- My Testimony | Being an Open-Minded Christian Ain’t It. I wanted to share some of my more recent walks with God. It hasn't been a straight road and for some reason these past few months God has been talking so much or I've been listening much more. I realize I'm talking candidly so if I say anything that is offensive that is not my intention. There's a lot I didn't include in this video and can include in a future video so if you have any questions you'd like me to address let me know in the comment sections.

Thank you for the overwhelming positive feedback and calling me out on my mistakes. You're absolutely correct! I made a few errors in this video which is why it's good to read and know God's word directly. People are flawed including myself! The point of this video was to share my journey with the hopes it encourages you to start an intimate relationship with God and reading his word. All glory to God cause he be outchea on these UA-cam streets snatching up all his lost sheep!
People need to show more grace. No one came out the womb as a Bible theologian. And even those who can claim that title don’t understand everything perfectly. Your testimony showed fruit a child of God who Heavenly Father has been communicating with and that’s what Matters. We continue to grow in grace and the knowledge of God.
Thank you for the vulnerability in using your platform to share your beautiful testimony. Words don’t have to be perfect. When your desire is to share Him, God has a way of translating what you say into exactly what someone needs to hear. ❤

Wow! Maya you don’t know how much I needed this video. I had stopped reading the word for 3 weeks now. I was going through doubt and shame and needed to take a “break”. I asked God to help me get back to him and this definitely spoke to me. Thank you for putting this out. It helped me get back and I picked up the Bible again today. You’re a beautiful light!

I came to know Christ in jail in 2013 by reading a book, "Overcoming spiritual blindness" by James P. Gills MD. The veil was taken off my eyes. Heaven came through for me in my finances too, getting $25,000 monthly. I can support God's work and give back to my community. God is absolutely more than enough!
Hello how do you make such monthly ? I'm a born Christian and sometimes I feel so down of myself because of low finance but I still believe in God...
Isaiah 45:3 speaks of a transfer of riches from the heathen to the righteous... I will give you the treasures of darkness and the riches hidden in secret... I received this for my household in Jesus' name. Amen!.

Maya...I was SOOO happy to watch this video!! I too went down a New Age road and strayed from the true God and Jesus and down the path the enemy created for me. Jesus changed my life! I'm now battling stage 4 breast cancer and there is NO amount of positive thinking or stones or yoga and meditation that could bring me joy. But GOD has shown up every single time. He has been my comfort, my peace, my sanctuary. Only He brings me hope and the peace that surpasses all understanding. People question how God can allow some to get cancer or other diseases or have tragedies in their life if He is love. But I'm so thankful that He has shown me this path. God is close to the broken hearted and I have never felt Him nearer. He has opened my eyes to the truth that this life is important, yes. But there is SO much MORE than this wisp of a life. The point of this life isn't to focus on being your best self. It's to point to Jesus so that others can be saved and have eternal life with HIM.Thank you for being open and honest and shameless in your testimony! It is so amazing to see God moving in your life. Your obedience to His Holy Spirit is beautiful. Praying for peace, love and strength as you continue down the mind blowing road of growing in your faith and love for Jesus! May God shine His face upon you!!
Thank you Kamie! You are truly a light and a blessing. And you're absolutely correct! This wisp of a life! I even had to cross the mental threshold of being a mom and knowing that that title can be removed from me at anytime. To not place my faith and love in this world but the one that is to come. God is so powerful. God is working in you healing you and bringing about another testimony in your life. He is the creator of all things and healing is another miracle he will do in your life and others. You are in my prayers 🙏
@@shamelessmaya I had to do the same with motherhood. It is a gift that we can't cling too tightly to. That was probably the hardest part for me. Entrusting my babies to God. But oh what peace it brought me when I did! Now I'm able to be a mom without so much fear of loss or screwing up. God is so good! Thank you for your prayers! I believe in His plan and purpose for my life 💜 You are in mine as well 🙏

@@shamelessmaya Please pray for me I was born again@16 1991 and I was fine then went back into a Destruction path due to DEPRESSION I need to get back. I have damage my body and life not even Battling.....I was whole and not a drunk and WAS attending Youth Congress and all. I shouldn't have done this horror. I need Help. My parents are both saved .I spoke Against myself and open doors to this Satanic lie world and now want back but sins have harm my body.....I need help. U want HEAVEN and out of this. It is bad.

The scripture below is what God said to the Israelites centuries ago after their idolatry and rebellion which led to the consequences of them being ransacked by their enemies and taken captive into foreign lands. It would seem that they had destroyed their lives. But God was merciful. Those who repented of their sins and turned back to God were restored. This same God offers you redemption through receiving the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ as payment for your own sins so that you can be restored to God and live in eternal freedom with God.
I pray for your healing and freedom for depression, alcoholism and all pain that may have led you to that place. And I pray in the name of the Lord Jesus that for the rest of your life on earth, you begin to live the abundant life in Christ that God has prepared for you. Come back and tell us your testimony in the coming days.

I watched the whole video. I’m so happy you filmed this Maya. Jesus really is the only way. The perfect example of what we should and could be but the grace we need because we are imperfect. Jesus is GRACE! 😭🙏🏾

Girl I’m getting emotional over here. I’ve followed you for so long and I’m so happy to see that you’re a Christ follower. I remember years ago when you were on the journey and talking publicly about your questions and your new journey. I’ve been a Christian for most of my life, and your story has inspired me. God has blessed you with so much talent and I’m happy that you’re putting it to use with Him in mind. Excited for what’s to come for you
I also wanted to add, in 24:11 when you said “will you Satan take my son as payment” God did not send Jesus to die for us so that he could pay back Satan, it was God giving his son to save us from God’s wrath 🤯. God is essentially saving us from himself. God is perfect and holy and fair and just. Sin HAS to be paid for in order to be in right standing with God. So he sent his son in human form, so that we could have HIS righteousness. Satan is an ant that will be smushed in the end. God is the one who will judge sin in the last days. That’s why the story is even more beautiful. God is saving us for himself, from himself.
At 29:30 when you stressed the importance of having a direct relationship with God’s Word, I was like 🙌🏼
People can and will fail you. Leaders are made from the same dirt as us, they have the same if not worse temptations.

You hit the nail on the head about “cheating your way to the supernatural “with ‘books and tricks’ 😂😅 and the sad truth is I’ve been doing it this whole time , just lost and always caught in a constant state of ongoing depression for years ,in and out . The problem was have always been an open minded Christian and never really read the Bible. I have had financial and relationship issues for over a decade now trying to lean on my own understanding. I am also the 32yo Christian that hasn’t read the Bible. I love Jesus but I really don’t know him! It doesn’t really make sense smh. I have always been an open minded and being creative takes that to a whole other level 😅😂 It’s time to get to know him. Ima pray for you while I pray for me! 💜
We got this! Put God first by reading his word morning and night! The word will transform your life!!! I promise you. You don't have to rush the process just be honest and take your time.
Amen!! Many Christians are deceived by the world or don’t stand firm in Christ because they (I used to be one of them) don’t read their Bible! Even when Jesus rebuked the devil it was with God’s Words aka Bible. If you don’t have anyone that can help you navigate the Bible on UA-cam there are platforms that are helpful on how to best read it! Pastor Vlad has a great plateform where he talks and answer many questions we may have.
«Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.»

It's so great to be hearing of what other ppl go through and if there's something i learned so far with having a lot of questions and thoughts that seem to contradict God's truth... it's always that we either haven't got enough knowledge about it or what we think is God's truth isn't actually what the bible says but what throughout the years has been mixed with culture/ tradition and assumed to be the truth. At the end of the day the truth has been given to us and the Holy Spirit is in us to teach us all things... we just gotta be patient and honest with God about everything because He knows all our thoughts anyways. Jesus is the Truth. It's only tradition that keeps us from asking questions when in fact as the Creator of all that was, is and will be only He knows everything. Always ask otherwise you'd be doubting God based on something He already has an answer to. Oh n be ready for an answer!
Butterfly - We can never cheat our way to Jesus by way of psychedelic drugs, crystals, books or any other demonic means. Those are lies and they will only take us AWAY from Jesus because they are satanic. There IS no way to “cheat” our way to the Cross and to Jesus.
The only way to The Cross and to Jesus is through The Word of God. All other ways are false and they direct us away from Jesus. There is no cheating, there are no shortcuts to get there. There is just one way and that way is to confess our sins, repent of our sins/ to turn away from them and to ask Jesus into our hearts to reign as our Lord and Savior. This is the way to salvation. The only way.

Maya, thanks for sharing❤❤You recited the creed. The creed doesn’t say “I believe in the pope”. No such thing. But I get what you were trying to say. All glory to God. As I’ve gotten older, God is the way. I have found so much peace. I think it’s super important for people to have a personal journey with Christ. I grew up Catholic and still practicing but I had to take my faith into my own hands because I wanted to understand more.

Thanks for sharing! Zeitgeist was a film that made up a lot of false information and pulled many people away from God. I was pulled deep into the New Age via similar films/ books etc, and went down a very slippery slope into darkness. Thank Jesus the Holy Spirit snatched me back! 😂 So glad you touched on this important topic.

Maya I was so blessed by your testimony. I’ve followed you for years and similarly I grew up in the church reciting the Apostles Creed. I left around 22 and went “Spiritual”. Last year God started talking to me. He wouldn’t let me sleep. I thought about my life and how I had a clear plan when I was following only Christianity. I asked myself “What has spirituality done for me?” Since October, I’ve cut out friends and began to build my relationship with God. You wouldn’t believe how my life has transformed. I was in a play, I’ve gain a family of sisters, I’ve had offers for side gigs, I got a new job. It’s like God was waiting on me. I took the long route to really understand Him but I’m listening now.

totally respect your path and experiences! one thing I’ve realized as a licensed therapist is that sometimes within religions there are thought patterns and beliefs that often lead to a decline in mental health/we teach more flexibility in perspective to improve mental health. I still maintain my spiritual beliefs and relationships with God, but it doesn’t always align with structured religion and beliefs (that were often a significant tool in colonization)
Thank you for saying this. I felt a bit split on this topic. I’m a therapist too. Have stepped away from the organized religion because of the deep wounds of being essentially used up in my teens and 20s and then spit out when I was broken and grieving my mother. They abandoned me, gas lite me when I made my concerns known and then I was essentially invisible. The whole business of the church is disgusting. Pressure to tithe when you can barely pay your bills. Being asked to serve just because I’m a single woman and apparently don’t have a life. Being accused of being a jezebel for being a black single woman just saying hello to people. I was constantly attacked, people spreading roomers. When all I did was sing, a lot. Singing was the only way I felt safe at church. But once the music stopped. Anxiety flooded me. Who else is gonna say something or give me a disapproving look. This kept happening at so many churches. So I gave up. I’m no longer accepted since I came out. I’m afraid to go to even affirming churches.
I’m happy for her but it also makes me wonder, how did she escape the mess?

@@amandajones4681 I ended up leaving the last church I was a part of because of similar reasons. I ended up just having church with myself at home and spending time in nature and whatnot. I do sometimes miss that fellowship, but not more than the peace I have now. I believe taking a step back and being able to enjoy God alone and without needing others to make our (God and mine) time together special is what’s been helping me. And of course like what Maya has been saying, reading the Bible for myself and on my own.

Don’t indulge.” This feels nostalgic realizing how long I have been a fan and following, but it also makes my heart smile because your life is an example of a genuine walk with a God who never fails His babies. This could not have come at a better time for me. I've been struggling with my relationship with God for years and am currently going through a hard time and decided to just let God take the lead from now on.

I have been raised in Christianity & in my mid 20s was married to my “best friend” for 12 years we believed in God for everything & we attended a church as often but never really took the time to study the Bible the right way. My “best friend” who was very judgmental of me & my family cheated on me & I went down a dark place of depression & decided on a divorce. Now I have been rediscovering myself for the past 4 yrs looking for love in all the wrong places & questioning God. Your video came at a great time when I finally started to think of my peace I felt with God before I got married & in the beginning of our marriage when we trusted in God. Keep on spreading the word. I'm currently restarting my journey with God and it's been tough but I know this is something that I want to do and learning to make sure I do things correctly this time. I remember when I bought a crystal, and I was quickly personally convicted lol. It was like God was saying "Girl what are you doing? I am all that you need." It pushed me to studying God's word. New age practices can be tempting; seeking spirituality and grasping for some type of control. But learning the word and walking with God provides more peace than can ever be explained.

Hang in there sis, call upon the Lord and never cease praying even when it seems like all odds are stacked against you. Be patient in prayer, plead the blood of Jesus over your life, worship and declare His promises out loud daily ' I shall live and not die and glorify the works of the Lord'. I was exactly where you are now in 2019 but God came through for me in His own timing. He restored my heath, mended my broken heart and granted me a job that I love so much. God is soooo faithful. He will never forsake you.
The battle has been won! I'm currently reading Matthew and the miracles that have been done then and till this day happen in the name of Jesus! Prayer and the word 🙏 You got this!

@@shamelessmaya Yasss. I went through my new age phase too because it was being saturated at that time. God quickly revealed to me that this was not the way. I had to renounce it in the name of Jesus. The day I literally renounced it along with things in my family bloodline, I went under spiritual attack. However this is normal. I continued studying the word. Fasting and praying and the Lord saved me. Since then, The Lord has blessed me exponentially. I'm still in my walk with Christ. Im not perfect but I'm not living in sin and I'm continuing to walk with God. Also pay attention to spiritual covenants and contracts being made while you're dreaming. That's a whole story. But keep seeking the Lord, you will have all the answers you need. Hallelujah!

I went down the same types of rabbit holes spiritually until God supernaturally showed me that Jesus & the Bible really are the only way. I’ve been following your journey for what seems like forever lol & I’m glad that today I get to see you using your platform to plant seeds for others ♥️
My experience with a psychedelic trip literally made me literally run to God. I had hallucinations (which I don’t really believe were hallucinations) that made me see what I called the spiritual world. I saw demons for first time while talking to ppl I thought were “good.” It just made me feel like I was pretending to not see what was in front of me. Yet I didn’t feel shame but love from God when I reached out. Thanks Maya for the video, I’ve followed you for almost a decade and it feels like this was a confirmation of what I’ve been feeling lately
Yes I can only speak from my own experience and I have had a trip once and it was pleasant...THANK GOD! But God said no more, there's another way so I'm listening! Everyone has their own path to follow!
I can relate to you totally. I was catholic too. I quit. Then I was being deceive by Joel Osteen and by the new age movement.
I quit all that too, but couldn't understand why " the secret" was bad, so I was not practicing but was listing to people about it trying to see why it was so ungodly. Even though, when I used to read those book I always substituted the universe by God, because I knew it was not the universe giving you anything but God! Fast forward. no man evangelized me, The Lord sent my guardian angel to ministry me about Jesus. I was 40 at that time , now I am 51. Before that I really didn't have a clue of who Jesus really was and His power. Praise The Lord Almighty! He always make a way where it seems no way! Hallelujah!! ❤🔥

Maya!! I'm so happy to see this video! A brief story, not to bore you. I was on my way out of Hollywood as an actress and truly seeking God during the time you were taking off on UA-cam. I remembered you professing your love for Christ at first, then something began to shift. I understood your shift wholeheartedly because again, I was going through what I felt you were getting ready to go through. I grew up in church, started questioning God later, READ THE SECRET, read ALL the metaphysical stuff, and even though it SEEMED nice, something wasn't right. Long story short, I found my way back to Jesus and when I saw you making the shift, I prayed for you because I know how it is, especially when you're in the entertainment industry. and you meet so many people who believe all these different things and you get exposed to them. It's so easy to question, doubt, etc. God bless you and I'm so so glad to see this video🥰

You totally called me out, I am 27 and just this afternoon I wondered why God has never spoke to me? despite all my prayers,efforts and dedication? it's like a waste of time. I was raised Catholic and at 23 I wanted a supernatural experience, so, I have been going back and forth on christainity and chunks of information concerning spiritual awakening, law of attraction,chakras, communicating with source or divine and so on, this has been so frustrating cause I keep hitting rock bottom, I look back at my life I have nothing and I just desperately want to fix me, i have even believed in tarot cards readings to,and have ordered for some readings for my self😭😭😭😭
just this afternoon I felt like dying,I had to tell God for the 100th time to take my Soul.
For 2years now I have given my life to Jesus so many times,struggle but still falling,reading the word but nothing is happening.
I believe God sent me this testimony right now, I just found 1% of courage to try one last time.

For anyone trying to read the bible I highly recommend "The Bible in a Year" by Fr Mike Schmitz. This has been the best walk with His I've ever taken since being born and raised as a Christian.
One thing though, the Catholic church never said and will never say "I Believe in the Pope" that is heresy and Maya should not spread misinformation.
What they say is 'I believe in the Holy Spirit, in the holy Catholic church, the communion Of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting."

Yes, there is a lot of focus on the bible like you said. The readings during mass are literally straight from the Bible and many other things as well.
