I haven’t seen many people talk about this, but at the end of the trailer when you see Shadow fighting the Bio-Lizard, you see him fire a Chaos Spear at it. So not only does Shadow have his Teleporting Homing Attack, he has more Chaos Control moves in his arsenal. This makes me very happy because they are finally designing Shadow in a way that helps him stray away from just being a carbon copy of Sonic or being too similar to Sonic gameplay wise.
The first level looks like Final Chase from SA2 3:25 The Steam listing confirms this "When Shadow’s old nemesis, Black Doom, reemerges and threatens to take over the world, Shadow must journey into his own past, confront painful memories, face familiar foes, and unlock new powers to save the world and prove why he’s known as the Ultimate Life Form!" I think Black Doom is gonna make Shadow go through a bunch of levels from his past similar to Time Eater from the original game.

Maybe with the Time Eater’s influence, the Black Arm’s defeat was erased from the timeline and now Black Doom is using this opportunity to exact revenge on Shadow and force him to relive his past and travel through past locations such as the Ark and Westopolis. Either way, I’m looking forward to seeing where they take Shadow in this new campaign.
It’s crazy to think about because that means that black doom is fully aware that he died in the first place and he and the black arms are revived because Eggman had reset everyone’s history due to the Time Eater. Instead of everything just playing out like it did before. Black Doom is going to attempt everything he can to keep history from repeating itself and making sure he and the black arms survive
I hope this game will show Shadow’s return to who he was to be before the Meta era. Shadow having to relive his past and face loosing Maria again…I hope we get to see Maria and Shadow moment and rekindle their friendship. It would be nice to see them together even for a moment. I’d love to see how this game play out. Edit: I think Black Doom will try to once again try to get him to join him and abandon his promise to Maria and help him on his conquest, in which Shadow would show him that he is who he is.
well if there gonna revisit shadows backstory they gotta have that scene and whats nice is by extention we get to see humans in a new sonic game again and maybe even get a high poly model of maria and gerald robotnik potentially

i just hope they add something new from shadow's backstory but well written enough for it to not ruin shadow's story. If it's just the same ol maria getting shot and shadow going through his past levels then it will probably get pretty boring unless the gameplay is really good
The parts of the trailer that showed Shadow kicking the missile and punching the biolizard gave me serious Sonic Frontiers vibes... I am _really_ hoping they have boss fights in a similar style to the Titan fights for the Shadow portion of the game, because THAT would be _insane!_
The problem is this is a Sonic Generations remaster, not a game thats taking cues from frontiers So they have to revert back to the Boost era formula for Shadow so that it doesnt feel too different in gameplay from the rest of it As much as that would be fucking fantastic of a set up for Shadow - because its tied to Generations gameplay, I cant really be too hopeful that Shadow deals with the bosses similarly to the titans
@@Cruddy129 I doubt they'll actually do full-on Frontiers style bosses, I meant more in terms of vibes. I could see them having traditional boost gameplay during the levels, but have some unique segments for bosses (like the QTE attacks etc).
Between the moves like Chaos Spear, the Frontiers spawning, the clearly Frontiers esque QTE cutscenes, etc. I'm assuming Shadow is going to play very similar to Frontiers style with multiple combat moves (and possibly a skill tree) with the bosses being like Titan Fights.
I think our main villain of this story will be black doom (most likely brought back due to the nature of traveling space) and the enemies appearing from the red circle are likely just illusions, created by the hypnosis (similar to house, shadow relived some missions aboard the ark with Maria because of black doom trying to hypnotizing him.)
If you look carefully in the trailer, when Shadow flies through the kaleidoscope-like thing, the buildings in the background are actually buildings from the Soleanna hub world in 06, so it's likely Mephiles will return ;)
I am glad I was wrong. The Shadow portion of the collection is going to a perfect tie in with the movie. The main thing I'm really concerned on is if they'll nail the level design of his stages and how exactly will his story take place during Generations. The contrast will be so funny between Gens non-existent simple story and Shadow going through PTSD of his past.
in the OG generations intro shadow wasn't present in the surprise party for sonic with the rest of the cast, so in terms of timeline maybe this takes place at the same time eggman and the time eater appears and send everyone trought time but a bit earlier than that, maybe eggman goes after shadow first and somehow black doom is involved, and it connects with the main story once shadow reunites with sonic during his boss fight

I'm surprised you didn't mention it, but at 8:01, you can see a yellow projectile fire at the Biolizard as Shadow's hand glows and a unique animation plays. It seems like he's able to throw a Chaos Spear in gameplay.
Anyone else really hates Shadow's running animation since the boost era? Also really hates that his boosts animation is just him flying? SA2 had a great running animation, they couldn't just speed up his skating speed like in SA2 when he's at top speed. But anyways, can't wait for this!
People keep missing it, but notice how the homing attack doesn't have a "delay" after hitting an enemy. Which breaks the sense of speed. Despite using the Frontiers engine, they have tweaked it. I'm pretty sure the control is a mix between Generations/Frontiers. Which is basically Dream Team's controls. For the arena boss battles, he needs to control well to move back, forward, turn, or use his powers aimed accurately. I know for a fact that the controls are closer to Frontiers' Open Zone than the CyberSpace. Calling it now. Afterall, this will be the groundwork for Sonic moving forward.
I think it's obvious based on the trailer that we saw footage focused mainly on reimagining STH and SA2 as glorified Generations stages with Biolizard confirmed as a boss and Dooms Eye suggesting the confirmation of Black Doom or Devil Doom. I personally think we can expect another Sonic Heroes and 06 stage/stages. Since Shadow has only really had a major role in 5 mainline games, they could either stick with that which would include Forces in the game if possible, or break the convention and just stretch it out to 2 stages per each of the 4 initial games with 1 original stage if they want 9 to mirror the base game. But it seems like they may just be keeping it focused on STH and SA2, but that's assuming it's short like Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth By Sleep, as a sort of prelude to a future title as it was. I for one think it shouldn't be any shorter than at least 5 stages as a sort of expansion, but knowing episode Shadow, who's to say since that was short.

Honestly can definitely understand your frustration at first with the leaks. I love gens but other games deserve the remaster or modern port treatment like heroes or unleashed. For me I was very low with my expectations since the other remasters that have come out especially since this is my favorite game of all time. But when I saw this trailer and the game looked the same and great as ever, but then the shadow stuff came out and it felt like I got constantly blasted by huge gushes if wind and hype IT LOOKS SO FIRE and the story seems really interesting, but I am cautious about the gameplay, physics, and level design. I love the love horizon but it has many flaws including the level design which I do love, overall cautiously hype for this mainly the shadow stuff. Great discussion video btw.
When generations came out, there was discourse on the internet about how cool it would be if the Sonic Adventure style 3d games were represented within generations as its own distinct playstyle. Some people even said they could add Shadow into the game as the representative of that era. My first thought when i saw this was "Oh, they're doing that thing people talked about when generations first came out."

Hope we get a Flame Core themed level as well with a Mephiles encounter, if we're about to relive Shadow's past that feels like a must-have. 06 director has confirmed Shadow remembers 06 and it is a fixed part of the timeline in some way (as seen with the existence of Crisis City in OG Gens) so yeah, I'm hoping we get to see Sonic's best villain make a comeback as well.
I could see (If the do a new op cutscene) Like everything is the same until Shadow up and gets his time to shine. Modern Sonic smirks as Black Doom and the Eggmen fly by whith Sonic, C Sonic and Shadow running after them, the look at each other like the the Og Op and then the title of the game. @@someguyand...whatever23 Why TF would they remake 06 when P06 is already coming together basically just as good as anyone could possibly remake the game. The job has already been done, and SEGA themselves admit the fans can outdo them at times, Why would they spend a bunch of money/time to remake one of their most contraversial and poorly recieved games ever when someone else already did it right for free. And the Shadow (Game) content being featured here is moreso alike to how Crisis City is in OG generations, how Silver has reappeared, and how some characters have been improved/redeemed in the comics and such. They're taking the elelemts that could have potential from their old failed projects and trying to do them right wih a second chance and new home. Similar to how Crash Team Racing Remake included characters and stages from all across the series and gave failed characters a chance to shine.
I would've preferred if they gave Unleashed this treatment instead of Gens, i.e, Sonic x Shadow Unleashed. The Shadow content looks cool, but I feel Generations really doesn't need a remaster. It still looks good, plays great and is on Steam. Unleashed is still stuck on 6 gen consoles and emulators or the Unleashed mod for Generations, which doesn't have all the content from Unleashed (for better or worse if you really hate the werehog that badly, lmao). You could even give Shadow a werehog form, for the extra fan service.

Sonic Unleashed remaster/remake would be impossible because SEGA would have to choose between the PS3/360 version or the Wii/PS2 version and the fans are divided on which is better than the other. For example, Luke from Kwingsletsplays prefers the Wii/PS2 to the PS3/360 because it's more streamlined. However, Zupersonic, a former let's player, prefers the 360/PS3 to the Wii/PS2. No matter which one ends up remastered or remade, one or the other groups don't win.
I hope that after the events of sonic x shadow generations that shadow learns to let go of his past, THIS ACTUALLY MAKES SENSE in later games after generations shadow doesn't hesitate to work with sonic at all e.g: forces he even smiles maybe showing that he got over his past and is willing to show more emotion

The Shadow stuff could be cool I guess but I gotta be honest, From the trailer I can't tell the difference between the remaster and the original lol, That game's visuals still hold up very well and it definitely didn't need a remaster. I think instead what we needed is a Sonic Generations 2, same concept but different levels, imagine Sonic Mania levels recreated in 3d for example!
I wonder since I assume the sonic's gameplay footage in this trailer was very much just the og generations gameplay, because it looks the exact same and the fact that shadow's boost aura effect is very different from the OG generations one, is this trailer just using the OG generations footage because they don't have the remake stuff done yet, or is it gonna be done in a way that the shadow's side is a different executable, or are they actually going to remake generations so 1. Sonic's and Shadow's content can be in 1 game, and 2. because they can replace havok engine to something else. If they in fact are remaking it, I am kinda worried that they will dullify the experience by making it more like forces/frontiers' cyberstage levels (I love cyberstage levels but the way it feels isn't what I'd necessarily want for Sonic, other than maybe the way the air boost works).
I am curious how similarly to the original Generations it’ll be. Because in the regular game, we get all these previous bosses and characters and places, but none of them really factor into the story, they’re all just set dressing for the Time Eater. I have to wonder if Black Doom/Doom’s Eye is gonna be the same, where it appears for a specific level/boss fight and doesn’t contribute to the story. The hallway it was first shown in DOES remind me of the “rival” battles in the original, against characters like Silver and Metal Sonic, but who knows, for now it’s just cool to see him in HD, and I hope we get to see his main form soon too
If the Black Arms aren't in Westopolis, maybe instead of Westopolis that's actually Radical Highway, i mean they do look kinda similar if you think about it
If it just turns out to be "Shadow In Sonic generations" or "every game that has happened since generations is just slapped with shadow on it with a fresh coat of paint." it's gonna be disappointing and predictable, Sega is clearly trying REALLY HARD to make us forget Shadow ever used guns in the first place. xD They just need to roll with it, of course not make it a focus point but it's just something he /can utilize/ if the need is there, but im not gonna claim making a story based around the idea that shadow can use guns but not make it a pointless add-on but something that flows for story reason is easy or anything, like how else can he show power without outright using his chaos powers in front of humans? guns. hate to say it but shadow just has /that/ vibe that allows him to be one of the few sonic characters that can hold a 'human' weapon and not look completely laughable.
there was this archie comics ideia to bring black doom and mephiles together to fight shadow, purple isn`t a color usually associated with the Black Arms but Mephiles, I don´t know maybe I'm wishing to much, there is also the theory that the time eater was a fragment o mephiles and Ian Flynn (Archie-IDW comic Sonic writer) liked the idea.

I hope they add more stages for Sonic. Shadow however...what stages will they add? Shadow doesn't have many stages that are just for himself, unless they add every, or a few, stages from his own game, Shadow the Hedgehog, he can't have Unleashed, he cant have SA1, Sonic Heroes shared stages and so did Sonic 06. So my guess is there will be a few stages from SA2 and Shadow. Either way I'm super excited to play as Shadow IN A MODERN SONIC GAME!

You know, I wouldn't be surprised if Shadow's story is connected to what happened in Frontiers in some way, since there were a few hints (particularly how one of the stage themes and at least one of the layouts seem to come from memories of places Sonic hasn't been) that Shadow might have interacted with the Ancients' cyberspace at some point. I think the first question I'll probably be asking is "is this the real Black Doom?" Either way, I never thought I'd actually get excited for a remake of Generations, so, well-played to Sega and Sonic Team on that front. I'm glad I didn't see the leak and just got to be surprised.
Shadow’s gameplay, from what we’ve seen in the trailer, definitely is using Hedgehog engine 2.0/Forces/Frontiers It makes me think that they aren’t going to be using the engine from Generations at all, especially if that footage was from just the original game with Sonic and Classic

I think they did this to reset lore ( again ). To populate more shadow games (as we get skins for superstars for shadow too). Also putting this game in hedgehog engine allows precident unleashed and heroes to get ported
Stuff I noticed in the trailer was that the bio lizard seem to have these like electric wings things covered in those purple orbs and when shadows fighting it fires a small chaos spear at the bio lizard

What I'm waiting on are two things: 1. How much will this cost? 2. How much content is there that wasn't in Generations proper? Those make all the difference.
Bro, noone of your question are about Gens, because it's why is Perfect Chaos, wasn't te Death Egg taken down, why were we fighting Shadow and Silver, Where the hell was everyone when we fought Perfect Chaos, like these are questions that can be answer with either, created by the Time Eater or they are taken from their original timeline, or there in their little space seprate to the main timeline
@@oscarkambouris2212 This isn't a series with any proper consistent story, They'll change major aspects on a whim and the timeline basically doesn't even exist in the firstplace. Blaze has gone from being a alternate reality princess version of Sonic, to being an unrelated eprson from the future of 06 With Silver, to being in a midway of the two being both from the future and an alternate dimension, to being back to being alternate reality Sonic but still hanging out with Silver. Classic Sonic has also went from just being a different design of of a unified Sonic, to a younger Sonic, to being a Sonic from an alternate universe. Sonic is not a series where the lore/timeline matters, 99.9% of the fandom doesn't care or pay attention, and neither does SEGA. We just kinda go with the flow, writing being "in character" is what matters more than anything like a timeline.

4:25 shadow did actually teleport before like this in sonic and the black knight. It wasn‘t like oming attack but he slashed with his sword after every teleport.
i'm a huge huge shadow fan i'm definitley gunna get it shadow is way way better than the modern sonic and classic sonic i can't wait for the game to be finished this year will be huge for shadow
It looks like they took Shadow straight from Forces (the boost and jump effects are the exact same) while Sonic looks the same as Gens. I hope they make the effects look like Gens because it looks better imo
This is some of the most outlandish takes I've heard after a game announcement. Completely ignoring Final Chase and speculating some huge backstory is completely unrealistic considering what generations at its core is.
I feel like this might be a extremely small or no chance of happening when this remaster comes out but I hope that with this mode that Mephiles can make a small appearance as either as a secret last boss or as a cameo/ small reference

Between the moves like Chaos Spear, the Frontiers spawning, the clearly Frontiers esque QTE cutscenes, etc. I'm assuming Shadow is going to play very similar to Frontiers style with multiple combat moves (and possibly a skill tree) with the bosses being like Titan Fights.

I think our main villain of this story will be black doom (most likely brought back due to the nature of traveling space) and the enemies appearing from the red circle are likely just illusions, created by the hypnosis (similar to house, shadow relived some missions aboard the ark with Maria because of black doom trying to hypnotizing him.)

If you look carefully in the trailer, when Shadow flies through the kaleidoscope-like thing, the buildings in the background are actually buildings from the Soleanna hub world in 06, so it's likely Mephiles will return ;)
I am glad I was wrong. The Shadow portion of the collection is going to a perfect tie in with the movie. The main thing I'm really concerned on is if they'll nail the level design of his stages and how exactly will his story take place during Generations. The contrast will be so funny between Gens non-existent simple story and Shadow going through PTSD of his past.
in the OG generations intro shadow wasn't present in the surprise party for sonic with the rest of the cast, so in terms of timeline maybe this takes place at the same time eggman and the time eater appears and send everyone trought time but a bit earlier than that, maybe eggman goes after shadow first and somehow black doom is involved, and it connects with the main story once shadow reunites with sonic during his boss fight

I'm surprised you didn't mention it, but at 8:01, you can see a yellow projectile fire at the Biolizard as Shadow's hand glows and a unique animation plays. It seems like he's able to throw a Chaos Spear in gameplay.

Anyone else really hates Shadow's running animation since the boost era? Also really hates that his boosts animation is just him flying? SA2 had a great running animation, they couldn't just speed up his skating speed like in SA2 when he's at top speed. But anyways, can't wait for this!
I would've preferred them to remaster a different game, but this remaster looks pretty fire. I hope it lives up to the hype.
People keep missing it, but notice how the homing attack doesn't have a "delay" after hitting an enemy. Which breaks the sense of speed. Despite using the Frontiers engine, they have tweaked it. I'm pretty sure the control is a mix between Generations/Frontiers. Which is basically Dream Team's controls. For the arena boss battles, he needs to control well to move back, forward, turn, or use his powers aimed accurately. I know for a fact that the controls are closer to Frontiers' Open Zone than the CyberSpace. Calling it now.
Afterall, this will be the groundwork for Sonic moving forward.

I think it's obvious based on the trailer that we saw footage focused mainly on reimagining STH and SA2 as glorified Generations stages with Biolizard confirmed as a boss and Dooms Eye suggesting the confirmation of Black Doom or Devil Doom. I personally think we can expect another Sonic Heroes and 06 stage/stages. Since Shadow has only really had a major role in 5 mainline games, they could either stick with that which would include Forces in the game if possible, or break the convention and just stretch it out to 2 stages per each of the 4 initial games with 1 original stage if they want 9 to mirror the base game. But it seems like they may just be keeping it focused on STH and SA2, but that's assuming it's short like Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth By Sleep, as a sort of prelude to a future title as it was. I for one think it shouldn't be any shorter than at least 5 stages as a sort of expansion, but knowing episode Shadow, who's to say since that was short.

Honestly can definitely understand your frustration at first with the leaks. I love gens but other games deserve the remaster or modern port treatment like heroes or unleashed. For me I was very low with my expectations since the other remasters that have come out especially since this is my favorite game of all time. But when I saw this trailer and the game looked the same and great as ever, but then the shadow stuff came out and it felt like I got constantly blasted by huge gushes if wind and hype IT LOOKS SO FIRE and the story seems really interesting, but I am cautious about the gameplay, physics, and level design. I love the love horizon but it has many flaws including the level design which I do love, overall cautiously hype for this mainly the shadow stuff. Great discussion video btw.
When generations came out, there was discourse on the internet about how cool it would be if the Sonic Adventure style 3d games were represented within generations as its own distinct playstyle. Some people even said they could add Shadow into the game as the representative of that era. My first thought when i saw this was "Oh, they're doing that thing people talked about when generations first came out."
I really hope we get to see more of Shadow's side of Sonic Forces.

Hope we get a Flame Core themed level as well with a Mephiles encounter, if we're about to relive Shadow's past that feels like a must-have. 06 director has confirmed Shadow remembers 06 and it is a fixed part of the timeline in some way (as seen with the existence of Crisis City in OG Gens) so yeah, I'm hoping we get to see Sonic's best villain make a comeback as well.

Why TF would they remake 06 when P06 is already coming together basically just as good as anyone could possibly remake the game.
The job has already been done, and SEGA themselves admit the fans can outdo them at times,
Why would they spend a bunch of money/time to remake one of their most contraversial and poorly recieved games ever when someone else already did it right for free.
And the Shadow (Game) content being featured here is moreso alike to how Crisis City is in OG generations, how Silver has reappeared, and how some characters have been improved/redeemed in the comics and such.
They're taking the elelemts that could have potential from their old failed projects and trying to do them right wih a second chance and new home.
Similar to how Crash Team Racing Remake included characters and stages from all across the series and gave failed characters a chance to shine.
After the music we got in Sonic Frontiers I'm excited to see what the shadow music in this game will be
I would've preferred if they gave Unleashed this treatment instead of Gens, i.e, Sonic x Shadow Unleashed. The Shadow content looks cool, but I feel Generations really doesn't need a remaster. It still looks good, plays great and is on Steam. Unleashed is still stuck on 6 gen consoles and emulators or the Unleashed mod for Generations, which doesn't have all the content from Unleashed (for better or worse if you really hate the werehog that badly, lmao).
You could even give Shadow a werehog form, for the extra fan service.
The teleportation move is Chaos Snap. It's usable in Sonic '06. Also, that first level is the Ark.

Sonic Unleashed remaster/remake would be impossible because SEGA would have to choose between the PS3/360 version or the Wii/PS2 version and the fans are divided on which is better than the other. For example, Luke from Kwingsletsplays prefers the Wii/PS2 to the PS3/360 because it's more streamlined. However, Zupersonic, a former let's player, prefers the 360/PS3 to the Wii/PS2. No matter which one ends up remastered or remade, one or the other groups don't win.

I hope that after the events of sonic x shadow generations that shadow learns to let go of his past, THIS ACTUALLY MAKES SENSE in later games after generations shadow doesn't hesitate to work with sonic at all e.g: forces he even smiles maybe showing that he got over his past and is willing to show more emotion
shadow has always worked with Sonic every time he is found in the games, if you talk about other media it is a completely different thing

The level you are seeing at 2:50 is Final Chase from Sonic Adventure 2.
The Shadow stuff could be cool I guess but I gotta be honest, From the trailer I can't tell the difference between the remaster and the original lol, That game's visuals still hold up very well and it definitely didn't need a remaster. I think instead what we needed is a Sonic Generations 2, same concept but different levels, imagine Sonic Mania levels recreated in 3d for example!

I wonder since I assume the sonic's gameplay footage in this trailer was very much just the og generations gameplay, because it looks the exact same and the fact that shadow's boost aura effect is very different from the OG generations one, is this trailer just using the OG generations footage because they don't have the remake stuff done yet, or is it gonna be done in a way that the shadow's side is a different executable, or are they actually going to remake generations so 1. Sonic's and Shadow's content can be in 1 game, and 2. because they can replace havok engine to something else. If they in fact are remaking it, I am kinda worried that they will dullify the experience by making it more like forces/frontiers' cyberstage levels (I love cyberstage levels but the way it feels isn't what I'd necessarily want for Sonic, other than maybe the way the air boost works).

I am curious how similarly to the original Generations it’ll be. Because in the regular game, we get all these previous bosses and characters and places, but none of them really factor into the story, they’re all just set dressing for the Time Eater. I have to wonder if Black Doom/Doom’s Eye is gonna be the same, where it appears for a specific level/boss fight and doesn’t contribute to the story. The hallway it was first shown in DOES remind me of the “rival” battles in the original, against characters like Silver and Metal Sonic, but who knows, for now it’s just cool to see him in HD, and I hope we get to see his main form soon too

If it just turns out to be "Shadow In Sonic generations" or "every game that has happened since generations is just slapped with shadow on it with a fresh coat of paint." it's gonna be disappointing and predictable, Sega is clearly trying REALLY HARD to make us forget Shadow ever used guns in the first place. xD
They just need to roll with it, of course not make it a focus point but it's just something he /can utilize/ if the need is there, but im not gonna claim making a story based around the idea that shadow can use guns but not make it a pointless add-on but something that flows for story reason is easy or anything, like how else can he show power without outright using his chaos powers in front of humans? guns. hate to say it but shadow just has /that/ vibe that allows him to be one of the few sonic characters that can hold a 'human' weapon and not look completely laughable.

there was this archie comics ideia to bring black doom and mephiles together to fight shadow, purple isn`t a color usually associated with the Black Arms but Mephiles, I don´t know maybe I'm wishing to much, there is also the theory that the time eater was a fragment o mephiles and Ian Flynn (Archie-IDW comic Sonic writer) liked the idea.
Fun fact Shadow does actually have a brother in the comics he looks a lot more like black doom but he's still a hedgehog

I hope they add more stages for Sonic. Shadow however...what stages will they add? Shadow doesn't have many stages that are just for himself, unless they add every, or a few, stages from his own game, Shadow the Hedgehog, he can't have Unleashed, he cant have SA1, Sonic Heroes shared stages and so did Sonic 06. So my guess is there will be a few stages from SA2 and Shadow.
Either way I'm super excited to play as Shadow IN A MODERN SONIC GAME!

You know, I wouldn't be surprised if Shadow's story is connected to what happened in Frontiers in some way, since there were a few hints (particularly how one of the stage themes and at least one of the layouts seem to come from memories of places Sonic hasn't been) that Shadow might have interacted with the Ancients' cyberspace at some point.

I think they did this to reset lore ( again ). To populate more shadow games (as we get skins for superstars for shadow too). Also putting this game in hedgehog engine allows precident unleashed and heroes to get ported
Stuff I noticed in the trailer was that the bio lizard seem to have these like electric wings things covered in those purple orbs and when shadows fighting it fires a small chaos spear at the bio lizard

This isn't a series with any proper consistent story,
They'll change major aspects on a whim and the timeline basically doesn't even exist in the firstplace.
Blaze has gone from being a alternate reality princess version of Sonic, to being an unrelated eprson from the future of 06 With Silver, to being in a midway of the two being both from the future and an alternate dimension, to being back to being alternate reality Sonic but still hanging out with Silver.
Classic Sonic has also went from just being a different design of of a unified Sonic, to a younger Sonic, to being a Sonic from an alternate universe.
Sonic is not a series where the lore/timeline matters, 99.9% of the fandom doesn't care or pay attention, and neither does SEGA.
We just kinda go with the flow, writing being "in character" is what matters more than anything like a timeline.

4:25 shadow did actually teleport before like this in sonic and the black knight. It wasn‘t like oming attack but he slashed with his sword after every teleport.

This is some of the most outlandish takes I've heard after a game announcement. Completely ignoring Final Chase and speculating some huge backstory is completely unrealistic considering what generations at its core is.
I feel like this might be a extremely small or no chance of happening when this remaster comes out but I hope that with this mode that Mephiles can make a small appearance as either as a secret last boss or as a cameo/ small reference
