Just went from zero knowledge to understanding some basic principles and it didn’t hurt a bit! Excellent high level intro!

This is awesome! Would like to have training to refresh my knowledge of CNC. It's been years since I have operated a CNC machine.

Man, you should make a video on how to make UA-cam videos. Short, straight forward and concentrated.

Learning here! I was a server/lead for 6 years then restaurant manager for 4 years and switched careers to cnc machining with citizen L20's and L12's. 2 years in and I'm still struggling with understanding programing. Thx

Are you ChrisFIX? Cause you sound almost exactly like him! The way you teach is also similar, very enthusiastic and nice about everything. Great video, keep up the good work!

    Very interesting !
I'm from the time that CNC was very familiar to HPGL.
Main difference seems to be that the commands are not meaningful anymore, and many more machine functions are added.

Do machine manufacturers provide a programming interface that offers english language commands that are then translated to the machine code?

Why would they do that? Do they actually think humans program these?

Is there any way I can learn all about being a CNC programmer and take a test before beginning my school? I don't want to leave room for error and would love to be ahead of the game before classes start. Thank you.

Back plot EVERYTHING before running ANYTHING. A few seconds will save you hundreds of hours in lost time and thousands of dollars in repairs or rework.

G20, G21 = inches. mm. It look like every machine interprets G code in a different way.

Sorry but you are incorrect G99 is inch per rev for lathes, G70 is a finishing cycle. You need to realize the different G codes for milling or lathes. some are the same and some are not. Your presentation is nice though.

    • @Boogie_the_cat

He said it's MOSTLY standardized, which means "your mileage may vary by machine"
I think 80% of viewers are working with milling and not lathes, so it makes sense to use that terminology \ definitions.
Chill. Go drink a juice box or something, think about your actions and how lording it over all us Peons doesn't make us want to join your hobby if you wanna gatekeep so hard go join a cricket club.
