These are the kind of scores I prefer to see for the DGPT. Great improvements to the difficulty of Toboggan. It will take consistently great shots to win this one
I went back and watched it in slow motion and the guy did a great job. To his right someone was blocking his view and moved about 1 to 2 seconds before and he just flings himself back just in time. Great job, man!
This is what pro level tournament courses should look like. This will be awesome to watch the next few days. Players have to really earn the birdies. Good scoring separation.
You guys have gotten really, REALLY good at commentary. Consistently entertaining and setting the standard. Everyone else has gotten better too, but you two + Nate are as good at this as anyone doing it in any other sport.
After the "he's not kicking Ricky's disc" slip up at Ledgestone BigJerm is really playing with fire at 31:37 lololol! You guys are the best, keep having fun!
Really amazing how good these guys are. Holed 50’ putts are routine. Out of position second shots under the basket … no big deal. Completely different level.
Can't wait for the next card, some of my favorite Crazies😂. Who knows... could be gold, or iron. All I know is coffee and jomez sounds good on a Saturday.
KJ was my outside pick for successful season. He just has all the shots in the bag. Has been falling short at the start of the season but he’s definitely on fire right now.
Love these kind of scores and course difficulty. Love to see the fustration and how the pros deal with adversity. Hope to see more courses that will challenge the pros like DGLO in the future.
So question - when they determine the length of a hole how do they do that? Is it by laser sighting or do they tape measure it like you would with a parking lot? I only ask because I'm an avid follower of Jomez and so often I hear Jerm or Uli or Nate question the length of the hole as stated at the tee. Thanks ahead of time for any insight into this question!
They laser it if they can see the basket from the tee. If it's a dogleg or something, they laser to the landing zone then laser to the basket from there and add the distances. When the commentators claim holes play long or short it's usually a result of elevation changes, because a 350 foot throw up a huge hill might require 450 feet worth of power. Also sometimes holes have low ceilings, or require a specific shot shape which makes throwing directly at the basket effectively impossible despite seeing it from the tee. So if a hole is 350 feet away but there's a mando forcing a big hyzer that has to be thrown 90 feet right of the basket and fade back again it might take more power than the distance would suggest. Finally, yes, sometimes the distances are just obviously not right, and I'm sure the reasons why this happens vary, but _usually_ they mean the required throwing force is higher or lower than the actual distance would suggest.
I get what Uli is saying, Ricky got that huge iron finger pivot with really stable discs. If they had to penetrate a wall it looks like Rickys disc would do the best for some reason. And his form actually looks more stiff over the years even though the shot looks harder which makes me think even more that its all about that iron finger of his. and he missed alot of the tour and is still top 4. he aint going away anytime soon. his shot choices are usually pretty simple to, he doesnt go for those advanced Isaac angles that often. Hes also probably still top scrambler in the world
1st round ties are based off PDGA #, so Simon being the old man he is has the lowest # of anyone -5, then later rounds are based off who shot the better round with PDGA# being a 2nd tiebreaker
I have a question to the jomez crew...is it not allowed to lightened up the course with artificial light because of the pdga rules, or is it only a organisation problem?
Jomez really needs to start showing the meters. And elevation would be also great on these kinds of courses so we viewers would have more idea how much the elevation change actually is since it does not translate to camera most of the times.
Uli's take about Ricky being the farthest throwing in tournament is crazy. Ricky is up there but he's obviously not in the same league as guys like AB and Eagle.
Agreed. Ricky is particularly good at absolutely bombing those pushing hyzer shots, which is what I think Uli was trying to say, but there's no way guys like AB aren't throwing significantly higher velocity than Ricky and therefore have much higher total distance potential. Ricky is just really damn consistent at getting big hyzer distance specifically.
He also has a new disc from Millennium called the Vela which sounds like a less stable fairway driver than an Eagle or Teebird, but more stable than a Eagle-L or TL. He may start using that more.

Very, VERY different course. Nearly every hole was easier. Only one hole is the same. No OB on 1, hole 2 was a par 5, no OB on 3, hole 4 was much shorter, 5 completely different hole... This continues until hole 13 (former hole 12) and then continues thru 18

You must be new here. Lead card is the top 4 scores from the previous day. Paul and Jerm haven’t played well enough to be on the lead cards Jomez covers in a while until last week when Jerm was on Chase (2nd) card and Paul finished in 4th I think. They’re not top 10 players but they’ll have plenty more top 10 finishes in their careers.
Nerves? What? Perhaps his tournament stamina and consistency didn't fully recover after contracting Lyme disease, which really hit him hard, but nerves are probably the least of his worries and I'll still be very surprised if I don't see him take down any majors in the future. Ricky is still among the best on the course most weekends, which is incredibly inspiring given the steep uphill battle he's had to overcome to get back up to the top of these leaderboards (which happened to be harder to climb than before he got Lyme disease). So, don't count Ricky out prematurely.
I don't know if it's always this bad, but lately Paul's commentary is just awful. Terrible takes (No one throws further than Ricky? what?), snoozing on the job, and just saying nonsense.

I think Corey Ellis could make 1000 twenty footers in a row. I’d maybe take marwede as well. On that card I’d have to take Rick cuz he’s got the focus
Also feel like prime climo would give Mcbeth a run for his money on the putting green, dudes career c1 stats were pretty ridiculous.
