Hi! I'm n Humboldt County on NYE walking on our property looking at mushrooms 4 fun. I wanted 2 c a video on what's around here and picked yours. I really enjoyed it! Not only cause its New Years Eve, but I'm from Sonoma! Loved the coincidences and your video!
I've been doing all of my mushroom hunting in the East Bay. You've shown me that I really need to expand my horizons and maybe head a bit further North!
@@turinreza Well... you know... legality is hard to recon with when there are porcini involved. I just try to make sure that I pick up enough litter and garbage from my hiking trails to explain my weird basket-backpack. I also make it a point to spread mushroom spores as far and wide as possible to amend for the possible harm I may be doing by picking the fruiting bodies. It isn't my intention to take more than I should and the legality of mushroom hunting in California is pretty silly. If someone wants to stop me then they'll need to find me and they'll need to run faster than me if they want to take my mushrooms. I'm a good person, damnit.
So cool, can’t wait to go mushroom hunting this year. Last year I made good finds but not any big hauls. This year I will be much more prepared and will upload my own 🫡
What an awesome haul - thank you for sharing your adventure with us. Those mushrooms look delicious - the bear sausage I'm really interested in trying. Lived in the PNW all my life and I've never tried bear. Awesome video as always.
it have greenish color on the cap though, probably not very obvious on the video. It actually have some line on the edge of the cap (which should be characteristic for coccora) but coccora and death cap can hybrid in some case! so I only collect those have absolute all coccora features and nothing susceptible.
I just discovered your channel and I'm so glad I did!

hey thanks for watching! :P the sausage is delicious but to be honest bear meat does not make a big difference than beef lol
Lol, your excitement is making want to go hunting!
We found probably 50 pockets of boletes today on a small hike. Had no idea they were good to eat which is why I'm here lol.
Reminds me of my annual bolete hunt in Santa Cruz around early November.
dont have any bolete spots in Santa cruz though, probably give it a try next season!
Nice! Saw lots wild mushrooms while hiking but didn’t know which ones are eatables.
U definitely want to do some study before foraging them!
I know the exact area you are hunting. There are many mushrooms there and all season. Boletus aereus are delicious.
Awesome haul!!
please make more videos
Hi do you ever hunt near mount shasta?
do you have any field guide recommendations for the area?
Nice!
I keep the pores and dehydrate them. ☺️
Do you think there is a way I can send my photos for Identification? Where do you think I should start?
I have lots of that coral growing near my house (Mendocino county) right now. Im noi a very expierienced mushroom hunter. Are there any look-alikes?
看来以后跟你学采牛肝菌也不错,一年可以采两次,一次在俄州,一次在加州。
哈哈 牛肝菌很好认的
5:22 dont think it is a deathcap more like a young cap coccora, but it's better to be safe.
