ABOUT NEW AMSTERDAM
In the wake of the ambulance crash that ended Season 1, medical director Dr. Max Goodwin grieves the death of his wife, Georgia, and learns the difficulties of being a single parent - all the while continuing his commitment to solve systemic health care issues at the hospital. Add in his new responsibilities as a father and with cancer still lingering in the rearview mirror, everyone around Max must wonder how long he can sustain this impossible load. But "How can I help?" is not just Max's catchphrase, it's his reason for living. As long as he's helping others, Max is able to find hope in the most hopeless of places. The cast includes Ryan Eggold, Janet Montgomery, Freema Agyeman and Jocko Sims, with Tyler Labine and Anupam Kher.

The biggest mistake the writers made on this show was the way they ruined this couple for no reason. Max had the best chemistry with her BY FAR compared to his other love interests. It just made no sense to do that.
What happened in the end anyway, I stopped watching when she left.
@@chingchingchingching2064 I didn't watch S5, but I read some comments about the horror story; I will never watch S5. Poor Max; the writers just destroyed his "fickle" character in the end.
i won’t ever get over it! 💔
@@chingchingchingching2064from what I heard, Sharpe comes back and asks to see Max but he decides to stay with his current gf Dr Wilder. I believe. I haven’t watched.
yes, he chose Wilder, but then he leaves her to go overseas working for WHO. Then, it jumps to Luna being the Medical Director and pretty much entering the scene similar to how he did.
After he retrieved the ring and he saw everybody rushing to her room I was like oh please not again poor guy!! Phew, close one.
I've never seen this show but i BUY that these people are in love - that man WORSHIPS her ❤❤
It was a very good show.
He’s just a great actor, should have seen him on Blacklist with Keen
The bartender monster should be charged with attempted murder.
Loved them together.
Ditto!
love this couple to bits
I refused to watch further after Dr Sharpe left the show. Their Chemistry was the best i ever saw in any movie, couldn't continue knowing they wouldn't be together no more.
Yes, i started watching episode 1 of season 5. Man, i cant bear Max’s acting on how heartbroken he is so I stop, i just cant. He’s too good with that role
Doctor sharp was the real deal
These two are amazing!!!!
Love Max and Helen❤
Eles conquistaram o público....1000
I felt every emotion this episode 😂 im hooked. I don't want it to end 😢
Oh my goodness my emotions where all over the place through this clip 😅 happy tears, sad tears, happy tears 😂😂
Mine too, and I've seen this several times, but it's still emotional.
Max and helen season 4 is absolutely heartbreaking 💔 im not much of a crier, but my god i bawled watching this season. 😢
I am so happy for those two :)
You know it's not real right?
They don’t end up together.
Krásný pár jsou Max a Helen ❤💯🦋🕊️👍 a moc pěkné video a spřízněné duše ❤💯🦋🕊️👍
They are so cute together I love this series❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
❤💯👍🦋🥰🕊️Líbilo se Max a Helen moc krásný pár ❤💯👍🦋🥰🕊️
They missed a perfect ending, max should've moved and went to her
Had pulmonary emboli from Factor V Leiden. Clots were in both lungs. Could feel them going through my heart for about a month previously. They were treated w/ clot busting drugs. I don’t understand the procedure used here. Why not a medical approach?
Max and Helen ❤️🫶
Doctors don't run MRIs, CTs or Xrays either...they wouldn't know how to turn it on. However...it's the magic of TV...LOL
😭🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
So much of these shows are ridiculous this way. So much would never happen
@@This-Is-My-Little-Corner Then never watch TV again. Or movies.
Because nobody wants to hang out with the person who thinks they’re smart for pointing out that fiction is fictional. It’s not clever, it’s obnoxious.
@@mc-rn8ro 😂 oh? Is that right? Maybe take that up with the person that made the original comment. Because we know what is real in these situations doesn’t make us obnoxious. 😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂 As a doctor, I approve this msg 🤭🤭
Couldn’t they just give her blood thinners! Surgery should always be the last resort! Plus he shouldn’t be her doctor being romantically involved with her, that clouds the judgment!
Too bad so sad
KNEW something was going to happen while he was gone, people don't just recover and then keep recovering on these shows...
Did they even consult medical personnel?
Can't wait!
Martha!!!
Netflix only released 3 series in Australia. Where are the rest?
What season
This is so ridiculously unrealistic and breaks all sorts of ethics codes and policies - no way the hospital would allow a partner to be in the operating room for procedures like this or to resuscitate their partner. There are good reason why family member or close friends shouldn't be each other's doctors. 🤦♀
Wait a minute... a TV show is unrealistic? 🤯*EXPLOSION NOISE* Woah.. repeat that for me again? 🤯🤯 Do you seriously mean that a TV show isn't realistic? 🤯 *DOUBLE EXPLOSION NOISES* 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯 I thought this was entirely accurate every time I watched, not just an over-dramatized show!! 🤯🤯🤯
When I worked as a medical scribe for a surgeon there was one time when a woman's husband was actually in the operating room during the procedure, he was a doctor in the hospital and wanted to be there for the procedure I've only seen or heard of it happening twice.
I think it’s allowed as long as the hospitals head is ok with it, doesn’t happen often tho but it does happen
Her partner was the director of New Amsterdam, why it's so unrealistic for him to be there...The show itself is so good and inspiring!!
Love Max and Helen ❤❤❤
@@rk6607 because its a massive liability
Why did the bartender roofie all of the docs?
Because of Covid. He thought it was just a bad cold and thought the doctors and nurses were just scaring everyone for nothing, his business got shut down and was struggling during the lockdown. He hated how first responders were looked at as heroes.
Are there any doctors in the comment section available to break this down for us?
Is multi organ surgery the first option in this case? I know I'm missing alot of context as this is a 10-minute clip, but it seems like rushing into very big procedures without considering other options.
Is the surgery to remove the clots done laproscopic? Can they suction them out?
Can't they inject clots with TPA and just monitor extremely close for anything moving into a "911, cut her open now"? Kinda like the one that moved to the lungs?
Ok so nurse here, surgery would be done laparoscopically for the arteries they can reach. I’m not sure why they would automatically do a hysterectomy (maybe they can’t reach the arteries??)
The whole reason why they don’t wanna do TPA/other clot busters is because if it doesn’t work, they’ll have to rush her to surgery and cut her open - which is a HUGE risk for her bleeding out considering the admin of TPA.
Med student here, I've never heard of multi organ surgery for DIC. Normally we'd transfuse platelets if necessary, combined with thrombolytics and supportive care and treating the underlying source. Flushing out the toxin and busting the clots would be the priority
Nurse here. I think what they were trying to show us here is how deadly DIC is especially when there were so many organs affected. I mean five surgeries plus a hysterectomy is a bit much. However, it was because of who she was. We would have gone to anti-thrombolytics (it was too late for TPA), and platelets as needed. The risk she took with busting the clots is not a risk that we would have taken at a real hospital. Because the risk of a clot breaking loose could cause a catastrophe, like how it went to the lungs and they rushed to get it out by embolectomy, but there were so many that one still got to her brain. That is why Max did not want to do that. Surgery is invasive, but at least it wouldn't have risked Pulmonary embolism, stroke or heart attack. Looking at how bad her legs were, I mean she had DVTs everywhere. You shouldn't even be moving with that many clots.
❤❤ inesquecíveis
Max crazy ideas to change hospital systems so ridiculous 😂
A roofied drink caused a hysterectomy? Im so confused. I know she has blood clots but still. Just how
no she needs a hysterectomy bc of the clots
Tsk, no "Clear!" before using the defib! Inexcusable!
I think I’m gonna start watching this show
Don't watch S5!😂 😭
It's a great show better then Chicago with Dr Manning... You got Iggy he is awesome it's just sad that they just cut the show off just like that the left fence hanging
@@linda_smilesrfree2744literally i pretend it doesn’t exist 😭😭
@@tatanayaalexandra6967even Natalie and Will got their happy ending. Max and Helen should’ve gotten theirs, they were so freakin good together and omg their chemistry 😭they honestly better than Natalie and will
❤❤❤❤❤❤
I’m so confused
Wow! They got together?!?
This was good and captivating until they wrote out Freema. Lost their audience when she left and they made her out to be so unethical and unable to defend herself. Oh well.
Freema was on Doctor Who, wasn't she? I thought she looked familiar!
A roofie did all of that?!
What episode is this ?
My mom suffered Thu an entire year of vaginal bleeding years after going Thu menopause. She had finally had enough and went to a Dr to find out what was wrong and she found out she had ovarian cancer that had progressed to stage 4 and the only option she had left was a hysterectomy, so at almost 60 years old she had to get all of her vaginal women organs taken out. At that point in her life she didn't care cuz she had already gone Thu menopause and didn't plan on having any other kids that late in life.
I Think this is the worst ending for sharpwin😢
Also, He may not be doing the actual procedure, but he still really shouldn't be in the room.
It's Max u can't tell him ntn
It’s entertainment people. Why wound you think it would be true to life?
Nooo I can’t lol
has any healthcare professional ever said "...or s/he's going to die"??
Where is @Dr.Mike ?
I really feel like we need to see Dr Mike respond to this 🤣🤣🤣
I don’t watch this show but I thought he was dying and was married or something and having a baby what happened?
Alot 😂
His wife died in in car accident.
His wife died in an accident she had a baby called Luna he raised her alone from birth
Oh that was season 1
Dude if I could have a hysterectomy I would be all for it except the scar and the fact that you can get heart problems afterwards as someone with PCOS and chronic Lyme disease I’ve known i was never going to have kids since the age of 12 except the scar and the fact that you can get heart problems afterwards.
Why heart problems?
@@heathercontois4501 I believe it has to do with the fluctuation of hormones.
@@amandajackson668 That makes sense since post menopausal women have a raised risk of heart problems.
Same here, if I could have a hysterectomy tomorrow, I'd do it. I'm not worried about the scar. But there are risks to consider...
Generally, the risk for heart problems comes from having an oophorectomy, not a hysterectomy. Hysterectomy is removal of the uterus, while oophorectomy is removal of one or both ovaries. Ovary removal would mean your body wouldn't be making the estrogen it needs anymore, and you'd need hormone replacement therapy unless you want the risk of serious illness to skyrocket even more.
I hated this season, they fought to be together for so many seasons and you just ruined the whole thing. glad it ended😭😭
Awww he wants a baby with her as well😭😭😭😫🤧so freegn adorbs!!!!!!!
Marriage First 💒 Oh my Lanta🤧🤧😫🤧♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️.
Doctor who?
🤤💔
Nice for story line but this is a breach of the hippacratic oath a doctor can't be a loved ones doctor
Never saw this in the hippocrate vows ..i helped my 2 parents because 8 knew them , their illness and their mind never going to told their doctor the true..my mom lived 22 y more and my father still alive at 94 y old this month , i kown friends who didnt traeated their youngest but helped theirs parents . I helped my mom during some procedures , she was so afraid , she was almost paszout by her fear
Actually they can be the Dr if it’s agreed to…..I know people who are related and they’re doctors to family members.
How is it in any way entertaining for a medical show occuring currently to be doing all these impossible things constantly that would never happen in real life? This isn't entertaining,it's ridiculous.unless they make clear that this show is in no way whatsoever based in any sort of reality.this an any other shows like it.

Molto ripetitivo sul razzismo...
It was disgusting.
Promoviendo el aborto ??.. que no importan las consecuencias ?.. en serio ?
?
What??
A hysterectomy is not an abortion.
I don’t think they were promoting abortion. I think the possible hysterectomy was presented as a dramatic plot issue. It added tension and suspens
What in the name of Grey's Anatomy are you talking about? Hello? A Hysterectomy is NOT an Abortion. Helen wasn't pregnant. Were you even watching the clip?
Why does she have locs, braids, and curls? What is this?
Faux locs?
The way she likes to wear her hair?
TYPICAL NETFLIX THIS PROGRAM GOOD TYPE OF SHOW BUT IT HAS TWO GAY WOW BAD BAD SHOW
