Hey, I like these short little videos! Great idea, Daniel. Now...I might have to steal the idea to get more videos on my own channel. Wait, did I say 'steal'? I meant 'homage'! 😉 Keep exploring!
Ty for your thoughts. This is the only game I have ranked a 1 on bgg. I wanted this to be good but after playing multiple times I realized it was simply a broken game. Yeah, you could house rule tons of stuff to make it better but at its core it’s incomplete. Which sucks. Such a cool idea and concept. This is all my opinion of course, just my two cents. Really appreciate your vids!
Have gone back and forth on getting Folklore, still haven't played or bought. Not sure I ever will, but that random table kit looks interesting. BTW, not sure if it's my ears or your mic, but you sound a little under the weather. If by chance you are, hope you feel well soon.
I've relatively recently finished the first scenario in the base set. It's not legendary, but it was a good time with four people. I intend to finish it before starting League of Dungeoneers.
I'd love to do a fan made expansion one day and use a lot of what's in the book as a jumping off point. I agree I wish we'd have more games offer greater support for fans to expand them or run their own sessions. It seems most developers aren't in the mindset of longevity, they'd rather focus on their next kickstarter project instead.
This looks like a really good all around resource. More games definitely need this sort of thing. Usually when mainstream games get them, it's from third parties.
Adventure Creation Kit sounds great in theory but I don't think many people actually used it. I've been very disappointed by the lack of fanmade stuff for this game. There are like 2 fanmade adventure or so available on BGG. I think it's becuase there are simply better dungeon crawlers to play and people just moved on. I also played this game only a few times. It's not bad. But there are better. And sadly the publisher seems to go inactive afte the Kickstater mold fiasco when they had to reprint and send backers the game again.
Combat is alright, some people really dislike the d100 system but I think it works well enough. It's certainly different and serviceable to enjoy the game. I would approach it not necessarily from a mechanically tight board game stand point but closer to a loose RPG mindset, much like DUN or Dungeoneers
I’m excited to try to find this for purchase. Anything for creation in TTRPG is my jam!
Seems like this product would be great for solo.

Great video. This game doesn’t get nearly enough love.
I really need to get my copy to the table again. It's such a fun setting.
I so wanted to like Folklore, but the repeated head-to-head combat gameplay really ruined the experience for me.

No prob at all. It's a very flawed game, and one that I play ONLY with a bunch of house rules. I play it more as an RPG than a board game.
I own this game, but have never played it. Every time I open the box, it intimidates me lol. Thanks for the video.
Same here Larry.
Sold mine for that reason
Unaware of the game, gotta look more deeply into your back catalog. Thanks for sharing

Love to see that little lantern being loved. n_n
Decided to pass on this game at the time. Can’t remember why now but must’ve been something I didn’t like about it.
It's a very flawed game, but one with a lot of potential.
Enjoyed the game very much. With a few house rules from BGG the combat is much improved. Thanks for the video Daniel!
Love these short "one thing..." videos. I completely forgot that creation book in Folklore. Never used it! Now I will have a look!
Glad you like them! I wanted to introduce a 3rd video for each week, but keep it simple and low effort on my part. I’ve been enjoying them.
@TheDungeonDive I really do think it's a great idea. A change of pace. A short but striking point each time! A good quick fix for me 😃
I just got this myself. I am looking forward to using it.
I really wish we could get more but doesn't look like Greenbriar games is doing anything more. I love this world and want more.
There's plenty already if you have all the story books. To this video's point, you can easily roll up your own adventure as well.
Especially with the side quest cards.

Amazing. Thank you for sharing this. Looks perfect for solo-ing.
Great!
For people that have played it, how important are the expansions? I see that the Dark Tales expansion is hard to find.
The Spire expansion is, IMO, a must have.
@@TheDungeonDive why?
Imo dark tales is a must have as it has side quests that allow you to level up quicker to make the game easier to progress through
@@GiulioCandiloromakes the combat more interesting with the addition of the initiative track.
@@TheDungeonDive tks

People like me are probably using it for solo play, and not really worried about publishing their creations, so I still love that it exists.
Ive got this game, but never got round to playing it. I like the theme but heard the combat can be tiresome?
Yep - combat is not fun, but I have some house rules that make it much better.

It's a fascinating title. Was very easy to obtain it for a bargain price. It's kind of like underrated title. RPG not just a board game.
Try the house rules out there on the net and BGG. Made the combat much better, faster, and enjoyable for me.
@@cheesedanishable I agree combat is OK, it's like D&D, just d100.
Is there any way to get the rest of the content for this game after the KS I backed? It seems like the only way they sell it is with everything.
No idea - probably best to email the publisher, or check on BGG or Facebook.
Have you actually used The Adventure Tool kit? I agree its a blast (i have it as a pdf) but I’ve never used it.
Not to create, but to roll up random things while playing sandbox games.
@@TheDungeonDive I’ll have to take another look…
Where did you get the pdf? I have the physical copy but I was looking for the pdf too
