I met Dan at the June Jam in Delaware. I was just a kid and a huge fan. He gave me a pick and talked music with me backstage for over an hour. That meeting made such a huge impact on me. I'll never for that day and Dan and his music will always be in my memories. What a sweet soul.
One of the best guitar players I’ve ever seen, and I have seen Stevie, Duane, Clapton, Beck, Page, Hendrix, R. Ford, Carlton, Santana, Meyer, and so many more. When I saw Dan playing with Gregg in Lake Tahoe many years ago, I had tickets for the first of two shows. I was so blown away, I I went right out and was able to get tickets for the second show. It was even better. Gregg, as always was fantastic, Dan however was something special.
Wonderful testimony!! I have known Danny since the early 60s and he was always a very giving person that showed hie love for his friends and Family!! I Loved him then and now!!
Your not kidding man..i have a personal connection to the Brothers and Danny..Im hurting to see him like this..But god picked him up as he has all the bothers and will carry them the rest of the way..God bless you my friend !
Dan the man...Dan played my wedding 34 yrs ago this month..we just celebrated .I'm counting them all being thank full. For great memories of the joy of love. my prayers for family and friends.
This has done a lot of people a lot of good. Dan was a great guitarist and had a lot of fans, to share his testimony the way he did, right before he departed this Earth, is awesome.
Spoke to Dan briefly behind the stage after gig with Greg Allman Band on the beach in …MIami??…Ft. Lauderdale???…in '82 or '83 with Dr. John opening. He couldn't have been nicer or more patient with the little punk fan peppering him with questions. Yep, he was a MONSTER player, but it was his approachability, friendliness and humanity that keeps his light shining in me.
It was my eternal privilege to be your friend on your trips to Atlanta... your gifts to this world go well beyond your music legacy.... see you again one day Brother.
Dan was a national treasure! So thankful he knew the Lord!
Dan Toler was one of the nicest people I ever met.May the Good Lord take care of him.
