    I was so happy seeing this when I got home after a bad day, always cheers me up. I've even started to learn how to carve my own baits even though I live by the ocean and have no bass ponds but I keep making lipless crankbaits since they're the easiet for me to begin with.

      Have you tried fishing your baits in the surf or off a jetty?

    • @jakeq3530
      @jakeq3530 2 роки тому

      Do you have surf perch where you live? I know they'll hit smaller crankbaits

      Try making a small spinner bait and paint it mostly white. Have you tried the lure tape from Amazon yet?

    • @rockybiscuit1003
      @rockybiscuit1003 2 роки тому +2

      @@jakeq3530 I'm in South Africa so the kind of thing swimming here are normally dusky cod, garrick and very rarely bluefish

    • @rockybiscuit1003
      @rockybiscuit1003 2 роки тому +2

      @@JesseG085 i haven't thought of the idea of a spinner yet, I'll give it a try. The white makes sense since my most successful lure was a full white top water walking style lure that I used in an estuary for garrick

    I really appreciate all the details, while we’ve established that a bass will totally eat a block of wood and that all these details are kinda unnecessary to have a successful bait, I really enjoy the carving more than anything! Keep up the good work! Bait looks amazing (and I’m only a few minutes in!)

    Growing up on the Delaware, shad were always my favorite fish. They'd run in spring at the same time a certain bush would bloom (hence shad bush), and they were this amazing entrance of the ocean into my inland childhood. You could see the Vs of them heading upstream. Just beautiful.
    Of course at the end of the season when they were all dead and rotting in the backwaters and sloughs, which was super gross and stinky. But you take the bad with the good.

    I'm so thankful for your videos. It's so nice to get away from politics and drama that's put on a high pedestal on UA-cam and see something amazing like this. Your craftsmanship and dedication to making beautiful baits and catching fish with them is so satisfying and motivating it honestly makes my life feel better. Thank you for making these great videos, and for being a cool headed guy.
