I am 71 husband is 65 disabled since he was 42! My heart is so happy when watching u. Wish we had made different decisions in life… Don’t ever change what u are doing! Many memories!!! U are an amazing family!!❤❤
I just posted Zach & Jen a message that is almost like yours, both my husband & myself are disabled & I wish we had made different decisions in our lives as well, my husband will be 68 in July & I just turned 66 in March... wish we had a plot of land & a few chickens... if you have a mind to it....... look up my posting & read what I just wrote & then I slipped down a few postings & found yours......We both are living our lives through Zach & Jen's life I'm guessing.... Take care my friend.....take care....
I am very busy sound the house and outside. Things keep being more difficult for him. I love watching Stivers … I could watch 24/7. My Justus a very bad diabetic and things cost so much for him. But I’m putting Them on my Christmas list! I planted a good size hard this year. It has all done well but my tomatoes. Not sure why. We live in Southwest Iowa on 3 acres that he was raised on. 2 brother in laws as well. We had a two story old farmhouse we lived in for thirty years on a lonely gravel road. Decided we need to get closer to paved road and put up a modular home and 3 car garage. Wish I was back at old home.
The first thing my husband does when we move is to put up a clothesline. My favorite chore is hanging out the laundry. When our granddaughter was 4, i was out hanging clothes and she said "grandma, why do you hang your clothes outside? I said, because they smell so good. She said yeah, they smell like 🌞 sunshine." Every time since then when I am hanging clothes, I think of that. Thanks for the tour! I am new to your channel and very glad I found it. ❤😊
I have lived in ky all my life. Every time I went to other States, I am so glad to get back to Kentucky. I don't believe there's much flatland, But the land is so durable. Rich soil, Our trees are beautiful. The air is different. Always so glad to be home. You have to watch out for bobcats and coyotes, when hunting.. Blackbear is starting to come in to Kentucky. But they scare easy. So far. Kentucky just feels more like God's country. Blessings to you and your Homestead
Beautiful property being a new homesteader I appreciate how you teach us while you’re giving your tour. You make things so easy to understand and you’re very matter of fact. I took notes on the goats parasite topic and the petting zoo it was very useful I also have turkeys, goats, Kunekune pigs 33 layers and 16 Cornish Cross 2 kids that homeschool ❤you guys are awesome thx
I love your enthusiasm...its a beautiful place! You guys have not only brought it back to life, but you have made it a great place for your children to grow up. Keep up the good work!
Such a beautiful form I've been following you for years now and I love the creativity you have and the ability to work through things your family is awesome. Beautiful loving and kind
Took me down memory lane Family The lovedays in fontana calif. Had black walnuts and yep remember the ice cream. My that was 55 yrs ago yep awhile ago. Your comment jogged a memory many moons ago lol Having a remember when moment Have a beautiful day
Just had an idea pop in mind when ya mentioned "help with Jenny's Farm Stand!! Have yall thought about maybe putting an ad out or word around at some of your near by farm related stores of maybe a teenager that lives near you to hire to just be in the store? Maybe even a retiree just looking for a little extra income! Of course, if your financially able to. Love your farm, family and videos. Yall have an absolute slice of heaven right there on your Homestead! ❤
When I saw they were wanting to someone to work in store 🙃 I was like oooh that would be awesome then I realized it's in Kentucky which is fine but I'm not retired yet..couple years to go lol beautiful farm dream to be in a place like theirs.
I have 24 acres. But I never could afford mowers or fencing. After my husband died, I got behind with garden and orchard etc, had to work outside the home. Now the invasive trees are taking over everything. I have mobility challenges now too. The place has so much potential.
Absolutely gorgeous but I got lost for a minute when your dog was going after the cat! LOL I was like, "Oh no!". You guys have done an amazing job and may Father continue to bless you. Thanks so much for sharing. Much love.
Everything looks beautiful. Seems like yesterday you were sitting on your pole barn front porch telling us about that farm. Time flies by when you're having fun. Stay safe, stay well.
I hope you advertise your Air B&B with chances for people to learn to homestead and garden, learn about farm animals. I would love to learn more about raising chickens myself. Yes, I can learn from books and the internet but doing "hands-on" is so much more rewarding.
We have 40 acres and are trying to get our cabin built. The last few years have been a challenge with stuff getting in the way. We are trying to get there this year. We live the peacefulness of the remoteness of the property. We are still doing what we can where we are ed at now.
That's the Aussie way, drying our clothes on the clothesline :) You two did a great job building your homestead. I love the add ons, you know the shop, fence, garden, and animals. I love the woody area too.
❤Thank you - that was a great tour! How did you all find your property? Did you have a farm realtor, or just look online…? And did you already know that you wanted to be in that specific town, or was it the property itself that made you buy in that area/town?❤ God bless!❤
Very nice layout, love the wood fences you did and Jen's farm stand. Nice to have the airbnb too for extra income. Lots of work but you are reaping the benefits instead of making someone else rich.
cloths lines are a must..nothing like freshly bleached white cotton sheets line dried..I even hang out in the winter..one of the best creature comforts..lol
I'm in South Central KY and yes, green is vital with all the rain. Have y'all tried black walnut pie? Same recipe as pecan but with black walnuts! Yummy!!! One of my favorites in the fall.
We love our Guinea’s they are a great addition. Your property is beautiful and meant for your wonderful family. You can adopt feral fixed barn cats for your property as well, we have a great program in Florida rescuing them.
It showed her brother in this episode, he was just far away. He is the one Zach was talking to when he said to put the dog in the barn yard. It's nice that they have someone to help them. Having a homestead it a lot of work.
@@melissahines5718 I mustve missed that, thanks! With all that they have to do to keep the farm going, they are definitely blessed to have family there to help out! I do miss Jed's comments he was putting in some of the past videos tho... hilarious!!
Zack, I love the fencing you built...the posts cut at a slant to let water run off, preventing rot. Looks like a very secure fence for the animals. and very bucolic look. Thanks for the homestead tour.
10/31/2020 was the very first vlog that I've ever watched, & that was when all of your goats went missing, Man what a time to start watching you guys, it did hook me into your lives, I had to keep coming back to see what the outcome was... I'm saying all of this, because I have seen BIG CHANGES in your farm, in the Kids & in your lives........ You guys are amazing, one of these days I'm going to have to have a Stivers fun filled day & go back & watch all of your postings I'll just have to make a day of it & watch them back to back... I wonder what that would do to your ratings... if it would harm you guys let me know & I won't do that.... I wouldn't want to do anything that would harm you guys or your ratings...So if you read this posting PLEASE LET ME KNOW.... I wouldn't think that it would, but then I don't know how all of these things work... You both have put a lot of BLOOD/SWEAT & TEARS into your Homestead, you should be very PROUD of all that you've done. My husband & I are looking into trying to buy a plot of land & a house, but there are a lot of loopholes that we're having to deal with, so if you have a mind to it please pray that God will have compassion upon us & allow us to find that special place that he's hand picked out just for us. We're both up there in years Tim is going to turn 68 in July & needless to say we're both so out of shape that it's not even funny. Well to be honest we both are disabled & have a lot of health iss. so we can't get to big of a place, because neither one of us could take care of a large place. I'd just like to be able to have a few chickens, we pretty much can't afford to have any other farm animals, because we simply couldn't take care of them nor could we afford the VET bills.... Why am I telling you all of this? I guess because its 3:55AM. & I'm feeling Happy for you & a let down for us, you've made something out of your lives and have such an awesome homestead to show for it & I'm very PROUD of you both. & I'm feeling sorta bad about our lives, because we've not started out this adventure in a better way..... but then our lives were so different when we started off this journey back in 1998.... We can't cry over the past & since so much water has crossed over the bridge we can only work with what we now have now & with what little time we have left on this earth....Love you both very much!!! Let me know about watching your postings back to back...................................
Several years ago when I first started watching your homestead videos from your previous homestead you used the Old Kentucky Home song. I would love to hear the song again as you open your videos. Thank you in advance.
