- This is our second rendition of peeling a log too big for the mill. Our Woodland Mills HM130MAX is on a Dan Reed trailer with 16.5' length capacity. We produced a 22' long timber for our Sawmill Shed. It is a touch bigger than 12"x12".
There are 8 primary cuts made. Four cuts are made on the long end of the log. Wei slid the log down with the tractor - level the log to the blade and make the last four cuts to finish the timber.
Runleader Digital Tachometer is an inexpensive way to monitor engine speed. This helps keep an eye on blade blade life. Dan Reed swears by RPM and cut performance - so we wanted to make sure out throttle was set correctly.
Another cool this is if you perform custom cutting - this gives you another hour meter to track job hours. It is worth the $13.49 with free delivery on Prime.

Just took delivery of my HM-126XL, waiting on assembly. It's nice to see just what limits can be pushed to what is actually achievable with the "spec'd" capacities. Hadn't thought of this approach even though using a similar method with router flattening 11" slabs on a 6' table.
I see the next one is ready so binge watching your videos, not anyone can just do what you fellows have done

After cutting what you can turn log around. Remove bunk if needed.
lot's of hard work. you are lucky to have a good crew . i n the long run it much safer to not over load that long of a log that big. take care, be safe and well.

Hi just wanted to tell you that you need a lube tank and hose to lubricate the blade because the sap dulls the blade.
Make sure to test on Austin's right leg. I probably have enough spare parts to fix him up if need be.

Spruce Gum not Spruce Tar. The old Timers used to roll it into balls and chew it like gum.
Do u resaw those live edge boards
Yes. They are used as the rafters.
Just setting up my mill from range road wouldent advise any one to buy a range road. Cheaply made
@@wilmamcdermott3065 I really like Sawing with Sandy. I liked how he teaches and I felt comfortable with Woodland Mills. For the money, I felt it was the most bang for the buck.
