abroad .
Poor Nepalese people 40 percent unemployed!! They should set up solar and wind energy generators there and export energy to neighboring countries and develop more Tourism!!
fidel catsro Good idea man they has to implement it...
Nepal government should also get more industrial trade from China their super rich neighboring cat!! Boost more fisheries and agricultural and poultry sector through water irrigation and plenty of man made reservoir as water collection area because it is a landlocked country and does not have its own sea
China will not employ foreigners when they provide jobs. China took its own workers to work in Africa, This is what caused Protests among Africans.
India don't let Nepal to develop.
Rupak kafle How can India do that?? Why would India help you develop instead of spending money on its own people. Dont blame India for your stupid government.
sounds EXACTLY like philippines !
God help us world-wide. The greed and evil will generate Karma.
5 reasons why Nepali's suffer : 1) Maoist government trying to form an authoritarian regime 2) Exploiting people's sentiment by creating anti India propaganda (Thus forcing India to retaliate politically) 3) China using Nepal as proxy against India along with pakistan. Thus affecting Nepali tourism sector. 4) High corruption 5) Failure to accept the reality of current geo political situation of Nepal by its people.
raw Lemon I think most important point is corruption , our fucktard politician , people in Nepal just want to develop themselves we don't want to develop country, and the most important point is our too much dependency on India. We just don't want to use national product. We buy almost everything from India and then China.Other points are we didn't have any ruler or leader in history whose objective was to develop country and civil war is also one of the main reason and other social problems like untouchability, gender discrimination, kamlari paratha and many more are the reasons too
where did you get the stats of 40 percent unemployed? I see on average 4.4 percent over the years when I google it.
This is the truth..
