I've seen your Mage Knight videos up to this point and I'd like to thank you for a job well done. Not only you explain some key concepts of the rules but also provide some great insights!
Great video which helps understand a lot of the rules...one I'm still not 100% clear on is the no effect of red cards against an enemy with fire resistance (or blue cards for ice)...by "red card" I assume it means red spells...but does it also include other red cards such as a red Advance Action or fire unit? Thanks for any clarification and keep up the great videos!
Danielle Lauzon Thanks so much for your kind words. The rule does indeed apply to advanced action cards as well. This doesn’t mean they can’t be used but you have to be careful. The way I keep it straight is I imagine red mana for example powering the effect of the card and then think about whether that effect directly interacts with the enemy. Creating attack does not count as such an interaction. It’s more like the card creates a weapon and then you use weapon, possibly with other weapons from other sources against whomever, etc. But an effect that destroys a single target involves the magic directly interacting with the enemy that resists such magic, so the effect fails. This is why certain unit abilities also fail, using the same rationale. I hope that helps.
@@plothos8380 Thank you for the fast response and yes that does help...so essentially, a red cad (against a fire resistant enemy) that produces attacks (Fire attacks halved) is not affected by this resistance...but red cards that produce an "enemy does not attack" or "attack reduced by X" or "enemy destroyed" have no effect...are these statements accurate?
Yeah, but be careful with the attack. The creation of the attack is not prevented, but the attack can still be affected (not prevented) by resistance IF it is fire attack. That is, for example, should a red card provide physical attack, the fire resistance is effectively ignored. If it creates fire attack, then this will be halved. But yes, special effects from such a card would be stopped IF they target the enemy. Special effects that target something else would still work (i.e. Blood Rage would still wound you even if you’re fighting a fire resistant enemy).
@@plothos8380 Hello, I have a question about the Ritual Attack card. I gained it and realized I must throw away (from the game) another Action Card each time to get it's effect. I'm questionning the value of this card if I must throw away another Action Card every time. Is there something about this card that I am not getting?
I love Tovy, but even I wouldn't say he's overpowered. The knight that can probably get the most ridiculous is Arythea with the right skills and cards. Norowas in a longer game can field a huge army of allied units and become unstoppable. Tovak is more reliably, steadily rock-solid, and I kinda like that. In a longer game like grand conquest, I love me some Norowas, but Tovy is my fave. He just looks the part, too, which I dig.
Odds of getting that set of dummy draws, you ask? At the start of the day, it's the odds of drawing 3 green cards, given that 5 of your 20 are green, so 5/20 * 4/19 * 3/18 = 1/114, or a little under 1%. (It'll take 4 flops 24% of the time, and 5 flops 75%.) On balance, though, hard to feel *too* sorry for you. :P

Thanks so much Giovani!
These really were a labor of love, and a ton of work, so it's very gratifying when people benefit from them.
At 1:05:33, I noticed Crushing Bolt sideways gave you 3 pts of attack as opposed to 2.
Danielle Lauzon
Yes. I don’t give a damn provides 3 if it is used on an advanced action, spell, or artifact. Crushing bolt is advanced, so it gives 3.
Just noticed your skill allowed 3 for Advaced Action so I now understand...☺
After city assault, pretty sure your hand size should be 11 (not 10). Base hand 7 + 2 for city leader + 2 for planning.
I think planning gives only 1

Hehe, yeah, I got pretty lucky in this game overall. I do generally have real bad luck with the dummy for some reason.
