There was that running gag in the original series where Eric thought Luke and Leia were in love, since the 70s only had the first Star Wars.
I'd like to see what Eric's reaction was to finding out they were siblings.
I wanna know what his reaction was to Vader being Luke's father more, that's would've been hilarious to see
@@gojira8563 Given the persistent volatility of Eric's relationship with Red, he would immediately twig to the full import of Vader's paternity.
@ryan jones Yeah That 70s Show's timeline was 1976-1979, so maybe they could make that 90s show be like 1993-1999
@ryan jones Yeah but not confirmed. And are you sure they had her right away in 1980? Although yeah, 70s Show ended on New Years Eve 1979/80, and then Eric and Donna presumably got back together, went married after some time, and then probably they wanted a kid too so they made one asap xD Makes some sense ig
I’m sure we’re gonna get those references
The fact that they were able to get Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp, who didn’t even wanna do sitcoms anymore, you know this script is good
Kurtwood Smith looks and dresses a lot the way that my dad does. I know years from now when my dad does pass, I'll be tuning in to That '70s show to remind me of the good times.
But, considering that the show is set only a few hundred miles away from where he grew up, and Kurtwood himself is the only cast member from Wisconsin, that was almost inevitable. I'm sure I'm not alone in that experience. There was something authentic about the way that he played the character that doubtless reminds many people of a relative.
@@SmallSpoonBrigade Debra Jo Rupp looks almost exactly like my mom, who is actually named Deborah. Her personality is very similar. She tries to keep a cool head, but she will eventually blow up. When she does, you’d better do what she says!
I feel like they respect that they will forever be red and kitty and just wanted to pay homage to that
Well they both were on the ranch which was a sitcom so I don't think they didn't want to do any but it's still good they are coming back
@@yelsew6907 the ranch was kinda a tribute to that 70s show in a way
I realise there's a reason for that, but... Hyde was my favourite character, I'm really going to miss him.
I hope that the trial and all that resolves itself towards justice and that means he can have his name cleared. But, not having been there when any of the alleged crimes were alleged to have happened, I don't have any way of knowing if he did it.
@@SmallSpoonBrigade They came forward despite him and his wife and the church of Scientology all attempting to silence them. There’s more than one (four I believe) and at that point I honestly feel like it’s not just a coincidence. Plus he took a literal selfie with his wife on the way to court and posted it to instagram. To me that feels like he’s not taking this seriously at all and expects the church to again just take care of it. Danny Masterson can absolutely eat shit. Why would they lie about it? It may be “alleged” but the truth is, it looks pretty obvious.
@@SmallSpoonBrigade Yeah... Pretty sure he did it though. Multiple long term girlfriends and random women describe the exact same scenario. He admitted it to his ex immediately following doing it (drug/assault). The only reason there is this uncertainty is because the church of scientology used their corrupt lawyers to try and protect him from justice.
I'm with you guys though, he was always personally my favorite character so a part of me is definitely sad I won't get to see him in it. But there is a pretty good reason.
Justice for Danny!
There gonna be like, who would of guessed it would be Hyde that ended up in jail lol. Or something like that lol. I'm pretty sure there gonna bring him up in the show.
I was kinda hoping to see an older version of Bettsy aka Kelsos daughter in a leading role but I do hope they at least give an update cameo about her and Brook.
Don’t forget Betsy 😂
Kelso's daughter would only be around a year older than these other kids, so it's weird that she's not a main cast member off the bat.
Bettys lives in Illinois, Kelso movies there in season 8 to be closer to his daughter, so she lives in a different state then the rest
@@dustingoins3428 it’s possible she could make cameos for holidays too
I really fell like they’ll definitely have her cameo or add her to the roster in later seasons.
I'm so excited for this show. Unlike the abomination that was "That 80's Show", it actually has ties to its parent series, some old cast members are returning, and Kitty and Red are going to be major characters, which is great, since they are both hilarious.
I heard the 90s show was bs 🤣
There was a 80's show?! When? They obviously didn't promote it, because I would have loved to watch it.
@@luvprue1 it sucked bad
Wait.. I never noticed because I was 7, is that the dude from Always Sunny?
@@brettvonhenneberg-romhild3535 Yes it is. 🤣
That 70s RETROspective.
Personally I hope they get Don Stark back as Bob, even for one episode assuming he moved from Point Place.
When did Bob move away? I haven’t watched the show in years
@@John-Doe-Yo I saying he could have to explain why he's not a listed lead.
I would love if he came back for the summer and crashed in Laurie's room, to be able to spend time with his granddaughter and his old pal red
@@AussieDragoon oh alright
Hey there, hi there, ho there.
I think it'll be easy enough to write out Hyde's absence in several possible ways given his character's penchant for rebellious and sometimes criminal behavior, like maybe hes off riding with an MC or serving time in prison
What happened to Hyde?
@@BigBass-xf5yi he's a rapist
@@BigBass-xf5yi The actor has been criminally charged, and I don't know that the case has reached a verdict yet. Unless he gets acquitted, it's uncertain when he'll be hired for more work. He's maintained that it was an anti-scientology hit job, but who knows, we weren't there.
Bunch of rape allegations and his Scientology buddies threatening some of the accusers and 'allegedly' killing two of their dogs. He goes on trial in August.
@@SmallSpoonBrigade even if he manages to beat all the charges, there's no way they're bringing him back
Honestly, I'm hopeful for this sequel, the only problem is that Netflix is known for canceling good original series.
Yes, but they may well have learned their lesson recently. I hope that they've reigned int heir greenlight authority and will allow successful shows to proceed past 3 seasons. Still, 3 seasons is not a bad run for a show. Star Trek and GIlligan's Island both only made it to 3 seasons, albeit with more episodes than you'd get in a modern 3 season series.
Well, it's a spinoff to a huge successful series and it's only gay character is in a supporting role, so the show looks pretty safe for now
@@SmallSpoonBrigade that's my problem. Not the seasoms moreso the episode number. Back then shows had more episodes in a season. Even that 70s show had 25+ episodes in some seasons. I wouldn't mind if they did make a season 2 of that 90s show and for it to have 15+ episodes. Nowadays netflix makes like 3 season max of new shows and each season with 8-10 episodes sometimes even less, like smh...
Leo making it into the nineties will be impressive.
He'll be like, What!? It's the 90's man? (Holds up bag of weed) What was in this stuff man? Haha
That 70s RETROspective please!!!
I am so excited for that 90s show!!! I wasn’t at first but just like you said, the more I hear about it, the more I want it! Plus 90s nostalgia is always good for us as that’s the generation most of us grew up in. Fingers crossed that the show doesn’t suck. I can’t live through another that 80s show!
Most of us grew up in the 2010s Gen Z at least 💅
90s nostalgia always makes my day!! Being a '90s kid & all!
@@a.x.x8184
Huh? You weren’t watching that 70s show as gen z. The show ended in 2006. Lmfao. Nice try.
Kelso's kid should be in this as well being the ring leader you know being older and all
"Everyone is coming back!" Well, I would be surprised if it was really *everyone*
Yeah. Laurie’s dead, Hyde is ick. Blurgh.
It will be so good to hear Red yell "DUMBASS" to one of the new kids.
I bet he will act like he wants to say it, but won't until the very end of the first episode when he finally gives a lesson at the end haha.
I’m hoping we’ll see Kelso’s daughter Betsy.
Do you think she’ll be dumb like Kelso 😂
Definitely going to be a nostalgia trip for us Milennials that grew up in the 90's!!!
Gonna be about the diverse kids instead with some cameos.
@@Uninspired.Spectator
Yeah. Can’t have anything these days without woke/diversity shoved down our throats.
This spin-off show needs to answer a lot of questions . For example, what country is Fez really from ..? Or where was Laurie during the last season of the show.
Fez is from dutch Virginia island! they already figure it out! thought you should know!
Not "Fez", it is "FES" Foreign Exchange Student.
That 70s show is my all time favourite sitcom (along with scrubs and malcolm in the middle) and I cannot think of a reboot I'd desire more.
Malcolm in the Middle is my favorite hands down, simply for keeping the entire cast the whole time. I'd rather forget season 8 of That 70's Show
That 70's RETROspective.
I really hope it's good. Gonna feel weird without Hyde, but you know... there's a good reason Danny Masterson is absent.
A good reason? What's this good reason? He's been accused of doing something. Nothing has been proven and he hasn't been found guilty. How is that a good reason? If someone accused you of something and you just lost your job and livelihood over it, would you call that fair?
He didn't do anything, his absence is bullshit
@@richspeck8932 the Amber Heard fiasco proves your right
@@alexryherd9810 he's a scientologist, of course he's also a rapist
If you believe in leftist bullshit.
We all know they’re going to have to address Hyde and his whereabouts but I’m dying to know if Randy Pierson gets a mention at all
Theory of how Hyde will be written out:
(Scene, Eric and Donna dropping off Leia at the Forman residence at the kitchen entrance)
Eric: by the way, what happened to Hyde? He stopped calling or writing back for over a year now
Kitty: (shocked/worried face)
Red: Eric... you know I have a heart condition, why would you mention that DUMBASS? (Tense pause) I'm going fishing!
(Eric, Donna, and Kitty all look shocked as Red downs a can of beer and leaves)
Eric: oh... shoot 😳
Kitty: Eric... now why did you have to do that?
Leia: I don't get it what's the big deal?
Eric: Leia you have to understand, grandpa never goes fishing unless he's really really really mad!
Leia: but, grandpa's always mad?
Eric: oh no... that was him being nice... get used to that... mom, what the hell happened?
Kitty: (scrambling to pull out a blender and cocktail mixers and hastily pouring herself a drink and taking a big sip) well honey, I don't know how to tell you this but... Steven's in prison... ahhahahaha! (downs rest of her drink)
Eric: wait what? Mom why didn't you tell us? What is he in prison for?
Kitty: ....it's best we don't talk about it
Red: (coming back out with fishing gear) all right I'm off, now unless you want my foot up your ass don't come looking for me until I'm done!
Hahaha nice man. I know they're gonna mention it somehow lol
You actually think the Forman's would be shocked that Hyde would be in prison? Did you forget the job interview for that fast food joint? Interviewer: where do you see yourself in 5 years? Hyde: Prison. That is, if they don't go all nuts and kill him off.
I really hope so. I liked Red and Kitty very much. I hope it rocks.
I'm crazy excited for that 90s show, been waiting for this since it went off the air, told a buddy that a 90s show would be a easy thing to do in like 10 years
my 1st time visiting this channel and I'd say YES do the 70s show stuff man
That's 70 show RETROspective. Would love to see it.
That 70s RETROspective.
Please do it! I absolutely adore your 70s Show content. It’s my all time favorite sitcom & I love your passion for it (cause I can so relate)
This is the most exciting reboot! I can’t wait for your review on it too!
I always thought the reason they made a that 70s show to begin with was because it was a decade with less of a cultural satying power in terms of its trends and had less of a prototypical idea of what it was like in that specific decade. Wouldn't it make more sense to jump up to the 2000s then? Maybe I just imagined that being why.
wut?
Disco my guy, disco
You are onto something there. As one who experienced the 1970s (finished high school in 1970, spent 1971 - 1973 in Sunny Southeast Asia, married in 1974, became a divorced single dad in 1980), the first half of that ten year period seems like five years of long, pointless, rotting breakdown of the late starting ‘60s era. The second half of the 1970s was an anxious formless segue to the crisper, more intentional, started very nearly on time, 1980s decade.
i thought the same thing!
I lived thru the '70s. It was the TRUE decade of change, not the overrated '60s. The counterculture trends of the very late '60s, did not spread until the '70s. America came of age in that decade. Most social, political, financial attitudes in recent decades can be traced to the '70s. What was trendy & short-lived in the '60s, became a way of life in the '70s.
that 70s retrospective!
im so excited about this new show ive aleardy binged s1 last night when I should have finnished my final economics eassy
That 70s RETROspective! I would love to see a season by season breakdown of That 70s Show.
You just blew my mind with that Fez fact. I watched nearly the entire series back int he day and never knew that.
That 70s RETROspective.
Loved That 70s Show since it aired and I hope that That 90s Show is a smidge as good. So happy to see Kurt and Debra back as Red and Kitty! Maybe we'll see a resurgence of 90s fashion, like we saw the resurgence of 70s fashion during the first show's run.
Yes I would love to see a That 70's RETROspective
Can’t wait to check it out!
You had me all the way u til you said a written character trait is “gay best friend”. Being gay isn’t a character trait. And if they consider it as one it just seems like lazy writing.
It’s still Netflix. They have their diversity checklist to maintain.
As much as I liked the 70's show growing up I can't wait to see what they would do with the 90's show ,because people my age and friends as well all grew up in that Era.
I’m so excited!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
They all worked together on The Ranch so the chemistry is still there
Great video man, seriosly.
That 70’s RETROspective
It’s so funny that a show that a huge part of my childhood is now making a sequel set in the decade I grew up in 😂 I’m veryyy excited though!
I would love to see see a that 70s RETROspective its easily one of my favorite shows
Is Netflix going to put That 70s Show back on Netflix? I honestly don't remember a lot of the major plot lines and would like to re-watch before this new show
Try using an antenna, no cable, just OTR TV. It's on the channel: LAFF Channel on free tv. Not on Cable, I guess, unless the certain Cable Company carries the LAFF Channel. In Detroit MI it's on 7.3. I love that channel n also MeTV Channel, 4.3 in DT MI area. They are free channels, yay !!!!!

Peacock tv has all seasons.
i am so excited for this show i am rewatching all of that 70s just for this

This could be amazing. My jr high and high school years all spent in the 90s. The golden years
They should make a prequel called That 40s Show with when Red was a teenager.
I don't even watch sitcoms or have seen any of this show , but Vee just make 2 much bangers 🤣
you really really should! it doesn’t disappoint

An extra 8 Vee Infuso videos? Why not?
Does anyone know the release date, the Google date May it's now June and it's still not out on Netflix. I would really like to know when it's supposed to be out?
Being a 90's kid, I'll be so happy to see if they do That 90's Show right. They NEED writers who grew up in the 90's or they'll just fill it with inauthentic feeling nostalgia bait like Stranger Things did with the 80's. Like the worst thing they could do is bring on writers that didn't directly experience the 90's. It needs to feel authentic.
If you think these writers aren't going to put today's politics in this show, you are dreaming my friend. That is all they do now. For instance, when I read the synopsis of the new characters, the first thing they said about one of them was they are gay. As in that's their entire character, instead of being a human being that likes games or music, or anything else. The entire character exists just to be gay
@@richspeck8932 So true. I was stoked when i found out this was coming out All the way up until i found that out. As a HUGE How i met your mother fan, i can say the inclusion of characters just because of their sexuality, race, gender etc. is not a good sign. Thats what they did in How i met you father and it sucks. Tbf thats fair from that shows ONLY issue, but still. Fingers crossed, but that fact did get my hopes down. (not saying there shouldnt be gay characters or anything, but that shouldnt be a main character trait. Just like how being gay irl doesnt mean thats ALL you are 😅)
@@richspeck8932 I was a 90s teenager and we had a few gay kids in school and they did hide it or repressed it very well unless you they personally knew you
@@thepubknight6144 same. Gay people existed but the amount of "out and proud" kids back then were probably limited to very progressive areas of the country, so if they have some flamboyantly gay kid from Wisconsin always being gay as hell, it's not going to be realistic unless he gets mocked or beat up for it sometimes. Lol sad but true.
@@richspeck8932 Being gay and super out in the 90s wasn't a huge thing. It existed but they didn't have the liberty of running around with a pride flag hollering it.
