I'm only a couple of minutes in to the video, but my eyes are desperately trying to zoom out! :D
Finished now, thanks for the great video and for keeping me company too :) Love tape players and looks like you got a great bunch there to work with. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks very much for watching. I'm working my way through these at the moment - so keep a look out for some of them on the channel soon!

Just bump into this channel, i used to have a Sany 3 button model the same as ,in the day a trip down memory lane
Had a good go last year at fixing a Panasonic rqs 45 it took a few attempts at soldering it back together after finding a belt on line and fitting it but got there and, it's my go to when mowing the lawn if its not raining 👍

Thanks for watching. Glad you percevered with the Panasonic - those skinny auto-reverse models can be tricky. Glad you're still keeping it running!

Alba and Bush were the cheap crap that poor kids like me got, and they didn't last. Sony and Aiwa were on a totally different level. You always get what you pay for, and it's better to spend more once on a quality brand than buy cheap crap multiple times. You pay more in the long run.

Yeah, I always stayed well away from Alba and Bush where I could. But weirdly they survive even to this day. Probably not because of quality - more to do with then being too sinple for anything to go wrong, and millions of cheap ones being made - some of them had to survive, I guess! To be fair though, at least they were a way for most people to get their hands on a personal stereo at a time when many couldn't afford a 'proper' Walkman.

@@retro_restos I found it the opposite, they never lasted long. The doors would break off, the buttons would break, and the headphones were always the first thing to fail. That's probably down to it being in a school bag that is thrown around a lot too.
