the audi 90 sport quattro (short version) was also a supercar at its time
2021 and it still looks incredible! Love how small and sleek it is compared to moderns cars getting bigger and bigger, its defiantly next on the list for me if the pennies allow in a year or 2s time

Why is this argument on every single german car video or forum. Any bmw M is good, any AMG Mercedes is good and the Audi R8 is good. They are all awesome cars. These cars are made to go fast and make you feel good. If you choose any of them you have done well. Stop arguing and accept they are all great cars.

Not a big fan of Audis but this stands out. I watched NG Megafactories episode regarding R8. What was impressive was how well the body is build, plus the fact that 98% of what you buy is used in GT racing. I would buy one just for that.
The gen 1 looks so good even now in 2023, it looks more striking than the gen 2 in my opinion. Better lines, sleeker profile and full length side blades!! Ooh Yesssss!!😁💯👌🏾
The r8s rear design looks so nice i hope audi never decides to dramatically change the design of the rear.

Holy crap, XCAR. Definitely your best work yet. My only criticism is that the voiced-over one-liners part way through made the video feel a bit choppy. Would've preferred you stick to Alex's in-car bits.

What's the point having a supercar if you can't rev your own gears... still, that's a gorgeous beast. I would love to tame it.
For me the benefit of the dsg auto is that it makes these cars viable daily drivers thus no need for 2 cars. Plus it kinda looks very Audi like and understated and I like that.

You're right, we think it's weird too. When we had the the V8 R8 in it had a manual and it was amazing, granted it's not as fast round a track but really, who cares, right? Have a look at our video on the V8 R8 for some manual action!

This R8 looks awesome but with that many used R8’s in the market I don’t there is enough “new” in it to be worth selling. That’s the problem with making something good from the first time: you have to move forward but you don’t want to ruin what you already have. Thought job. I hope Audi knows what they are doing and won’t just change headlight design every few years :/

I think the camera work these guys do is much better than Top Gear. Both are still great though.

I thought he was being sarcastic, Maybe not lol. The interior not aging well is not a problem because the electronics will fall apart before you have to worry about that.
Man as good as these sound the newer one is just on another sound wave
when i was a boy back in the early 90s i remember no one desire an Audi as they're the poor cousin of Mercedes & BMW. their boxy shape cars (the 90 & a4 etc) combine with quatto technology however always appeals to me somehow. how time has change.
I know this is all weather drive it's a QUATTRO i love audi r8 v10 plus.
This guy would be a brilliant reviewer if it weren't for the fact that there are three other people who coincidently have exactly the same presentation style: Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May.

I'm not a huge fan of the front 1/3 of the car, but the last 2/3 is gorgeous.

Supposedly it was. As a single clutch unit, it was known to be jerky/rough at slower speeds.

Brilliant presentation of one of the best supercars ever. The editing and enthusiastic review are fantastic. I wish the V10 sounded better - like the Lexus LFA's screamer of an engine note.

I can understand the reasoning behind the car but calling it the R8 V10 Plus?
Should have called it the "Critics Edition" instead of Plus.
The R8 range is the obvious rival for the 911, but it needs to be more diverse than what it currently offers.
Still looking great..in fact a lot more modern than some of the current cars….

You guys need to work with top gear. Both of your shows are fantastic. Granted top gear is a little bit bigger....
Because why change something that isn't broken? The 911 has been has similar for 50 years. Look at it now. Around 20,000 wins in motorsport, a great following, a great driver's car, etc.

The V8 R8 sounds better imo. It's not as quick, but it sounds better. I LOVE the sound of the RS6 too.
That wasn't used to be good, now it is with that amazing gearbox..

For the money, I would buy the standard v10 and add underground twin turbo system which bumps the hp to 850 at the wheels with 93 octane pump gas.
