@@SetteleTutoringhi sir I have an exam on Oct 5 I'm studying for a month I scored a 510 then 520 and I can't increase beyond that. I should atleast be able to get a 720. Could you please tell me how should I study and what to do?
@@jskakksks2880 Hi, thanks for watching! This might be hard to hear, but my honest opinion is that you should adjust your expectations. It’s pretty much impossible to improve 200 points in 1 week. Your goal should be to get into the 600s, which is possible if you target the right topics. Take a look at your practice test results, and I would bet that you’re getting placed in the Easy second module because you’re making too many mistakes in the first module. The Easy Module limits your score to at most a 620 or so. To play it safe, you need to limit yourself to 5 wrong in the first module to get placed in the hard module. That can be done if you are close to perfect on the grammar, transitions, and outlines. You also need to move quick enough that you’re not running out of time on the vocabulary and passages. That’s going to be hard if you have a weak vocabulary and can’t understand the passages, but if you’re looking for Strong Words and Trap Answers, you can still do pretty well. All the strategies are covered here if you haven’t seen this series yet: ua-cam.com/play/PLlvPF6rDVN_tZC7TZtEwOUuYWQ9ZfJKeF.html
My problem was always the names. Those annoyingly hard to say names. My internal voice would get caught on them, and then I’d completely lose my focus on the entire passage. I was conditioned to excessively scrutinize names/remember names like this because of how my school teachers did English tests.
Haha just watch more of my videos. You will see that I completely skip over anything that takes me any thought to pronounce. If you go by the way I read, half the SAT is passages about people named “Whatever”.
Which types of questions do you mean in this video? the main idea or inference or purpose ones? graphs/charts? I thought it's a good idea to make our own answer choice for the vocab and the transition words questions?
I mostly mean any type of passage question. Vocab and Transitions sometimes are hard to understand too, but working through those answer choices would be a bit different. Dumb Summaries work a bit differently for those types, since we’re usually focused on just one word/blank. With the Reading passages, the choices are usually long too, so we have more filtering to do to find the right Strong Words that connect back to the passage.
I have literally HUNDREDS of examples. Go to my channel homepage. Follow the link in the description to my strategy series and you’ll see the strategies in action!
Honestly, it’s all about getting quicker with the trap answers and noticing the right Strong Words. I can tell almost instantly when a choice has a trap. It takes practice but you want to train your brain to spot words like “most” and “similar” that might indicate a wrong answer.
All the time! Even when you think you understand it, the SAT often uses similar words in trap answers to lure you in. It’s much better to think about testing the choices so that we’re actively hunting for potential problem words.
Watch my video explanations for the test, and you’ll see how I manage things when I don’t understand the passages. You’ll see that you can actually get pretty far with minimal understanding!
WE ARE SO BACK (my comprehension of UA-cam comments has tripled after watching this)
gotta look out for those Strong Words!

before reading the answer choices (for vocab/transition words)

great video - it would be cool to see an example from a test question about how to do these strategies

how to improve speed on reading questions? i get the questions right if i take like 5 mins on each one but when i go fast i get them wrong...

do you recommend using "the choices give you summaries to test" all the time or only when you don't understand a passage properly?

12 HR BEFORE EXAM

@@SetteleTutoring I believe he's trying to say that your physical appearance is similar to that of Nikocado Avocado before he started gaining weight.
