    slowing down and taking longer is such a good tip. I find myself learning a lot more when I try doing illustrations that take me a week or two to finish. Learning to draw faster is great for experienced artists and professionals who have mastered the basics and are just polishing their skills

    • @guiltyshoes

      I wonder waht exactly can take whole two weeks of time to finish a single illustration

      @Kol-Kas Місяць тому +7

      @@guiltyshoesHI✨ idk about them but for me it takes 8 days minimum to finish a drawing sometimes stretching into three weeks and I honestly couldnt tell you why😭 i know that when i render it's very non anime style so i have to split everything into different parts and render everything separately to get complete renders and sometimes certain things depending on the angles, perspectives etc cause certain things to take days (like a recent piece i did the skin took 4 days alone) then when I merge everything I have to rerender so it flows together nicely then i have to render AGAIN for some lighting additions and value checks then a last render for touch ups
      Im not using render lightly i have to do the drawing multiple times and its worse if i end up straying off my original idea in any way cause then everything has to change as well
      Idk if your question was serious or not but yeah😅

    • @guiltyshoes
      @guiltyshoes Місяць тому +4

      @@Kol-Kas it was, cause i am genuinely curious. I saw asian artists doing complete painting in a couple of hours and thats what i am trying to do as well. All my efforts are to make my drawings take as little time as possible (cause i am too lazy to put much effort in a single art)

    • @Kol-Kas
      @Kol-Kas Місяць тому +2

      @@guiltyshoes I understand that sooo much! Im trying to speed up my process too but I definitely think timing is an acquired skill that takes hella practice... but I think shortcuts are your best friend as well as shapes-I don't know what your style is but if you use lineart or sketches id say vary the line thickness, multiply lineart, good values and if you do painting(?) shapes are your best friend

    • @LeMisterRai
      @LeMisterRai Місяць тому +1

      @@guiltyshoes Not two weeks total time of course. Mostly 2 weeks real time, so considering work and rest days. Still, this would usually take me near 20 hours

      It was a little bit too much editing for me in the beginning of the video. I also don't know whether other people had the same experience as me, but it was really disorientating watching your vtuber model. That's because your model that's doing the speaking part animation, was way too high for me to notice. For this, i do think that lowering the whole model down a bit would be beneficial, so the main focus would be cat talking. Though that would also leave a problem if you'd want to show the whole model to the audience.

    I’ve been drawing every day for ~8 months now, on average I draw for 3 hours. I just recently finished a piece for my sister and the realization is starting to hit me that yes, to get to where I wanna be, I’m probably gonna need to keep at this for years. After 8 months I’m only now starting to internalize the proportions and angles of the face, to the point that I could construct a head at any angle. To get this practiced for the body. For rendering certain body parts, hell to just make good lineart. It’ll be a long time. But this is what I wanna do.
    Good luck in your journeys everyone!❤

    This is all really good advice! I'd like to offer something I learned when I was new to art. If you want to get out of your own way and actually do the things you want to do, *stop talking about it*. If you don't actually get into doing it, talking about what you want to do feels better than actually doing it. The only cure is to keep your head down and do it.

    This video made me realise that even if I've only been 3 years drawing and I'm still not successful in social media, I’m bound to become successful since I keep improving little by little and I have unique ideas to contrast myself to the rest. In fact, from minute 0 since I started learning anime artstyle, I had already decided my "blue ocean": eye zoom animations (as stinger transitions for Vtubers for example) and eye reflection artwork, both featuring anime girls only. This is a rare niche in the whole Internet and despite some people told me that I cannot just focus on only anime girls' eyes alone, it's what I wish to specialise in, but nonetheless I'll keep developing more and more skills to support this and, who knows, be able to participate in an anime production someday. PD: your Vtuber is absolutely unique and charming!

    I agree with you opinion that an artists artstyle is just something that develops over time. It's not something that you can just "make" it sort of just happens and develops on your own based on what you yourself personally like to visually see. and of course this can be affected from studies, and even learning of what other artists do. I have seen several artists whos art styles have similarities to them, so it could easily be said that they influenced each other in some way.

    The perk of starting art younger is your art will look better at a younger age where most adults are extremely self-conscious especially if their art looks more like a beginner level where kids tend to not be super self conscious till their teen years, I personally started drawing when I was 16 I'm 22 now and finally feel like I'm actually growing faster now but it took a long time to get here and I'm thankful I stuck through the years of anxiety, depression and just overall dissatisfaction with my art my mindset recently has changed to just have fun with it and since doing that I've improved faster. Adutls I also think are actually better at learning things faster because you can understand concepts that are more complex a lot sooner, never too late to start to learn as until your dead you still have time. Issue is most adults will give up when things get hard or don't look the way they want and this is why a lot of people will bounce between a lot of skills and never really get good at any you need to stick out the ugly stuff even if it's multiple years because you can never be truly good at something if you never put the time in to truly understand and learn it

    Two years ago I started writing (It was really bad) with zero experience or background, but wanted to make something. Its funny because i spent a year doing 3d art and i thought it was for me and i did everything to avoid learning how to draw. but after a year of 3d i quit and i picked up real art after playing around with ai art. now i been drawing consistently for half a year with the 50/50 rule 4-8h a day with rest days. and focusing on study + doodling. I'm zooming in terms of progress compared to a lot of people. wish i started sooner.

    Could you do a video on social media at some point?
    I feel like my art is at least on par with other mid sized creators, but I can’t break past ~10 likes on any of my posts!

    1:00 I could go to art school, but I just feel like it would burn me out. So I just learn by myself since art is just my little hobby.

    What I love about Oridays is his authenticity. I was thinking "top 1% isn't as amazing as it sounds" and then he mentions top 0.00001% and I value authenticity of that manner. Top 1% is still definitely difficult of course. Nobody needs to be Da Vinci.

    Im following this path:
    Choose a specific part to learn like hands
    Try and watch materials until i can do it in a decent way
    Going to the next specific part

    To anyone who needs it:
    Don't be so stressed that you didn't start as early as some artists...doodles from a child is not the same thing as mindful practice as an adult.
