It's true, we've been using the same sad old design for decades. The G7th really looks sharp. Yes, that was a pun. 😂

Love my G7th - I had a few Kyser's but they are garbage. I leave my capo in my back pocket on a gig.

You didn't demonstrate the G7th very well when you moved it up - the A string is buzzing like crazy!

    • @BeastMadeReviews

That's a quirk of the design. I think in that sense I did demonstrate it well.

@@BeastMadeReviews so the A string always buzzes in your experience? Im confused, if not, then state that it was a quirk in the example not design, i was on board until then aswell

@@RuSerious117 I mention part of this in the video. You have to set the tension yourself with the G7. So if you don't put enough, it will buzz.

Kyser capos are no good. They advertise a "lifetime warranty". But the spring broke in mine and they won't honor the warranty.

Hi Chris - that’s true, it’s made in China, but our HQ and inventor is based here in England :)

I just ordered an amazon basics capo like 3 days ago. Lol, although, I might get one of these in the future. Would use it for a strat type electric and a dreadnought acoustic

Which one is best for a 12 string? Wide neck?

They would all work fine. My personal favorite is the Thalia.

Thanks for putting this video together, I know it’s a lot of work and time and you did a great job. I know it’s been over 3 years and I’m wondering if you still feel the same about these capos. I’m playing with a guy who is VERY particular about sound and claims to hear slight tuning variations when I use my Thalia … I don’t hear it but he is the worship leader so I yield to him. He would prefer that I have a capo where I can adjust the tension. I’m willing to spend $100 but really don’t want to go to $240 or more for an Elliot. How do you feel about the capos now?

    • @BeastMadeReviews
      @BeastMadeReviews  7 місяців тому +1

I still prefer the Thalia. If you have the correct radius pad on it, and you place the capo on the fret, there shouldn't be any tuning problem. Often, the tuning problems occur because of the intonation of the guitar. If you put a capo on a fret, the tuning will be a lot better if you tune the guitar afterward, with the capo on. Playing live, that's not always possible though. But if you put it on the fret, it doesn't pull the strings as much.
The G7 is also very good, but for playing live, it's less convenient. Personally, I would never play an Elliot live unless you are keeping it at that position for the whole set. It's too much of a hassle. And really if you are playing live, I think it's unrealistic to expect perfection from tuning.

@@BeastMadeReviews thank you for your thorough reply, I appreciate it. I suspected that you found the Thalia to be the best overall. I’ve played with a few capos but the Thalia seems to be the most consistent of the ones I’ve tried. The Elliot is highly praised but the cost and inconvenience of having to screw it down every time put me off. I have a Taylor 724 so I use the Thalia with 15” radius insert. My challenge with the Thalia is that I’m right handed and my left thumb has arthritis. This makes it difficult for me to squeeze the capo and put it on. Fortunately I usually have enough strength to play chords. I often have to reach over with my right hand to help put the capo on. Was hoping that a different capo could resolve this issue but I really like the Thalia.

I noticed you show how easy it to slide. I also noticed you didn’t show what a pain it is to get on the neck to begin with. I will never buy another Thalia.

I'm not sure what you are talking about. I don't find it difficult to put on the neck at all.

it is ok for a slash j45 Epiphone acoustic guitar? it has a chunky soft v neck.
