I also have this experience! Bob is the Bob Ross of creature making. Bob - will you make a Bob Ross style video please?
Gods this helps so mutch. My wife and I are Game Art and Film Studentens that had a brakedown after graduation and struggle to get back in. But to just draw along see what comes out and what we missed while stressed out while studying feels so good. Really missed that and noticed just how mutch pressure limited us.
I'm glad it's helping. Just try and free your mind. Have fun instead of treating it like a chore.
Once again. Here are the things you said that I desperately needed to hear:
1. Scribble. See what happens. See if you can find some neat shapes in here.
2. Quit wallowing in self-doubt. Cause its just going to make you suck longer.
3. You gotta start looking at your artwork objectively.
4. Quit internalizing negativity so much that your anxiety takes over and you don't want to draw.
That's what's keeping me from being better. Lol.
So uh.... thanks for saying all that. ✍😅
Hello, I’m a young aspiring artist and I’ll be going to college soon to study art, id say I’m pretty half-decent at drawing but watching just a few of your videos has already given me so many ideas and has actually changed how I draw/sketch. I usually use mechanical pencils because me personally I find they work really well for fine-lining and it looks better than blunt pencils, but now I’m gonna try using ink pens/biros. I also wanna properly learn how to draw people, I’m completely a self-taught artist as well, so let’s see how that turns out lol
I'm pretty new to drawing and your style and relaxed video format is exactly what i was looking for! Especially your video on finding your own art style was incredibly helpful, seeing your loose way of drawing really helped to ease up, instead of trying to make every line perfect, which resulted in lifeless looking drawings.
I love your videos and vibe so much bro! I have a huge personal project Ive been drawing and world building for, for quite some time. And watching your videos and drawing along, I did have a big leap in my work!I had actually learned to "scribble" watching another artist, building greyscale forms loosely and then adding line work to the "happy accidents" - "sculpting" loose forms and understanding its a vital process to my growth as an illustrator has done wonders for me. [and growth as an absolute concept nut - honestly its my favourite thing to do!] Even when im not drawing the same things I often put your videos on to listen to someone talk and watch what you are doing because I miss drawing with friends and talking about art and sharing concepts! So thanks my man! absolute legend. I would love to break into the industry. id love to hear from you! maybe you can point me toward beginning putting a portfolio together... i do need to work on fundamentals thats a given! A mentorship to hone my skills would be fantastic ... Im at a point, i believe, where if i refine my work I could break in to working as an artist. :] Thanks again and sorry for the rant!
I would join bro but im a broke atm! :[
I absolutely love that style of video. Listening to you and work alongside on my own craft or art project, learning something on the way. Thank you for letting us "sit in the art class" with you ❤
The sketch of this sci-fi character is really great! Every line is full of power and dynamism, as if it can lead me through that mysterious future world🤨😐😋🥲😙😚😚😮💨
Hey man, love your vids and art! Keep it up man, your content really inspires me!
First time drawing along and it went by so fast! Your talking helped a lot to get over the frequent subtle doubts that would usually stop me in my tracks
7:08 advice i needed to hear
Patience of a ferret got me dead lol, good video !
You move the pencil on the paper and you create a work, and that's amazing to me👍
The advice behind this artwork gives me a strange feeling. These characters are truly amazing for 2D pixel games
thanks for another amazing video bobby! if your lessons were 10 hours long, i would watch them all haha
The advice at the end is great; taking a step away and coming back with a fresh perspective works for more than just art. Can’t recommend it enough.
I recently got over my super negative mindset towards my art and started studying and forcing myself to draw. I’m rapidly improving and find it very enjoyable now.
But I’m really just leaving this comment to chew you out for not zooming in on your characters at the end. I wanted to eyeball them 👁️ 🔎 🖼️
Total beginner here and this video and others like this on your channel helped me take a few steps forward in figuring out how to start. I was using aseprite for a few months drawing pixel by pixel with a mouse and recently bought a drawing tablet and found out that sketching with pixels as a total beginner wasn't working for me. So I bought krita and decided to do what you are in these vids and regardless of my ability or talent for art I find that this kind of sketching is just way funner and takes off some of the stress learning to draw. Kinda gives me vibes of artists like Yoshitaka amano and Stephen Gamell whom I'm a big fan of. The wispy, ethereal, ambiguity I think makes the drawings look really cool and scarier than a much cleaner drawing. and the sort of uncleanliness just takes the weight off my shoulders and I'm having fun just messily sketching whatever fantasy monster my wandering mind comes up with without having to worry about it looking great. Def subbing. Thanks a bunch.
*Thank u so much 4 this amazing video !!*
i appreciate this video, earlier i was in a slump having a block in figuring out my character's design creatively
and so i ate and went watchingg random videos, stumbled upon this and im not really watching your video anymore oops lmao
because i ended up grabbing my nb and sketching stuff traditionally and it was more loose and freeing than sketching and figuring out my design on a tablet that i ended up with cool explorations
so i appreciate you for that and this. THANKS
Dude, I love your art style. Amazing. Keep it up!
Amazing video❤
Glad you liked it!!
started to draw like 2 weeks ago, not gonna lie I like your style!
Thanks for these videos, I'm kinda stuck with my art right now and doing this process is helping me a lot
I really enjoy listening to all your drawing tips doing thumb nails. 😊
i really like you're videos, i always watch as i start design some characters for my story book and it really helps me man, tanks a lot
First step in life and art :
"It's ok to fail but it's not ok to fail at accepting failure "
Thank you. This is helpful
Glad it was helpful!
I really enjoy that I'm sketching with you it's really fun to do that!
Thanking you very much for sharing the tips and tricks. All cool all the way!
You are my new Bob Ross❤ love ur content
I love listening to you =)
Honestly, I really have dificulty letting my creative flow. Everytime I'm creating a character just for fun, I don't do it 'just for fun', I take it very seriously and try to make it perfect and it ends up tiring me out and letting me without energy to actually have fun. It's a very stressful situation.
from my little experience. You know you have something good when you're excitedly building and expanding on a character as you draw it out.
maybe that is just me though.
Nice work and well done ❤️💐💐❤️ 18:22
always happy when a vid comes out
idk what i am doing, i am good at portrait drawing, and i use grid method to get the propotions right and i am exploring different types of art styles and maybe get into it and i find character designing interesting, and i have a interest in maybe making anime artworks
Ngl, the second one, as you were drawing it, looked like a walking horror christmas tree to me. xD
it is so nice to draw and look the video at the same time
A body guard to a dragon sounds like a very interesting concept.
Like they travel together and then a villain tells the bodyguard "you think your dragon scares me?" and then the dragon says "it's not me you should be afraid of!" 😃
btw I don't know what to call those sisters but I hope they're not gonna use the power of maaaaaannnnnnyyy 🤣🤣🤣
Subscription achieved! Inspiring consumption your channel! A channel so you evolve from it, no waste of my time, have a good life "Draw Sessions" !!
Wow, thank you!
Thank you for creating such instructive and beautiful content. You are, aside from the technique extremely skilled and this is a privilege to watch on you creating these drawings… when did you start? Thanks again. I draw like a pork on a grill but still enjoy your videos.
Thanks Steph! I started when I was four years old...in 1984 that is😉
winkin and blinkin for number 13
#5 looked like the old plague doctors with the big beak
Omg I think i found my new art dad. Duff has been replaced 😂
One mistake I made in the past... on my bad sketches, I'd scribble over them and write, "CRAP."
(I wanted my sketchbook to only show good things.)
Saving the bad sketches gives you a record of what didn't work, and that info might be important in the future.
Could you do a lesson on figure drawing as I really struggle getting it right I hope I’m not the only one 😂
“Give yourself permission to scribble” is something i think about every time i sketch now haha
Hello iam fan of your art can you please make a death brutal metal drawing i want to learn how to draw like your styls sir thankyou
12 makes me think of Ascended Sleepers from Morrowind.
Just stared drawing creatures ( I used to draw rooms and furniture) don't know that I'm drawing creatures and stuff like that I always end up the same thing people dogs and jellyfish creatures .
why is that how come I keep drawing the same creatures ?
I made a lil guy
I like this lil guy
I'll make many versions of him
what pencil do you use in the video?
@@IsaacDelgado-r7b 4B

Make robot drawing video please and thank you
does he say that at the start of every video? i swear i never knew hes named bobby
I don't say it much 😆
I wouldn't call it a fail. If you're trying to design an elf ranger and some of your sketches look more like a barbarian or a warrior...
YOU have sketches for a Barbarian and a Warrior!
If you need those for allies or enemies, they are already done.
