It should work very well for ice fishing. It’s a little tricky to figure the depth of the fish but you can get an idea. I think I tried to explain that in one of the videos too. Thanks for watching 👍👍
Yes: here’s the last video I made on it. At the 1:38 minute mark I show how to change from meters to feet. Here’s a link to that video: ua-cam.com/video/-VGXhCd-vhk/v-deo.html I should have included it in the earlier videos 😉👍
I'm in the process of putting an updated video together. Unfortunately I'm heading out for a couple weeks vacation.... I can tell you that it does good on depth but realize it doesn't show where anything actually is. It sends out a cone shaped signal and just give a general reading. Should have the video summary up in about 3 weeks or so. It also works better in a lake or pond. Moving water is a little trickier if your moving. Drifting downstream it does fine. It would also work fine attached and held in the water by a stationary object. If you haven't subscribed to my channel, consider doing that, and you will get a notice when I post the review. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I'm not familiar with the wireless unit, but the wired from shore would be a waist of your money. It has a 25 foot cord, but I think you will find that it just drifts right back to shore.
"but I think you will find that it just drifts right back to shore" - very practical tip. thanks for that. i will look forward to your detailed video sir. kudos.
Hey there Dan I have recently gotten one of these for my kayak. How would you recommend using it? Would it be fine to run cable and sensor under bung. Also is the reason for 8-9 Inches under float just to make it more accurate? Thanks a lot found this video reasonably helpful😊
It can be attached to a solid object. It comes with a cleat that can be attached to a wooden rod and held stationary in the water. I do think you need the 8-9" depth for proper function. It works like sonar and water with silt or cloudy may affect. I'm guessing depth will be more accurate than the fish part. I hope to rest it out on a small lake soon. I've been tweaking my raft and motor with a strong current, so I haven't taken it out much.
I'm so glad you asked! I had made a 3rd video but just discovered that I did not add it to the related playlist of the 1st two..... Here is a link to the video showing how to change from meters to feet or back to meters as well. ua-cam.com/video/-VGXhCd-vhk/v-deo.html To be specific the section on that topic begins at the 1:37 mark should you want to fast forward. Thanks for watching and bring it to my attention. I've now added it to the fish finder play list.
I had gotten some free at a "Harbor Freight" sale. They do not last very long. Recommend using Duracell for longer life. Sometime I will track how long the last and add it to an updated review.
I made a 3rd video and explain it At about the 1 minute and 38 seconds into the video. Here’s a link to that one. ua-cam.com/video/-VGXhCd-vhk/v-deo.html I’d try to explain, but I’m on vacation in Florida 😎👍
Glen mckelvey , 1Turn unit on. 2 hold down the enter button until the ft/mt flashes. 3 tap the enter button to go from mt to ft. 4 it will stop flashing and lock on the one you were last on. Merry Christmas 🎁
@@BoilerDan1 -this works but on mine the MM/FT setting is lost when you turn it off then back on. I don't have the 'Lucky' branded one but it's the same fish finder.
My Lucky fish finder was perfectly fine within 4 years, but suddenly stopped to show the depth and fish in water. All electronic signs on the display work normally. Batteries replacement and system resetting did not change anything. No any obvious damage of the cable or the transducer. Does anyone have an idea what happens and how to fix it? I suggested, that the transducer is malfunctioning, but I did not find any option to pursue this part separately.
I'll check it out. I won't be able to yet today, but I will in the next day or two and respond. I did test it on a small lake and it does a good job with depth. It indicates fish too, but don't expect it to tell direction they are going.... But for the price, the depth is a nice feature. Give me a day or two for the step by step to change from meter to feet.
Hey, I'm back sooner than I thought. OK, you just turn the unit on (Bottom button), Then hold down the "Enter" button (right button) Then the ft/mt will flash and you can tap the enter button to go from one to the other. Hope this helped. Please subscribe to my channel :0)
Omg Thanks so much! I had to do the math while out On the water, and it Works so good, took it out to around 10m (30ft) and got my self a couple of yellow perch down at Lake Erie and I really like this finder

I'm planning on a follow-up video in the near future. Rain canceled a trip this week. I think it will be better suited for large pond or small lake use. I will post a video with it being used in that way. I do know it doesn't give specific location of fish or objects, it just indicates what is below the sensor at a 45 degree angle from it in all directions. I do think it will be useful in finding a depth, a good place for fish on a hot summer day! Hopefully in the next few weeks I can get a sample posted.

Out of all the reviews, this is the only one that shows how to install the strap. TY😎
You’re welcome. Just finished watching March Madness. BoilerDan’s Boilermakers made it to the final 4👍.
I try to provide important details 👍👍
Just got this for my birthday. Looking forward to going ice fishing with it.

The depth guide is divided by 10. So if depth is 20meters and fish are shown at 2nd bar, that means they are 4m from the Surface.
Excellent. Thank you. Will be using in a fishing video tomorrow. 😉🎣🎥
Happy to be of help! Catch a few for me 🤩! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment !

thanks. I will subscribe. Now which one do you recommend for shore fishing, wireless or wired?

Hmmm, not sure what would cause that? Maybe you can learn the metric system?😂.... Sorry, that’s probably not funny to you 👍
