Just wanted to say thank you for uploading this video. I needed to to the brakes and rotors on my 03 dually and knew the hub had to come off to replace the rotors, just wasnt too sure what that entailed but watching this gave me the confidence to do the job
Thank you so much for putting this on UA-cam. Man I couldn't have changed my dads brakes without your video. Your experience and advice was spot on. Thanks again and merry Christmas!!
Greece or no Greece packing. I watched one video say no the gear oil handles the job, and the other the guy used high heat bearing Greece. Which do you say is good?
Anyone have a fair price I should charge for labor after replacing E-Brake shoes, inner and outer wheel seals, new rear rotors, stud swap and brake pads?
I just did this job and bought that same socket that doesnt work. The correct socket is the evertough 67037 socket for dana 70 axles. I happened to rent one from my local O'Reilly's auto parts
Thanks for the video, helped me out. Similar process getting my drums replaced,, guess I have to beat my lugs out too. Thanks! Slap woreout,, we use plum workout here in Missouri too. lol I'm Slap Woreout messing with this old truck!!!
Rotate the assembly when tightening nut so you seat the bearing, then back the nut off just enough to insert key. I've seen other threads that recommends 55 ft-lbs of torque to seat bearings before backing off nut. Wheel bearings need just a little end play to avoid overheating. Too much end play and the load zone of the rollers and race is too small and you reduce bearing life.
@@kentuckyyankee You really couldn't be further from the truth man. Service manual even says to tighten, release and only make finger tight. If this method works for you and you don't burn out bearings then good for you. GM didn't use special bearings, they all require their proper tightness.
I couldn't imagine why people disliked this video. It was raw information on how to do the job in 12 minutes..

Good Job Yankee. What year is that truck? Mine is an 04 and I think this is probably the same setup.

Did u put any oil back in before the cap or it doesn't really need it
Kentucky Yankee were it looked like it leaked oil when u took them bolts out, but maybe it was just old gear oil what I saw thanks for your reply
