There is a 2nd novel "El Filibusterismo". He was not able to finish his 3rd novel entitled "Makamisa". The first and second novels were banned by Spanish authorities in the Philippines because it exposes the corruption and abuse of the colonial government and the Catholic Church during those times.

I know I'm nitpicking, but it's a scene this good, so I almost wish they speak in slightly olden 1800s English. Not the lady but the gentlemen. There were several words back then that are now considered archaic. I know hardly anyone will notice it, but my old soul still wishes to hear it.

So pinaliwanag ko, kaya sila napatulala o namangha sa naibulalas ni Klay, na sa panahong ito ni Rizal, bibihira o actually wala pa talagang gaanong babaeng nakakapag aral sa mga unibersidad, unless pinanganak ka sa European country, or kahit mismo sa Europa iilan lang nabibigyan ng pagkakataong makakuha ng edukasyon sa iba't ibang larangan. Just a question, if this is a rip from Dr. Jose Rizal, No Li Me Tangere, was there any notable novels after Rizal? Or they were nit sensationalized? Or, they were blocked politically? Any historian to clear these? Salamat po.
There is a 2nd novel "El Filibusterismo". He was not able to finish his 3rd novel entitled "Makamisa". The first and second novels were banned by Spanish authorities in the Philippines because it exposes the corruption and abuse of the colonial government and the Catholic Church during those times.

Because there was even a newspaper during that time.
