I love this song too so much. Floor (Flower in Dutch-flora) her angelic and demonic voice. You will here more of that in the awesome song “Yours is an empty hope” Wembley. The guitar reminds me about 80’s Van Halen (also Dutch btw) and Maiden. There is structure in their songs, also in this one. It has a lot of signature and key changes like Symphonies have. When they go back in a certain signature (rhythm) they change it just a bit with a slightly higher key change. As classical musician and as metalhead I love this. The show opener was actually The Dark Chest of Wonders. It is one of the great openers. I suggest looking for the longer version with the short DVD intro about the tour as a lead in to the start of the show/opener. Another great opener is from the Wembley 2015 concert for the first album written for Floor. It is called Shudder before the Beautiful. Nightwish music often does not use standard pop music structures. Although I am no expert, I understand it is heavily influenced by classical and movie score music, which has many more complex and progressive storytelling structures. The composer and lyricist Tuomas is a big fan of that kind of music, and works with London arrangers, orchestras, and choirs who help make some of the most iconic movie music.
