So, the main question the PrincessAU tries to answer is “Who rules over the Mushroom Kingdom after Princess Peach disappears?”
It takes place sometime between IGBP and finishing the new Castle. (Which is why SMG4 still lives in the RV)
The Plot is currently as follows:
After Peaches’ Castle disappears into the pit, the Mushroom Kingdom is left without a ruler and the Royal Toads (mainly Toadsworth) desperately try to run the kingdom on their own. But without a castle or any experience in people management, they quickly realize that they can’t do it on their own.
This is where Mr Puzzles steps in. They make Toadsworth & co. a new castle and convinces them, that SMG4 would be the perfect replacement for Peach.
So Toadsworth and the others persuade SMG4 to rule over the Mushroom Kingdom.
SMG4 doesn’t want to do it at first but agrees to be a temporary Ruler until they can manage to somehow save Peach. (He mainly agrees because well.. he doesn’t want to deal with an angry mob, he still doesn’t have a place to live and he feels incredibly guilty for what he did to Peach.)
While ruling over the Kingdom, Mr Puzzle slowly manipulates SMG4 into losing his sense of self, making him feel more and more like an actual Princess and making him less focused on saving Peach.
Mr Puzzles goal is to create an eternal “Royal Drama TV Show” with the SMG4 cast, making them all part of the Royals and selling a lot of “Princess SMG4 Merch”
The main cast is all focused on rescuing Peach, except for Meggy, Tari and Boopkins who help SMG4 with the duties of a Princess. These three also get heavily influenced by Mr. Puzzles.
Two versions of Peach appear in this AU: The monster version in the Pit and the pink “Sprit version”. The goal of the Main Cast is to bring Monster-Peach out of the pit and attempt to heal her with Meme Energy.
Spirit-Peach only appears to SMG4. (Is she a ghost? Imaginary? Pure Meme-Energy? Something in between? Who knows. I do.) She is there to give advice and bully SMG4 (lol)
