This is my holy grail foundation! I’ve been using it for years and every time I think I’ve found something cheaper that’s just as good I end up going back to it. I’m 44 and have dry skin but use good derm-grade skincare, still my skin EATS moisture, every foundation goes dry on me! Not this. My skin truly looks better as it wears throughout the day. I try every new release on the market the only thing I can compare it to is the Chanel Sublimage SERUM foundation (the one in the pump that you can only buy direct from Chanel) that one has less coverage but has the same “skin looks better as it wears” effect for me. Thanks for the review Abby! I was happy to see the other shades, I too can wear 3 different ones in the range which is a little frustrating picking the perfect one! Just a tip when Saks does their 15% off beauty this is included!

I agree that Pure Ivory is the best match in the Concealer foundation. It just blended so easily onto your skin. You can always add bronzer and blush for color. But again, you look beautiful with no makeup because your skin is in as perfect condition as it gets. You don’t have visible pores. This is stunning on you. ❤

Hi Abby. So after watching both La Prairie vids, it’s really hard to c a difference because ur skin is pretty in both.😅. I def like the ivory shade better than the beige u swatched today. I am ur skin twin and I cringe in too yellow of a base. I love the Cle de Peau concealer stick, one of my top five HG and repurchased over and over. In a previous comment, I mentioned that the Caviar made me break out, that I as over 20 years ago. Am tempted to try again.😂 Mayb a can go to store and score a sample again and c. Or Nordies has good return policy online too. Straight up, if u could choose ONLY one from all ur beautiful foundations and wear it everyday, which one? Yes. As we get older, skin care is everything. Thanks for this review even tho my wallet is always in trouble when I watch u!!😂😂

Of course, any foundation or skin tint looks amazing on you because of your beautiful skin. $280 is a bit steep for me but for those that can afford it, it's beautiful. I'm not convinced however, that it's worth the price still. I just watched a Nikki La rose video and she absolutely loves the LaPrarie powder, also very expensive but as she is a make up artist, I totally get it. I'm really excited to see another review of the infamous la prairie skin caviar foundation. Personally, I think the shade Warm Beige matches your skin tone alot better. I don't know why but I do not like the shade pure ivory at all. It kind of has a chalky look to it. Can't really describe it. I've tried it numerous times and I end up getting warm beige instead as it really matches my skin tone and I feel the same with your skin. Warm Beige just looks so natural and luminous whereas pure ivory looks just ok. Nevertheless, you do you, Abby! Just my opinion ;) Have a good one!

Hi Abby, thank you so much for this review. As I told you in your previous review about the cushion foundation, I was afraid that this foundation would be too heavy on the my skin. Now that I have seen it in action, on your skin, I have to say that it's really amazing... it was exactly what I was looking for because I have dry mature skin and also beacause I live in the French Riviera and have a strong heat wave . Now I really need something comfortable and light, that does not emphasize the texture and leaves my skin hydrated. So ....I have to but it. I have to decide the color, I have the honey beige in the cushion but I saw on the website the 03 satin nude and I don't understand the difference... the colours are not well explained. You are welcome! The cushion is amazing! SO as far as the difference between Honey Beige and Satin Nude -- they are both in the 30's range - medium- but the Honey Beige is Neutral WARM 30 and the Satin Beige in just NEUTRAL 30. So if you prefer or have a warm undertone-- I would go Honey Beige. IF you have a bit of cool and warm in your skin - then I would go with SATIN NUDE. I hope this helps a bit. xoxo

Yes it does! CDP makes gorgeous foundations! AND this La Prairie is a similar vibe to The Foundation but does not contain the mica that CDP does. Both of them our housed in their iconic moisturizer and it just feels luxe and fabulous on the skin. I truly looks better as the day goes on! I have a feeling you would love it too! xoxo

Hello Minky - I too, am Cool Beige in Tom Ford. So the closest shade in La Prairie is in Pure Ivory and I have done a deep dive in the shades. This one might be hair lighter because of the SPF. I hope this helps. xoxo
Hello Janice and crew! SO that is a good question. SO they are similar in concept- tinted moisturizer - both using their iconic moisturizers. SO the finish of the Chanel Sublimage - go.shopmy.us/p-6871734 is not a dewy as the La Prairie. I would say it is more of a satin finish. It is moisturizing and actually provides more coverage than you would think. The La Prairie -- does give you a dewier finish and almost a smoothing finish. The Sublimage - is more of a healthy satin look- maybe not as radiant. The price difference is significant -- Chanel 155 compared to 280! THE Sublimage does not have the built in concealer but you can just buy one of the Chanel ones... the Sublimage Concealer is pricy as well but the Le Correcteur is not that bad. So I do like both-- but definitely different finishes. I hope this helps. xoxo
I loved the old formula in the tan container before it became caviar foundation. It was only $150.00 then. Not inexpensive. But they changed the colors too.
As of today- I would pick up the Essence in Foundation- go.shopmy.us/p-6876557 It performs so well in the Summer Heat! I know La Prairie is recommending this one for summer because it has a touch of SPF but I think this one will do better in the Fall/Winter for myself... I hope this helps. xoxo
Oh Abby , this foundation was absolute fail to me. I tried this around 6-7 years ago. And after a few attempts, I threw it away😳😂 I bought for my b-day, and maybe because of my super humid climate , even in the end of September.,after 8-10 hrs this became like mask, not fresh. And it’s too heavy for my liking. Considering I love that makeup no makeup look. Now Valmont one is not so light either, but It does become more beautiful after hrs, and wears off naturally .
