I just bought the 360 head Arrow tool, first rivet worked fine, but the very second rivet stuck. And I'm out of town on a job and can't replace it. And I don't know what the point of this video was, he basically just said "it's really hard to take apart so just return it" -- which would have been great if he just said that and not make me watch the whole video
Update: I squeezed the handles closed, pushed the rivet stem back into the tool with a drill bit, tapped it upside down, and it fell right out through the back of the tool.
Mine get stuck in every time i use it in every gun ive tried. Am i a moron or what? Ive tried 3 guns now, and seriously almost half of mine get stuck in the gun. Dont understand what im doing wrong because i do it just like in the videos i watch. And its obviously not the tool, because ive tried numerous ones. Why do they build these peices of junk like this, or theres got to be a peice of info im missing.
This rivet gun is natorious for stuck rivets. Make sure you have right nose piece for rivet. Too tight will jamb to loose will jamb. Look at more videos the ones with more detail on how they put the rivets in. I had a hard time with rivet guns You learn with practise and technique.
wtf. Found this video after my 360 swivel head brand new arrow rivet tool got the 2nd rivet stuck in it. Customer picking up this piece tomorrow and half-broke rivet gun to try to finish it. 100% Bad product design. "Made In China" ?? The rivets were aluminum..
You've given a good demonstration for NOT buying this brand of riveter. They all get stuck at some point but this one is just way too complicated to take apart and you don't even show the whole process. Besides who has time to be sending tools back to the manufacturer.
when that happens to me, i just put a long screw head and press the stucked rivet all through the hole and at the same time press the guns trigger and that works great.
Arrow rejected my review on their site because it was negative, so I share it with you all! I switched from my old one because of the 360 degree head. Main problem is that the tool slips on the shaft of rivet and pulls about 1/64" each time. After a while the shaft breaks in the middle and I have to break it flush with pliers. The rivet shaft remains stuck inside the tool, so I have to open it sometimes. Also the 360 degrees head pivots too easily, you must hold the tool with both hands. VERY disappointed with this tool, if Arrow doesn't propose me something I'll just throw it away and switch to a black-and-yellow brand.
100% correct... I have the Arrow RT187M.. I have to open it after every rivet... The spent rivet shaft is held in so tight I can't get the next rivet in... F'n joke...
Just had this happen to me-I was riveting a square piece of metal to a big hole in my evap. cooler pan, and using a sealing glue: got four rivets in perfectly, then the tail end of fifth rivet got jammed inside the mechanism, impossible to pull or unstick, I even took the back plate off like you did, to no avail. It's still stuck, almost like it's welded in! Meanwhile, my glue is drying--this tool failure almost ruined my project-really pissed at arrow because this is brand new.....never again.
Arrow support told me: 'Try using the yellow head on the rivet tool once yellow head is attached squeeze the handle repeatedly while shaking the tool to allow the stuck piece come out. Since the yellow head is the largest size, the jaws will open more widely'. This worked for me. Very simple, very fast, no tools!
Bought this to rivet a rear door handle to a Ford ranger. Ended up doing 4- 3/16" 1/8" steel rivets. All 4 pins got stuck. To get it out, I held the handle in and beat the back on cement so hard that i was scared I would break the gun. I actually thought it was user error but after seeing this video and viewing the comments, I see I am not alone nor the problem. Oh well, it's going back today and I will search further for a reliable tool. Had anyone here found one that works better? If so, what did you buy?
This is ridiculous....I used one time....ONE and it gets stuck...so now I have to go buy some other stupid tool that'll only use hopefully once cause of their crappy manufacturing....my God do we build anything that doesn't fall apart anymore ...this is absurd..
There are several replies saying the same thing. Rivet getting jammed the first try. This model is the worst by far. I contacted them and they sent me a RH 200 model. Totally different design. So far this model works well.
@@JimMcLaren1950 please excuse my ranting n raving n bitchin n complaining for a minute but I remember a time we built things to last...now I love my God n country but I'll b damned if greedy CEO's and spineless manufactures hasn't caused this ...I mean this as in every damn thing u buy..what we built to last is now built to be broken...I'm sure u need a receipt or something before they replaced it. .most ppl throw those away as they walk out the door ....and they know it...they depend on it....damn shame what this country's becoming
Especially for as much as they charge. My very first Rivet post got stuck and it's an SOB to take apart. I left a review and Arrow did say they would immediately send one out to me. I said, no thank you. But for $30 this is a disappointment, and regret not just getting a Harbor Freight Model.
12 rivets used, all 12 stuck in the tool. Solution: Remove front fitting and push stuck rivet from front through the tool until it drops out the back of the tool. I used a Torx bit with a hole in the center and a hammer to push the stuck rivet through the back of the tool. Shitbox of a tool.
This Rivet gun was a bad design . It is not easy taking it apart. You have to remove the metal plate then remove the 2 - C clips. To get rid of stuck rivet
I initially bought a 200 HT kit, used it, after the second Rivet, it would no longer squeeze the rivet. Lowe's didn't have any more, so I went with this model. The very first Rivet I popped, the stem got stuck, I took it apart, and this video and explanation was very good, but getting it back is a little more tricky. I can't get the main cylinder to stay secure.
I just bought this same gun today to secure some eye pads to my kayak. By the third eye pad (6th rivet) one got stuck in the gun and has since broke off in the gun from me trying for 30 minutes to get out. Argg , so aggravating 😡👎🏻
Useless tool. Mine jammed several times, and the last time I got a screw driver jammed trying to remove the rivet shaft. Now I'm out a screw driver and a rivet gun. I'll never use this brand again.
I just took mine apart, I have the newer style. A steel three tanks got stuck. Takeoff the yellow adapter you’ll see a screw at the back that can be easily pushed out, but be careful your spring will shoot across the room and there are 2 1/2 cone metal pieces that come out. Once you get the rivet out make sure when you put them back the point of the con face is down then the spring and then you have to wiggle the pin Back into place. Mine is now 100%.
I F'd up my Spring halfway taking out the shaft ( the shaft took some of the spring with it on exit.?9....so just sent it back in & it could work, but the piece is still broken inside...sigh
Bought this crap 2 days ago, used it yesterday first rivet fine second stuck, hours of frustration, today finished project and retirning this arrow crap, good news though, nail gets stuck, just load a new rivet and the nail pops out the back smdamnhead 40 bucks
I wish you would've gone ahead and finished the disassemble. I had to fully disassemble mine, because regardless of what Arrow says, the very first Rivet I inserted, the stem got jammed up, and I had to disassemble it. I got it together, but I can't figure what keeps the main cylinder in place. Since you talked to them, it would've been nice for you to finish the disassemble and reassemble. Yes, I used Arrow Rivets, 3/16ths medium.

The design makes it difficult to take the rivet gun apart to remove the stuck rivet. Other manufactures get stuck rivets but design allows you take Rivet gun apart. Think Arrow needs to relook at this design.
Well, I stand corrected. I guess it is possible to get this tool to jam! But it's good to know that you were able to unjam it on your own. Thanks for creating this video! We're happy to see that you're satisfied with your tool and that you had a positive experience with our customer service team!
Thank you, hopefully others will see this video and not attempt to take the rivet gun apart. I was able to remove nose piece and push the rivet mandrel thru the jaws and end of the gun.
