Clearly, the author of this brief presentation does not believe. As with most of life's important questions, it is a matter of faith. I believe the "Relief Mine" is an authentic venture, as is the Book of Mormon itself: the greater fulfillment reserved after the trial of the Gentile Saints. There is much more history about both the early support & later opposition by the Church, as Bishop Koyle made many exact 'prophecies' that came to pass while then current church leadership were 'contradicted' or 'shown-up' by their fulfilment. D&C 111 is connected to this mine, otherwise being an odd event. And yes, I am a shareholder since late 1970's, & an active LDS temple attender, though this Mine story is almost universally unknown. Perhaps this video will pique some interest?

I don't believe in it. Ogden Kraut's and Norman Pierce's books both tell very tall tales of predictions made by Koyle that they heard second, third or fourth hand from friends of friends of friends that I find very difficult to buy. Few predictions were uttered directly *to* them, and the predictions that "came true" only did so when the alleged predictions were generously loosened. Such as "The upper workings of the mine will be the first to produce." They "produced first" when a floatation/reduction process salesperson came through and presented them with their gold reduction process, in which the salesman planted selenium into the limestone and quartzite "ore" in a predetermined location from the upper workings and processed it. They then repurchased the concentrated selenium from the Koyle Mining Company for $103. That's the one load of ore that was processed, which I discussed in the video.
Pierce and Kraut BOTH credited this event as "the upper workings producing first". Can it really be a prophecy if it's a guided demonstration? The salesmen were told which rock from the mine to process, so it became a bit of a self fulfilling prophecy. Both authors claimed that Koyle was instructed never to write anything down, which conveniently opens the door to retroactive "predictions" heard once again from a friend, of a friend, of a friend. Reading many of Koyle's alleged prophecies all scream "retroactive revelation", to me. The way they're "written" seems to be as follows: 1.) Event Happens. 2.) Koyle or a Dream Miner hear about it. 3.) Dream Miner supposes "hey, I think Koyle said something about this at one point or another. 4.) The specifics are hashed out after the fact to attempt to add credit to the claim. There's no documentation or journaling to refer to from Koyle because he never wrote anything down, which means there's zero recorded evidence of any of his predictions coming to fruition, and allows "prophecies" to change. Which means this entire story is anecdote, and shaky *at best*.
The only way I'm believing in this Mine is if I'm given the opportunity to inspect the working faces of the mine, and see the alleged "capstone" for myself, which I personally believe is a plutonic batholith from 29million year old igneous intrusions that uplifted the Wasatch Range during the Sevier Orogeny. That or it's made up entirely, to excuse that the mine ran out of money, motivation, or both, to continue working the mine.
I'm glad you have something to believe in. But once again, for me, I'll believe it when I see it.

Belief is a resilient thing as it can survive mounting opposing evidences, contradictions and obstacles and failures. Believers easily dismiss all the critics, because to them hope feels better and is a virtue, as it must be true. This dream mine is what is called "the sunk cost fallacy" in action. Some people double down and believe even more when prophecies fail, It is a strange phenomenon, but one that is easily taken advantage of by visionaries. Excellent video!

My grandfather had stock in this. My father got letters about transferring stock to him, but my Dad had no interest in it. He said that it did not follow the proper chain of command. Basically, since Koyle was just a random Bishop and not the President of the church that this was likely a false revelation. A story dreamed up by a man who had exceeded his authority. He would likey agree with James E Talmage. There is likely nothing of great worth in that mountain. Also, for the church to need the gold, it would need to incur debt. The church has no debt and is flush with cash from tithing and other donations. Unless the church changes its financial policy, the church will never need the gold from the so called relief mine.

I have been familiar with this story for 60 years. Bishop John Koyle, Jr. was excommunicated from the CoJCoLDS by my cousin, the Stake President, pursuant to instructions from the 1st Presidency. Over half of Koyle's predictions have come true. The major ones still ahead include the prediction that US Dollars will be come worthless and that the Quorum of the 12 Apostles will be divided 6 and 6, making the Church unable to move ahead. Most of the money for the mine was raised from selling stock in the mine during the 1920s, which ended with the Stock Market Crash. The mine owners have paid for 24-hour security of the mine property since the project closed down in 1937. Can you imagine how much they have paid and continue to pay? We are not required to believe any of this, but clearly many of the prophesies are already fulfilled. It would not surprise me either way whether or not the rest are ever fulfilled. It is not something any of us has control over.

It is interesting to note that when John Kolye was digging this mine with the help of all those who believed in his visions the LDS Church was not a wealthy church by any means. They however are now! Worth as much as $150 billion.
So if true, the visions John Koyke claimed to have which lead to the creation of the dream mine it becomes prudent to ask why? Why would it be necessary now, especially with all the wealth the Church now has at its disposal?
    Here is my answer.
Perhaps the day will come when the Church will no longer have the wealth it has now and will be unable to help the world ii it's time of need. Perhaps, if and when that day comes the dream or relief mine will be reopened to fulfill its original purpose: To provide relief to all of those who will be desperately in need!

The brass plates Nephi got from Laban's treasury, were not the plates given to Joseph Smith on September 22nd 1827. The plates that were given to Joseph Smith that day by the angel Maroni are the gold plates that were an abridgment of the records of the people of Nephi by Maroni's father, Mormon.
We know the plates Koyal claimed were in a mine in Southern Utah are not there, because the resurrected Maroni as an angel showed Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdry all of the records and the sword of Laban in a room built by Mormon, that had all the records of the Nephites, with the sword of Laban, etc. in the hill Cumorah in upstate NY. The plates were moved by the angel Maroni after the witness. In 2009 a verification of the witness by Oliver Cowdry and Joseph Smith of the plates of Nephi in a room in the hill Cumorah in upstate NY was realized when a young boy who came up missing on the hill Cumorah was found in the entrance of a room with ancient looking bricks supporting the walls. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints quickly sealed the room with a metal plate.

Reminds me of the legend of the Caleb Rhoades mines. It is fact that the Spanish were in Utah mining gold, or rather the native slaves held by the Spanish were doing all the mining. And I've heard that as late as the very early 20th century the Spanish were hauling gold out of the Uintas in long mule-trains through what is now Spanish Fork and on down to Mexico. And funny enough, just today I heard a man say that Brigham Young said, while looking into City Creek Canyon, "I see more gold than anywhere in the world." Never heard that before.

@@-.Steven there's many folk tales out here I want to cover, such as the lost Rhoades mine. That one's a big one on my list. Unfortunately the Uintas are 90% Oolite, limestone , slate, shale and quartzite. All sedimentary in nature with few igneous intrusions that would carry any sort of lode gold. That mountain range formed from rifting and deposition of marine and lacustrian materials. It's miles and miles of fossils, and little ore.
The only way you're getting gold out of those mountains is if you dig miles deep into the granite bedrock below the mountains, and even then there's little guarantee you'll find it.
There's always a chance of a placer deposit from eroded pre-existing lodes but it's doubtful. I've spent a lot of time panning and prospecting those mountains and didn't really find much worth working for.

It may seem silly to some but is that often not the case when people chose to follow their faith?
Believing in the Bible is silly to some and believing that Joseph Smith was actually a true prophet of God is considered silly by many more than some.
But does it being silly to the multitudes make it any less true to the believers? Nay!
I have studied much about John Koyle and his dream mine since I first heard about it some 25 years ago. What I learned was John Koyle was a very honest and humble man who had a very strong testimony in his LDS faith. He was even once a Bishop.
But he put his membership on the line to do something he claimed that God, through an Angel commanded him to do. He kept that faith even though it eventually cost him that membership in Jesus Christ restored Church.
I personally think that mighty noteworthy. It is also mighty noteworthy that he was able to get mined and built what he did through the entirety of his adult life. In fact, most of the work on the dream mine was accomplished during the years of the Great Depression.
So go ahead and call it silly. It will be interesting to see what time ultimately shows and proves? Who then will be truly the silliest? The non-believer or the believer?

They wanted the mill close to the mine entrance, which was up high on the hill. The mine entrance is near level with the top of the mill.
The mill would be powered by flowing water and gravity. Ore would be deposited into a crusher, run across a shaker to separate denser material, run through sluices to trap denser metals, then run through a roaster to clean and dry the ores. The clean and dried ore would then make its way into a hydrolysis tank, where an anode absorbs impurities and electrical current deposits pure metals onto a cathode for concentration. The cathode is removed, and the metals are stripped either mechanically or with acids, smelted, minted into bars, and shipped. At least that's the theory, but this mine never really produced much and the mill never saw any gold. Only selenium.
All of this would happen from top-to-bottom, and gravity would be the driver.

Then he used those same Danites to inflict and enforce blood atonement(even Yeshua's blood couldn't help these people). Joseph would be proud of the of the 501c3 tax exempt, criminal property management corporation, masquerading as a religion that he created. I didn't say these relics are possibly in the mine. I said that John Koyle Jr and his dream miners *claimed* these relics were in the mine. Very different things.
I've been inside the Granite Mountain Records Storage facility. It's just rows, and rows, and rows of filing cabinets full of microfilms and hard drives. Plenty of records. There are no swords, golden plates or seer stones there. It's exclusively a records vault built to protect microfilms and hard drives from universal background radiation damage, and it's not the only records vault in that canyon. Any relics in the LDS Churches possession are kept at the LDS Church Museum in Salt Lake City which is curated by the Church History Department. The Church makes no claims of possessing the Sword of Laban, the Golden Plates, Breastplate or the Urim and Thummim allegedly returned to the hill Cumorah in Manchester. They have possession of the seer stone that Joseph Smith kept on his person that he claimed he used to translate the Book of Mormon looking into a hat.
I'm not perpetuating false narratives. I'm retelling an interesting story about the Dream Mine that I don't believe in, but I'm still fascinated by. Don't confuse me for someone who's uneducated on this topic, because you'll be sorely mistaken. My research is sound, and I'm extremely confident in its accuracy. You're confused about what you think you know, but have placed yourself out of your own depth here.

    • @SJHollist

@mountainmikeoutdoors you do say it is just one man's claim, and not nessisary fact, but you don't make it clear you don't believe it. Why perpetuate a clearly faults narrative, especially if you don't believe it?
This is how stupid crazy rumors start. Like how I've heard many people claim there are sacred artifacts in the church vaults up cottonwood canyon; which maybe isn't true, or maybe you just weren't shown everything in them. I haven't been in them, but I've been in the commercially operated ones a little further up the canyon.

    • @mountainmikeoutdoors
      @mountainmikeoutdoors  13 днів тому +1

First of all, it's completely clear that I don't believe in this story. Especially if you stick around to the end when I explicitly say "I'll believe it when I see it." Saying "this is what he said but I don't believe it" is horrendous storytelling and kills the interest from viewers/readers. I'm here to share interesting stories, not my own opinions.
Second, I am not perpetuating a false narrative. I am not a proponent of the mine. I am not selling mine shares. I am not telling people to go out and buy shares. I am sharing an interesting story that has been told and recounted for over 100 years now by people I know. I'm reiterating local folklore, because local folklore is also valuable history to me. There are entire history departments dedicated to myths, folklore, urban legends and other adjacent topics. I am sharing the legacy of that folklore, here, for entertainment purposes. If you believe that somehow perpetuates some ulterior agenda then that's exclusively a "you" problem.
Third, this isn't how crazy rumors "start". This is how they "spread". This is an interesting story that I find fascinating, thus I will share this story however I please. The rumor and story itself has existed for a century, and I'm not the first to talk about it. I'm just the first to put so much effort into production.
Fourth, the LDS church's official position on the possession of the artifacts mentioned in this video is "No, we don't have them.". You should probably look into that *first* before you start buying into rumors of secret sacred relics stored in man made cave facilities.
This is the last response I'll be entertaining you with. Find less silly hills to die on.

MORMONS MISINTERPRETATION OF EZEKIEL 37 "STICK OF JOSEPH AND STICK OF JUDAH."
You assume that the "Stick of Judah" is the Bible, while the "Stick of Joseph" is the Book of Mormon. In the latter days, the two have been joined together, forming the bulk of Mormon scripture. Mormonism's literal interpretation of scripture does not extend to hundreds of passages it rejects as corrupted or that it skews to suit its own purposes. In the case of Ezekiel 37, Mormons not only neglect the plain sense of the words, but also ignore there true interpretation, given by God-in the very same chapter. First, the Hebrew term translated as "stick" (aits) is never use anywhere in the Old Testament to mean "Book," "scroll", "writing", or anything similar. It is variously translated as "wood", or "branch", "timber", or "tree."
Needless to say, the Book of Mormon allegedly written on metal plates, not scrolls or sticks.
Second, the correct interpretation of this symbolic action of the prophet is given just a few verses later. Ezekiel is to take the two sticks, put them end to end and hold the joined ends in his hand. He thus displays to the people a "single" stick, once again united. This is to show that the scattered remnants of the southern kingdom ("Judah ") and northern kingdom of Israel ("Joseph") will be returned from exile, restored to their land, and made one nation again.
"They shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all" (Ezekiel 37:22). With Divine impetus, Ezekiel first spoke of this parable of redemption then enacted it. Only Mormonism can manage to mistake "timber" for "scrolls" and "nations" for "metal plates."
As the text makes clear, this is a prophecy of national reunification, not about the appearance of hidden scriptures.

The Book of Moses lining up perfectly with The Books of Enoch; names matching almost flawlessly; apocryphal books of which Joseph Smith TOTALLY had access to.
Horse bones dating back to BoM times(though I don't trust dating methods myself.)
Over eleven witnesses sworn affidavit to the Book of Mormon's authenticity, each in turn NEVER denying their testimony, some even after leaving the church. Why not reveal all of the lies and fraudulent claims of Joseph Smith after leaving the church? Some were even willing to die for what they believed in. One of the 19 witnesses, Mary Whitmer, was even shown the plates by an angel; Joseph Smith was not even present at the time. It's amazing that Joseph Smith could hypnotize people into believing something without even being in the same location as the person he’s hypnotizing.
      Messianic symbolism in Mayan culture.
Apocryphal Isaiah quoted in the BoM.
A what looks like man-made hole found in the hill Cumorah where Joseph Smith received the plates.

Native American traditions and legends lining up with BoM.

Ancient Cement found, as mentioned in the BoM
Ezekiel 37 speaking of one Stick of Joseph, going hand in hand with The Stick of Judah(Bible.)
Other sheep not of this fold, as spoken by Jesus Christ.
Sealed book and uneducated figure spoken of in Isaiah 29.
Also in the Bible: Malchiah son of Hemmelech(son of the king,) MLK in Hebrew, matching up with Mulek from the Book of Mormon.
Book of Mormon timeline matching up with the Bible.
A three year period of famine showing in cavern formation buildup that aligns with the famine of 3rd Nephi.
Ancient pollen data shows fluctuations that align with the timber-harvesting timeline in the Book of Mormon.
      Numerous internal prophecies fulfilled.
On a sidenote, the Papyri that was left to test was only a fraction of what was originally there. Secondly, Joseph Smith could have received direct revelation from God, and the Papyri were merely meant as a trial of our faith for all I care. Why do you want me to test my God?? It is the opposite that we as Latter Day Saints desire. I thank you for fulfilling scripture, thereby increasing my testimony of the divinity of the Book of Mormon even further.
Thirdly, we learn from the BoM that due to the wickedness of the people, their swords were cursed so that they became slippery and were lost, never to be found again if they were let go. What with the people of the BoM becoming entirely wicked in the end, it only makes sense that a lack of evidence shows in the archaeological record today. Again, fulfilling scripture instead of refuting it.
If you say there is no evidence for the Book of Mormon, you're dead wrong. Could you please put forth some evidence AGAINST The Book of Mormon, by chance? Sorry if this has offended anyone. Please, read The Book of Mormon. Learn more about the God and Christ you ALREADY know about. Peace. Stick of J. YT chan. and BOM Central has good evidences content.

The dream mine is nothing but an empty mountain 🏔️. It’s what you call a modern day Ponzy Scheme. Only it’s probably the longest running one in history. There’s nothing in that mountain 🏔️. Now to other mountains in this vast region I would say otherwise.

Only water comes out of the mine.

There is actually gold in that mountain but there's so little it wouldn't be profitable to mine it.

I had family in Utah and Sanpete counties. One brother invested the company’s retirement funds in Dream Mine stock. It was worthless.
Sadly, they were driving school buses, delivering mail and other menial tasks into their 70’s and 80’s.
If it sounds too good to be true……
