Dear DDG, I'm planning on joining the marines out of college because I want the respect and to serve, I know this is an old video but I love watching your videos new and old and you are one of the reasons I want to join, thank you for serving and making content a lot of people enjoy. Take care and keep doing what you're doing
First of all, I highly respect all Marines an Former Marines, I come from a family full of them, and I'm enlisting the second I graduate in 3 years. You are awesome and I thank you for serving our country. Semper Fi.
I was stationed over in the Atlantic as a 7532 (V-22 Pilot) We had a nickname for my plane, "TDK" The Dolphin Killer. When we were directed south of the central Atlantic it was warm ya know so we would mess around and on a routine flight a scool of dolphins were jumping almost 15 feet out of water and one helicopter hovering almost hit one. so as a challenge i flew my V-22 almost 20 feet and waited nothing happened then i went for a swoop and went at the same altitude as one jumped and shredded the dolphin. Our Commander made us clean the whole V-22 including the inside (which was fine and clean as always)
Hey so I have 2 questions. My first being about stationing. I currently live in Hawaii and I'm 17 and plan on enlisting rather soon. Does this at all increase or decrease my chance of being stationed here? My second question is if I chose LAV crewman as my MOS, does it make me illegible for becoming a Scout sniper? Because I know that the basic infantry MOS' branch off into scout sniper and since LAV is partially considered infantry I'm a bit confused. Thanks!
I have a few questions: do you have to have 20/20 vision to be a Desginated Marksman? I might need glasses and if I do get glasses does it narrow what I can/can't do? Thanks for any response my ideas for the marines just on your videos and personal choices I want to be either a Grenadier or a DM.
So since you were a DM and that was also infantry, were you using the SR-25 or the M16A4 like you said? Because you said the DM's are usually the long-range dudes, so does that mean you were doing missions a lot with the SR-25?
love your vids man, and thank you greatly for your service. if you dont mind me asking, what did you score on the asvab? i just took it a couple months ago and got an 88 and what would be your suggestion for what i should do with it.
Why not also suggest that they join the reserves before starting college and then go to school as soon as they can after mos training? I recently did this in the army reserves but I believe you can do the same thing in any branch. It doesn't hurt to take advantage of basic to avoid a few of the simpler rotc classes and get a few college credits.
The best shooting accuracy of your class, 20/20 perfect vision, 50 meter swim holding a weight out of water, tread water for 30 seconds holding a weight out of water, no signs of panic, 500 meter swim using side or breast stroke, 3 mile run in 18 minutes, 20 deadhang pull-ups(No Swinging), 100 sit-up/crunchs under two minutes. I'd assume theires more too.
@iToxicityHD Its not really Racism its more like pride i see alot of people who are in non combat MOS's in different branchs that act like they are a badass and go on deployment and come back telling people they killed a bunch of insurgents then i have to correct them saying no the only thing you killed is a stack of paperwork. Marines are the toughest people i have ever seen. And i have personally seen Air Force personel duck for cover out outgoing in direct fire but this is only a few people
Yea I'm gonna become an officer in the ROTC. I want to go on at least two tours. Eventually I want to join marine force recon. I'm having trouble getting family support because they don't want me to. Do you have any advice?
Ok so if I want to be a M240 gunner, what do I need to be good at? like you said a mortar man has to be able to hike well so what does an M240 gunner need?
@How2dolife eh i get it alot im kinda use to it by now but it is a touchy subject for me so when i do answer the question i will probably do it in a way that is not so blunt lol
Dude same for me man, just to let you know anyone's family would be opposed to them doing infantry and special operation missions because it is not only a huge choice that could end up being a huge mistake if the person does not know what they are getting into but it is a life threatening choice. All my family really can see is the fact that I might die and that really scares them but I know it is right. They'll be so proud when your in and see what your doing. Happens to everyone.
I am a sophomore in high school and I want to join the Marines but I have a few questions I would like to ask. 1) can I enlist in the marines out of high school and become infantry or do they pick what you are. 2) if I like marines would I be able to make it a career and serve for more than 4 or 8 years. 3) if I am in the marines during a war would it be like likely for me to be deployed to a combat zone. These are my 3 major questions because I would really like to join the marines right out of high school and be in infantry.
Hey man I'm a sophomore too in high school. I have always wanted to join the Marines for pride and honor. My grandpa was a Marine and I have always wanted to be a Marine. I have an issue though. I am a more heavy set guy. I lift a lot of weights and stuff. I have more muscle than fat at least it think. I weigh two forty and Ian six foot six which is short. I lift a lot of weights though and I believe that is why I weigh so much. I worry I won't make it into the Marines but my issue worries me.
Hello I can answer all of your questions. 1.)You can enlist right after you graduate high school but you must graduate. You will be able to chose your mos unless you sign an open contrct then they chose what ever shitty job no one wants like plumber. 2.)Yes you can keep re-enlisting if you wish to make a career out of it. 3.)If you are infantry you will likely be deployed to a combat zone during a war. Hell that is what infantry does. I hope I answered your questions. If you have anymore just ask.
Well listen, to even be considered for scout sniper school you have to reach the rank of corporal (E-4) you have to have had 2 combat deployments, and have to have a 300 PFT.
Hi, I’m joining the marines soon and Iv made a list of what I need to do in order to pass basic. I don’t really no what I could do in the marine core and I want to explore other options. I’m not smart, my education is terrible but I get straight As and Bs. they don’t teach us much in school that I need to no and it’s messed with me and I don’t no what to do. I need help finding a better job in the marines if not thin I’ll go infantry.
like you said about joining the marines is wrong if youre doing it for the GI bill, well i am interested in joining not for that but just to have self respect and have my family know i can accomplish something like the marines. is this still a good mindset?
My parents are basically making me go to college, but I want to be an enlisted marine. This video you said you want to do marines first before college if you want to be enlisted. Can I still do college first and be an enlisted marine, or will I be forced to do officer or something like that?
They're bigger because they're used to occupy and hold territory, which takes a lot more people. Marine infantry is generally a fast-moving strike force. They're made for combat, not for occupying territory for any extended length of time. Our servicemen and women all deserve loads of respect. I suspect that also explains the deployment times.
You make a great point about individuals signing up for pay bonuses. Anyone who joins for that reason may end up coming home in body bag because their heart isn't in it for the right reason. I was a Army medic during OP Uphold Democracy (Haiti '94-'95). As for being a Marine, yeah you cats are a breed above the rest. There is a reason they call you guys 'DEVIL HUNDEN". Again bro, keep up the good work and keep the commentaries coming...out!
Thank you for what you have done for our country my dads Army Airborne we currently live at MacDill Air Force Base Tampa yea it Blows lol but yea I'm looking Forward to joining the Marines and set my own path! I love the whole brotherHood thing!! I find out what job I get Friday when I head up to Meps but all I hear is don't count on having that Same job after bootcamp!
I've heard that if you go Infantry ,when you transition to civilian life its hard because Infantry dosent qualify you for many civi jobs. so if I go Infantry get out then go to college will I be fine or will it still be hard to find a job?
I'm joining the Marines just to serve my country I don't care if I'm seen as a bad ass in my view if I take up arms for my country and my countrymen then I'm already a Bad ass
i know that but theyre atleast part of USSOCOM and primarily work with CAG and SEALs (referring to rangers). i have a great respect for all branches and dont understand why MARSOC doesnt work more with units from other branches or atleast be apart of SOCOM. my cousins are marines, one of them a former scout sniper (hes a cop now). which is weird because im actually joining the military (hopefully, and still training) to be a ranger in 2 years
hey devil i have my eyes set on joining the army but i have a question about the marines cuz i dont know much about them. In WW2 the marines werent as well equipped as the army was. is this still true today? or now do u guys have the mother of all fire power?
I am leaving for Marine Corps Recruitment Depot Paris Island, South Carolina on June 18 for Basic Training. I am extremely excited to go. I told one of my friends in the army I was going to the Marines and he almost fainted. He said I was nuts and that Basic Training will be the hardest 13 weeks of my life. My response was "I want to earn my title and be part of the best." He told me that in army basic training you are called a soldier within the first weeks. In the marines you have to earn it.
i have a few questions here... ok for starters, how are the MER's and how frequently do you have to eat those? how hard was the ASVAB and what did you get on it? is it hard to become a scout sniper compared to all the other MOS's? once you're done with basic training what generally happens? how are the rooms when you're stationed? can you have a computer and how do priveleges like that go? is it easy to make friends and do you shower together? how often is your life threatened? thank you
Like I said in one video ive been a marine since i was 3 and im 15 and lately ive been doin stupid shit and kinda straying away from marines you know like teenager shit and this is making me clean up my life and i like this with your stories.
***** I'm not a marine, at least not yet. I plan on being an officer(by PLC) and a reservist(before commission). I've done extensive research(from sites like leatherneck, straight dope) on the subject and to my knowledge its more based on PFT scores then degrees. In fact from everything I've seen, they only look at PFT and GPA, sometimes where you got your degree. If not please point me to some sources because I will change what I try to get a degree for.
NiveusCornix You pretty much hit it on the nose, I'm waiting to do an official PFT then I will be contracted. I talked to some buddies and they said that as long as your GPA is 3.0 or higher and PFT 280 or higher you're gonna get in.Srenblac Kitten If you've got a bachelors and then go the enlisted route to try and get commissioned, you're gonna have to get to at least the rank of corporal, because it is the first NCO.
i see and agree with your point, but in my opinion its better for an individual to believe your the best and you do the best because it boosts your confidence and your happiness etc so its good for him to believe he is the best and i say fair play to him but good comment bro.
I plan on joining Army as an 11b infantryman I have nothing but respect for all branches of the U.S. Military especially the Marines and Army. My grandpa fought in the Korean war as a marine and my uncle was in the army and went to Iraq. And I hope to work with marines.
Srenblac Kitten I'm sure things have changed some, but keep in mind, the Airborne in WWII were the ones being dropped into enemy territory. inot the places where if they got caught, there was no reinforcements. If they didn't complete the objective, then good luck getting out alive at all.
the Canadian infantry are trained to the same standard as marines because we know how to use every weapon and tool, and also have a very high standard of marksman shooting and physical dexterity. And that's just for a regular infantry solder, the Canadian special forces are some of the best in the world.
Talk to them about it. I dunno about marines, but when I told my parents I'd join the army they voiced their own opinions about not wanting me to. I talked with them, they told me why they didn't want me to go, I told them why I wanted to go, and basically it came down to: "Was I sure this was what I wanted to do?" The answer was, of course, yes.
ABSOLUTELY, They pretty much won the Pacific war front in WW2, are the first ones in, and are the most feared military piece there is. A Marine and is Rifle. OOH RAH!!
Anyway, hey DevilDogGamer, so you were 3rd LAR, that's good shit. I was a Rifleman with 2/7 and The Stumps burned down after a lightening storm, but 29 is still as shitty as ever. I actually heard that Lake Bandini got drained, and the 29 Airfield is back up and running.
Seems that a lot of high schoolers are following your posts. Keep up the good work! You seem to have the ability to answer a lot of QQQ;s. Best, Ex Navy/USMC combat corpsman, here.
im in middle school and my uncle use to tell me stories about him and his buddies in the marines and i have known since i was about 8 i was going to join the marines
I think the pacific pictures the marines perfectly, but what I don't like about it is that in the 2nd to last episode the guy got drafted, I mean what marine gets drafted and actually passes boot camp
What separates the Marines from other branches? It's a branch of service full of radicals who want to be involved in the big balls out firefights. What makes Marines elite? The MEU(SOC). Any unit that can deploy anywhere in the world in 8 to 12 hours is considered to be elite. So Army SF, Rangers, Airborne, Seals, SWCC, PJ's, and U.S. Marines have that capability. Marines arrive by sea in that critical time frame where lives hang in the balance, and project power from the ocean to the mainland.
Do the Marines and Navy still dislike each other, because my family has been Navy, and they said that when they didn't like Marines and Marines didn't like them
The Marines are sent in when a city or a large place needs to be sercured and you dont need delicate handerling, like specialized groups like SOF groups do. SOF groups are used when something needs to be low key, needs intelligence over fire power or its a "did not happen kind of thing". The branchs and MOS all serve there purpose. If they didn't we would not have them.
Sam Roth If you could compare MARSOC training to BUDS training, you'd understand. Unfortunately MARSOC training information isn't really available to the public civilian pool, but it's rough as fuck, and it's 7 months long.
Imagine all the untold stories from the Fleet.. I still miss Marine Corps Mondays.
Thanks for your service DDG. I am planning on joining the Army and will choose my mos as 11B infantryman
Welcome to the club bro
Yeah now I'm curious to how many other kids like me watched DDG's shit only to grow up to sit on the big green weanie.
Yo man what’s going on with your life today
Dear DDG, I'm planning on joining the marines out of college because I want the respect and to serve, I know this is an old video but I love watching your videos new and old and you are one of the reasons I want to join, thank you for serving and making content a lot of people enjoy. Ian Blanchard hey Ian check my channel out. I talk about OCS and the officer programs
man your videos are exactly what i love to hear! keep making them
First of all, I highly respect all Marines an Former Marines, I come from a family full of them, and I'm enlisting the second I graduate in 3 years. You are awesome and I thank you for serving our country. Semper Fi.

hahahaahhahaah Dolphin: Yay! I'm boosting morale among them! :D You: TIME TO DIE FUCKER
I love your Marine Corps Mondays! I plan on joining the Marines and your videos are very helpful in letting me know what to expect!
Thanks for your service!
@privatomoe Its not that they are elite or special its just the training is some of the toughest in the world which makes us a lot more hardcore

in the Netherlands you get your service rifle (c7) and you can buy the accessories yourself.

How do you feel towards combat engineers?
I leaving for recruit training in 2 weeks as an 0313 LAV Crewman.
what made you choose that mos?
It sounded pretty badass
Good luck in your service.
Yea I'm gonna become an officer in the ROTC. I want to go on at least two tours. Eventually I want to join marine force recon. I'm having trouble getting family support because they don't want me to. Do you have any advice?

no they do that's why they want to switch over to the m27 IAR it looks more like a m4 but with a bigger mag
Dude same for me man, just to let you know anyone's family would be opposed to them doing infantry and special operation missions because it is not only a huge choice that could end up being a huge mistake if the person does not know what they are getting into but it is a life threatening choice. 0311, look for that. Its a rifleman.

Future DevilDog thanks bro you answered every question I had
sadistic frogman No problem
Well listen, to even be considered for scout sniper school you have to reach the rank of corporal (E-4) you have to have had 2 combat deployments, and have to have a 300 PFT.
and in the marines during boot camp do you guys always do pull ups
Do you have any information about the enlisted to officer programs?
Hi, I’m joining the marines soon and Iv made a list of what I need to do in order to pass basic. I don’t really no what I could do in the marine core and I want to explore other options. I’m not smart, my education is terrible but I get straight As and Bs. they don’t teach us much in school that I need to no and it’s messed with me and I don’t no what to do. I choose my job after MEPS Marine Security Forces, was it different back then?
like you said about joining the marines is wrong if youre doing it for the GI bill, well i am interested in joining not for that but just to have self respect and have my family know i can accomplish something like the marines. is this still a good mindset?
Don't go to the marines just for the gi bill bro. If you want to be disciplined then yes go for it.
+Dan Theman if you want to be disciplined come to my basement
My parents are basically making me go to college, but I want to be an enlisted marine. This video you said you want to do marines first before college if you want to be enlisted. Can I still do college first and be an enlisted marine, or will I be forced to do officer or something like that?
You can do reserve

So I have my heart set on joining the Marines, but I have to go to college first. As a second lieutenant, can you still get some action?
I want to be a tank crewman,so do i get to pick what position i want or do they give it to you based on your performance?
and you won't be a tanker, you'll most likely be an artilleryman, if you were to do that, just go ahead and be a grunt
Probably what you use a wish list or based on performance
This guy has definitely made me think about enlisting.
I've heard that if you go Infantry ,when you transition to civilian life its hard because Infantry dosent qualify you for many civi jobs. so if I go Infantry get out then go to college will I be fine or will it still be hard to find a job?
I know it's late but if you go to college after anything you'll be fine.
Soul of A Spartan Go for a blue collar job. Like Pipelining.
I'm joining the Marines just to serve my country I don't care if I'm seen as a bad ass in my view if I take up arms for my country and my countrymen then I'm already a Bad ass
I hear all the time about how the usmc are a meat shield in a way.. Is that true?
if you go to the naval academy then become an officer and go into the corp does that mean you wont see combat?
i know that but theyre atleast part of USSOCOM and primarily work with CAG and SEALs (referring to rangers). i have a great respect for all branches and dont understand why MARSOC doesnt work more with units from other branches or atleast be apart of SOCOM. my cousins are marines, one of them a former scout sniper (hes a cop now). which is weird because im actually joining the military (hopefully, and still training) to be a ranger in 2 years

Soooo if you go to college without doing ROTC and get a bachelors degree do you go in automatically as an officer?
***** I'm not a marine, at least not yet. I plan on being an officer(by PLC) and a reservist(before commission). I've done extensive research(from sites like leatherneck, straight dope) on the subject and to my knowledge its more based on PFT scores then degrees. Considering the missions/training is a lot more complex, i agree with you.
i see and agree with your point, but in my opinion its better for an individual to believe your the best and you do the best because it boosts your confidence and your happiness etc so its good for him to believe he is the best and i say fair play to him but good comment bro.
can you re-enlist after your 4 years in the marines?
@milkwetcookies You pick that MOS at the recruiters office and you will head to MEPS
@JuniorxComedy HA i knew this one was coming ill answer that one next vid
I plan on joining Army as an 11b infantryman I have nothing but respect for all branches of the U.S. Military especially the Marines and Army. My grandpa fought in the Korean war as a marine and my uncle was in the army and went to Iraq. And I hope to work with marines.
how does shipping to boot camp work like do the recruiters ship you to whenever the next bach is going or what
I'm sorry, I missed the part where you spoke about occupation or the roles of the different branches..
Could you trade optics with other Marines ? Or is that not allowed.
did u ever serve with Australian Soldiers
most likely not...
whats your suggiestons cause im in the marine and iv been rocking my M4 with akog Laser/flashlight and a flashhider and any suggiestones for sniper?s
Enlisted Marine dress blues are the best looking out of them all. The Marine officer dress blues are second best looking.
My dad worked in lejeune we lived in Jacksonville NC when were you there
Hey devil, just wondering what you think about other military forces out there. Such as Canadians
Another question, did they do the gas chambers while in BMT or is that gone now? That's the only thing I'm nervous about BMT.
Depends what you get when you get out of the basic school.
I would join the marines but I wanna go Airborne
Pussy
Srenblac Kitten plus i want to be an 11c
Srenblac Kitten I'm sure things have changed some, but keep in mind, the Airborne in WWII were the ones being dropped into enemy territory. inot the places where if they got caught, there was no reinforcements. If they didn't complete the objective, then good luck getting out alive at all.
You know 11c is mortar men right?
Jack Colby lol yes
I'm in Air Force ROTC and hell my blues look good but I agree with you bro the marines have some awesome looking blues
What does it mean when you shoot 'pizza box'??
It means you hit nothing, receiving a score of zero.

the Canadian infantry are trained to the same standard as marines because we know how to use every weapon and tool, and also have a very high standard of marksman shooting and physical dexterity. And that's just for a regular infantry solder, the Canadian special forces are some of the best in the world.
Mathias Harlow that explains the usmc
Talk to them about it. I dunno about marines, but when I told my parents I'd join the army they voiced their own opinions about not wanting me to. I talked with them, they told me why they didn't want me to go, I told them why I wanted to go, and basically it came down to: "Was I sure this was what I wanted to do?" The answer was, of course, yes.
do you have to go to collage to rank in the military
Best, Ex Navy/USMC combat corpsman, here.
is there a video where he speaks about the Marine corps and it's benefits ?
What do you do while your based ? An do u get any recreation time like to visit family
im in middle school and my uncle use to tell me stories about him and his buddies in the marines and i have known since i was about 8 i was going to join the marines
My dad was stationed at 29 Palms in '81 I believe
I had an HK 416 Reflix and Gernade Launcher.
Is field artillery a pogue job?
would you want to go into combat thinking youre second best?
Were you allowed to bring anything to boot camp
The clothes your wearing, 20 dollars, photo ID, social security card. That's about it
You are AWESOME TheDevilDogGamer!!! Semper Fi!!!
I think the pacific pictures the marines perfectly, but what I don't like about it is that in the 2nd to last episode the guy got drafted, I mean what marine gets drafted and actually passes boot camp
Two of the toughest trainings in the world are the British SAS and the British Green Berets.
What do you think about a SEAL compared to a Marine?
whats the physical training like?
What is the maximum amount of years you can stay in infantry
I think 20
What separates the Marines from other branches? It's a branch of service full of radicals who want to be involved in the big balls out firefights. What makes Marines elite? The MEU(SOC). Any unit that can deploy anywhere in the world in 8 to 12 hours is considered to be elite. So Army SF, Rangers, Airborne, Seals, SWCC, PJ's, and U.S. Marines have that capability. Marines arrive by sea in that critical time frame where lives hang in the balance, and project power from the ocean to the mainland.
Do the Marines and Navy still dislike each other, because my family has been Navy, and they said that when they didn't like Marines and Marines didn't like them
Do you pick if you want to be a dog handler
Whats the meaning behind Lance in Lance Corporal?
Do you need to be officer to become tank crewman?
The Marines are sent in when a city or a large place needs to be sercured and you dont need delicate handerling, like specialized groups like SOF groups do. SOF groups are used when something needs to be low key, needs intelligence over fire power or its a "did not happen kind of thing". The branchs and MOS all serve there purpose. If they didn't we would not have them.
ACOG costs 1400$ on civilian market without secondary sight.
i dont get how marines are more elite than navy seals and other special operations i mean have u seen BUDS Ttrainng
You cant compare basic training to special forces training, thats just fucking stupid.
Yeah that's what I mean
He wasn't talking about special ops.
Sam Roth If you could compare MARSOC training to BUDS training, you'd understand. Unfortunately MARSOC training information isn't really available to the public civilian pool, but it's rough as fuck, and it's 7 months long.
i dont know buds is pretty fucken hard prob one of the hardest or the hardest
so Devil im not sure if you might know this question or if you already answered it but who's tougher ( navy seals or marine recon ?? )
