Good video, allthough I feel like Sidious would have felt that Vader had turned against him considering how insanely powerful he was with the dark side and the force in general.
Yes, there's simply no way Vader would sneak off, and train with the light side for a full year without ever alerting Sidious...

The thing is sidious knows eventually vader would betray him as the way of the sith but he thought he had turned anakin to the dark forever So he can't sense it same as the jedi couldn't feel the lord of the sith right in front of them
Definitely agreed and also the fact that he was "commanding the deaths of millions" would not put him in Yoda and Obi-Wan's good graces

Vader's armor was intentionally vulnerable to force lightning and Palps never used it here. I think he would've 100% just zapped Vader out of the fight immediately. He actually hated using lightsabers and only used them when toying with his opponents and mastered all 7 forms just to mock the jedi. He's not going down that easily.
Vader was still the Chosen One. In many cases, Palpatine believed Vader's major damage was in his mind, not so much in his body. He surmised that if Vader was able to confront his conflicted feelings, the power of the Chosen One would reawaken in him.
The first time in the OT it's obviously anakin talking is the hologram in ESB. He fears Palpatine will kill his son so he tries to make luke seem likes he's not a threat. When that fails he resorts to 'I can turn him'
This is the perfect what if for star wars this guy need to be hired by lucas film now
What if Anakin and Obi-Wan joined Ahsoka during the Siege of Mandalore?
What if Anakin returned to the light in A New Hope?
What if Ahsoka and Anakin had children?
What if Anakin fell in love with Obi-Wan?

I like how Vader still has the suit and injuries. So many Vader redemption fics have him discard it and back to old Anakin.
But I think for Vader not to be imprisoned, he’d have to either make a deal with the Alliance in exchange for his help, or he’d be placed into the custody of the New Jedi Order.
one critical point: either Obi wan or Yoda should have told Luke/Vader that Leia is his sister

vader would get a new suit bcs the old one caused him pain to remind him of his loss on mustafar what would keep him to the dark side also the suit was old and clunky also to fuel his rage so yeah he woul get a new wayy better suit
Everyone forgets that it wasn't just Vader's suit that was keeping him alive. Vader was using the power of The Dark side to sustain his life force because the suit couldn't do it on its own. Even if Sidious had not short-circuited Vader's suit. Anakin wouldn't have survived long without the Dark side to sustain him. That's the main reason Anakin dies in ROTJ. Luke could have easily gotten Anakin to an Alliance Med Ship and gotten him on life support while a newer, better suit was made and Anakin knew this, yet he still tells Luke that nothing would stop that from happening now. In fact, it was the Dark side that made Vader able to survive long enough for Sidious to find him and get him to medical assistance. Without the Dark-side, Vader dies on the shore of that lave lake on Mustafar, just as Anakin died on the Death Star 2.0.
What I admire the most about your videos is that youre calm, literate and eloquent. Mosy of the people that makes these types of videos sound like they've main lined ritalin with a mouth full of peanut butter and are barely literate in the bargain.

Palpatine was a genius. There's no way he would have been fooled like he was in this scenario. Also the rebels wouldn't have had nearly enough manpower to mount an attack on Coruscant at that stage, and it wouldn't make sense that they'd be willing to give it a shot either, because the plan would hinge on trusting that Vader was a good guy now. Granted, the Imperial fleet would still be spread across the galaxy in a vain effort to engage them, but they had both a hefty fleet, and the orbit defense system always protecting their capital. If a covert rebel attack force managed to sneak in, and Vader could probably help with the codes needed, they'd still be outnumbered 100 to 1 with easily accessible reinforcements all around. If Vader and Luke were quick enough in their assassination, they might have had a shot, but again, Palpatine was a tactical genius, with back up plans upon back up plans always ready to go. He was also always aware the his apprentice hated him, and as always with the rule of 2, would eventually try to overthrow him. If Vader turned to the light at around the same time in this scenario, I could see him maybe faking his death, hiding somewhere off grid temporarily, somewhere like Yoda did, another force nexus of light or dark, and giving information to Luke to pass onto the Rebels about what he knows of Imperial bases, and Palpatine's secret strongholds, to help drive the empire back, until, Palpatine is either somewhere more accessible, or the Alliance has an actual shot at an incursion on the capital, and Luke, Vader, and probably Leia too, can take a shot at the Emperor. I did very much like this video. Anything that gets the mind going on "what if" scenarios in the Star Wars universe is ok in my book, and this is just my thoughts on this idea

I love those Fan fiction, and can you do a what if Maul trained Anakin? It is like a continuation of Star Wars theory because he never did it again, and I would love to know what happened. And Vader is 20% weaker than Palpatine because Vader has 80% of the emperor's full potential.

"Vader looked for any way to get involved" dude, he's faster than Sidious. Read Lords of the Sith for example.
"Vader was not as strong as Palpatine. Not even close". You'd be right in Legends, canonically this is utter bollocks. Vader has feats and statements both, to back up that he's at least a match for Sidious. As a duelist he's even superior to Sidious on a technical level.
Palpatine was more powerful, master of 7 forms of dueling and even bested Yoda. Yes Vader is a powerful duellist and far superior to what Anakin ever was but there’s a reason that Vader never overthrew Palpatine. Because he couldn’t. And he tried on multiple occasions and lost. Even in the comics we have seen them duel with lightsabers and Vader has lost. It is also stated in the Revenge of the Sith novel that Palpatine was one of the quickest duellists in the galaxy and his moves looked like a blur.

1. They dueled when Vader was weak. New to his suit.
2. Vader knew all 7 forms of lightsaber combat as well (in Legends certainly) and had them hybridised beyond recognition in his suit.
3. In RotS Nick Gillard estimates both Anakin and Sidious are tier 9 duelists, and Vader only got better after getting into the suit in both continuities.
Edit. I already told you, Vader was shown canonically to be faster than Sidious. ^^^ Lords of the Sith is a really good read bro, recommend it

Every form has pros and cons, best form was probably form 6 ( mix of 5 previous forms ) but since it did not hold any disadvantage against any other lightsaber form, it also did not hold any advantage making it like a balanced form
Vader later developed his own form which was mix of form 1,2,3,5 and 7 which was probably deadliest form ever possibly, and yes he was also master of all 7 forms
Difference between vader and sidious is that vader was far more skilled and expirienced than sidious and both of them were equal in speed
Sidious said that vader's power was unparallel, vader was only one that could overthrow him that is why sidious made his suit to have some drawbacks like on/off switch button that sidious could click whith use of a force but vader was powerful enough that he could just switch it back on, that is why suit was weak against electricity so sidious could just fry vader like a chicken if he needs to
If vader was weaker than sidious then he would not have to worry about vader overthrowing him, but he certainly did
George lucas stated that vader was 80% of sidious after mustafar but you know that OT happened 2 decades after mustafar? In those 2 decades he became far more powerful than sidious could ever imagine
At the end it came down to manipulation, you see vader was not stronger than sidious simply because he could force push someone furthure back or destroy sidious in lightsaber duel, he was weaker than sidious because he could not fight him back, to be exact he did not want to fight him back, and that is because sidious manipulated vader
Even if vader killed sidious he had nothing to live for after that because sidious was everything he had left until luke showed up, it is likely that vader would give up on his life because he would lose meaning to live
Vader was maybe stronger physically but mentally...he was bottom of the bottom

One thing no one ever covers in these what ifs - If Vader turns to the lightside and goes with Luk ANYWHERE... How tf does he eat? How does he use the bathroom? He needs to soak in the bacta tanks too. As funny as it is, Vader does require literal special needs - his suit doesn't have infinite food source or energy and even using the catheter and poop pouches means eventually he needs to replace them! So...if Vader was out with Luke on Dagobah - how tf did he survive through day to day needs?

There is a point of failure in this theory less than a minute. Two adults, one with four cybernetic limbs will not fit in a one person fighter aircraft, whether that aircraft can jump and use hyperspace corridors the Xwing are a single pilot fighter

1) How do the rebels get a large enough force on Coruscant to attack the imperial palace? Even sneaking in over a year, they WOULD have been caught by inquisitors or ISB.
2) Vader killing Palpating replaces once tyrant with another, at best, and a vaccum of power at worst. I think Luke would have wanted him captured. Even if execution is the smart move.
3) No way Palpatine wouldn't have sensed the betrayal way sooner, or that some of the bounty hunters might not have tracked vader back to Dagobah.

Ummm, when this theory starts, Han Solo is is in Carbonite, so at one point was Han saved....? Luke and Lando were essential in getting him back from Jaba. Guess it doesn't really matter i suppose
