When you finally realized the movie was not a love story but it was something more than that. this is just like me (shoya) everytime I go to school even in a public places I feel like I'm all alone . It's just so hard to approach someone because I'm afraid of being judge. So many voices in my head and I don't even understand my self having this anxiety and depression is like being scared and tired at the same time. So every time I watch this movie I imagined that I was like shoya. he fought that situation in his life I'm so proud of him , like it's his achievement , but I'm the one who's happy for him.
I can say the same, even now I'm still struggling to connect with others. But I kept fighting anxiety and depression daily just like Shoya, to learn how to live contently someday.
That was never a love story. It's a drama that explores themes of su1cide, mental health, friendship and real life problems. The romance part is just a bonus

This whole masterpiece of a movie is one gigantic emotional roller coaster. I haven't cried this much since watching my favorite Danganronpa characters die.
I wish I could’ve met Nishimiya when I was younger. I’m a partial mute to the point I only talk with people I am truly comfortable with (close family and friends), so I have communicated by writing my entire life. We could’ve gotten along so well since we communicate in the same way. It’s really difficult to communicate by writing, because often times people are impatient or the conversation will move on before I’m done writing. But with her she would patiently wait for my response, and I would patiently wait for her response. That would be so nice.

Yuzuro is the most amazing sister anyone could want. She could’ve called Nishimiya a freak and be embarrassed of being her sister and bullied her but instead she loved and supported her and was very brave and caring. Love her

I think she could be a perfect fit for her. But as for the others, what do you guys think?
In a perfect adaption. Many unknown actors who are great would fill the main character rolls. And who you mentioned to okay Shouko would be cool to see. Maybe someone else who is unknown. Idk. And the setting would have to be changed (Americanized) to fit. That’s what I think

Live action adaptations will never work. Western adaptions in particular, will never work. Neither does that mean Japanese adaptations will work either.
i hate that naoko or whatever her name was so much.. if i would saw her bullying nishimiya i would go straight up to her and would slap her so hard that she starts to cry i wouldn’t careless, that will show naoko how much pain nishimiya has to go trough. 😑💔
Shoya is given too much empathy and not enough blame. His friends were fake, encouraged him to do such things and thats not fair but you know whats actaully worse and even more unfair? The person on the recieving end. This had to happen to him or else he would have learnt nothing and carried on this behaviour.
This is more detailed in the manga but, for a long time he would put X's on people's faces and refuse to listen cause his anxiety told him that everyone around him was whispering and saying awful things about him. So when he finally takes his hands off his ears it represents Ishida finally starting to accept love from others and realizing that no one is saying anything bad about him or judging him, they're having normal conversations, as well as it representing him finally opening up to the outside world and ceasing to shut everything and everyone around him out. Like a deaf person hearing for the first time.
It’s implied that Ms.Ishida ripped her earring off her ear as an “eye for an eye” for when Shouya ripped Shouko’s hearing aid off her ear. Which injured her. A payment with blood. To truly show that the Ishida’s were sorry for the troubles caused
