The vegetation, terrain, and scenery all look very interesting but I was really disheartened when you got to the summit to find a parking lot with a bunch of cars and tourists. I feel like that really ruins the hiking experience but I'll do the climb anyway, it looks like a lot of fun.
Rickugg, I am also a competitive shooter (multigun), and it depends on the park, or sometimes the area I will be in, in regards to carrying a side arm. (.45 ACP). Sometimes the rules state that you CANNOT carry a firearm. But if it is a super rural area, I can care less about rules written by pencil-pushers. My life takes precedent. Another thing to consider is bear spray, which I always carry on my side. In a quick, spur of the moment attack, bear spray may be better than a firearm for accuracy
Julian, it was a tough hike. Go with a full backpack and challenge yourself. It is not an easy hike without a pack. So imagine what its like WITH a pack. (Which is why I did it...for the challenge). Upon completion you will have the satisfaction of saying "I did it"! Want a tougher hike? Check out Mississippi Lake, Henry Coe NP. (I'll post the video when I get off my lazy duff. Just finished TWO Spartan runs this past weekend). ;)
Thank you for sharing this.i wish i could have watch this before i went yesterday.awesome Job!!🥰😍🤩
There are much more scenic and interesting paths to the summit. Check out the “six summit loop” sometime!

No dogs allowed on the trails. I think that's awesome!
