Drawing is a skill that most people wish they could do but they immediately put themselves in the category of "Oh, I could never do that." I want to take this time and welcome you to my channel: Draw Sessions.
I've been drawing all my life and have had the privilege of working both for AAA game studios and also movies. I have taught foundation drawing at the University of Cincinnati and it's time now to give back. I understand the frustrations of learning art in general but specifically, drawing. My channel is dedicated in helping absolute beginners, intermediate artists, and industry veterans - all wanting to improve their drawing skills. listening to you was exactly what i needed... whenever i click on your videos i have this sudden urge to just get my sketchbook out on the desk and start drawing along with you. I feel so grateful to have found your channel, just wanted to let you know that.
No matter how hard I try, I still cant seem to just start. I went from an avid artist to nothing and the years passed by. No idea how to knock the rust off despite therapy, exercise, books, pills ect. its been the hardest hurdle in my life.
Giving up is also an option. Don't stress too much.
Start simple. One circle a day, then go up from that. Start with a line, you can think of the rest later on.

I agree giving up - even if just temporarily - is also an option, and to be honest, sometimes it can be the better option. I think you may just be burned out right now, which doesn't mean anything is wrong with you; it's happened to tons of people pursuing all sorts of hobbies and careers. Some people do come back to hobbies they let go for that reason, later on.
"A drawing a day, keep the blank page away."
Even when it's ugly, small and dirty, at least it is a little something.
Don't give up, make it funny and keep on smiling !

Hey man! been a follower to you since 2023 and I stop drawing time to time due to lack of motivation, being afraid, laziness, and stubbornness of my brain (adhd). So yeah, firstly I wanna say is that congratulation for hitting 100k sub! I will keep watching your content time to time. I already joined discover last month. Some easy reference for just practice are figure poses and fashion magazines. I also always have my phone at the ready when taking photos for anything that catch my eye during the day. Usually patterns on objects, plants and clouds.

You're very welcome. I don't smudge my work because the oils from your skin instantly screw up the graphite. In my opinion, smudging is what you do when you haven't learned proper shading techniques. Smudging offers absolutely no texture.

what kind of things i should study for creature design? i have been thinking about this for long time but don't know where to start
Definitely animals. Make image boards of many different species. Look at the well-known types such as quadruped, bi-pedal, insect, marine etc.

Can you put trigger warnings on your videos when you draw horrific creatures thats seriously not ok. Do you realize how fast my heart was beating when you drew that I think probably 90 beats per minute at least
My channel is a trigger warning because most of the stuff I draw is scary😉
