There’s a video by Ryan Nicolello playing this etude and that’s about how I played it. But by all mean if you’re able to double tongue this etude, like the gentleman in this video, go for it! This video was great btw to the creator
no actually your tongue is actually unable to go that fast, so you have a physical limit and you can do nothing about it. Instead, they actually do something called double tonguing or triple tonguing where they can play double the speed the can humanly play with their tongue by actually using their throats. Instead of tu tu tu tu, it is tu ku tu ku because the ku doesn't have to use the tongue and instead uses the throat. So they play alternately to get double the speed. It is ridiculously hard though. I have been trying for a year and not that close. So keep trying.
The etude is in both selected studies for trombone and selected studies for euphonium, I highly recommend buying it because there are some fun etudes in there
Han Solo That’s a bold statement and discredits a lot of hard working musicians. It’s significantly easier than TMEA but it’s still easily one of the most competitive All-State circuits in the country. Texas is all around crazy
@@cainbailey3434 I'm just playing around. But I was in a 5A TMEA school then moved to a 3A ATSSB school my senior and made 2nd chair overall in the all state band. It was an amazing experience and led me to major in music. I had only advanced to Area in TMEA. I'm a clarinet player.
@@crunchypeanutbutter6969 I practiced different ways to tongue it and I found that “da ga da” worked the best and sounded the best so just find the best tonguing method for you and practice it alot

I commend you on your ability to play 16th notes so well consistently and consecutively. I have trouble with that. But I play alto sax, in case toungeing strategies are different.
I wish I could tongue as fast as this guy, I’m supposed to do this for all region this year but it’s my first year in high school and I’m not even close to this :(
uL Crimson Well I guess it depends on the person, but 1 and 2A schools have less people, so less talented people to choose from, and less talented people who care. That’s the whole reason I made my joke lol
I have never seen a vavle setup like that. Seems kind of dumb in the open position, you're blowing through two valves. Never seen that before I can't imagine why you'd want that on a tenor
Actually I find the open horn to be the primary selling point of the Shire's twin valve! It's very clear and responsive without sacrificing openness in the trigger range. Each valve is individually more airtight than a normal rotor so it more or less evens out of your standard rotor that has 4 pipes running through it.
"What do we want them to play for the audition?" "I don't know, something like Darude-Sandstorm"
If Gatti was a hype beast
His sound is almost as perfect as his hair
bro i didn't think he sounded THAT bad 💀
Single tounging has left the chat
Aaron Johnson I played trombone in school single tongue got me through school mainly cause I never needed double.
Potter5416 i can single tongue some of this piece but after awhile my tounge just gives up
Funny bro
I made the all state band playing this etude in ‘15 and I single tongued and played it slow. I can’t double tongue worth crap

Glad to see no matter how professional you go. Trombones act like trombones of all ages (mentally 6 years old)
You’re mentally 6 years old
Like your mom
Um actuallu some of us act older
Like 7 years old
I act like a 6 and a half year old. Try again.
Your all wrong we act like 6.2 year olds
as a trombone player this is impressive, but also makes him sound like hes starting a motorcycle
I swear every time I play through this from beginning to end it feels like there's steam when my lips come off that mouthpiece
My tongue felt tired just listening to this
Glad to see all trombones are the same as me and my section😂
@Sai Patel lmao bruh I need one
How do I even play this on trombone bro what
Glad I’m in tmea 😅 this looks freaking hard
ATSSB has no competition. You'd be first chair in ATSSB.
