- When The owner of this amazing punto gt 1 turned up at the garage , I was amazed how well kept it was , he took me out In it and I followed my heart not my head and purchased it.
It’s had a lot of work done being restored many years ago.
Engine wise it has a high lift cam , front mount intercooler , red magnecor Ht leads , recent rebuilt head , belts , discs pads , tyres and a scorpion exhaust system.
We have so many projects on the go at the minute not sure what to do with it although I have fallen in love with it.

Reminds me of my Broom Yellow Gt. with a terrible Magnex exhaust.
It was the first car that I had where you would suddenly see 3 figure speeds on the speedometer.

Late GT’s actually had same wheel as Barchetta, which was VERY similar to the Coupe’s (only plastic badge instead of metal). So a Coupe wheel SHOULD fit

My first car was a Dark Grey Uno Turbo mk 2 (H Reg) then sold that & had a Red Punto GT mk 3 (R Reg)
Punto GT wasnt as much fun as the uno as you mentioned i put a dump valve on it & it didnt like them as my uno did but preferred the GT for the looks.
Sold it as was doing 340 miles every other weekend when I first met the mrs (long distance relationship).
Always look for them as would love another GT again.

I had a broom yellow Punto GT back in 2008 when they were £1k cars, I bought it spur of the moment whilst my Bravo HGT was off the road. It was my first proper hot hatch and I loved it so much, until it popped the head gasket. I would have another one to relive my youth, but they're definitely not £1k cars anymore.

Miss seeing these on the road. Always loved a yellow punto turbo flying past. Just a shame I never got my license in time when they were cheap to buy 🤣

I have the mk1 sporting, had it since 2000, I was to young to get the insurance on a GT, not as fast but keeps me smiling 😃

Looks good but needs the side strips and door pilar decals. Bumper moldings in black otherwise looks like a base model. looks good tho. Not my fav model the gt1. GT2 for me 😅😂
I was sure M--ALN rang a bell. I am certain a lot of the Alfa press cars at the time had ALN. You might find it was a press car if you search every magazine of the time….

My first GT was a GT1 and the engine felt totally bomb proof compared to the 10 x GT3's ive owned over the last 20 years. This one looks good but i never saw it advertised. I think theres probably more fans of the stock GT look over the Abarth kitted look hence that might be why it wasnt snapped up before.
Like you I prefer those door cards so fitted them into my GT3. Far better design.
I would black the door B posts and the door mirror holders on the doors.
New GT1 badges can be found for about £65.
Dont believe the Coupe wheel fits the splines of the mk1 punto.
Deffo remove the decals.

I miss my GT3 sooooo much! SEB2 chip and lots of other supporting mods, brakes and suspension, rust killed her in the end!

Yes you can fit a coupe stering wheel its the same like the puntos no difrence
2L swap makes the car very nose heavy indeed.However,there's a middle road and that's the 1.6 16v bravo swap.I'm having my eyes on one atm.

I´m pretty sure that you can´t fit the Coupe steering wheel on any MK1.
The hub is different
You can't they don't fit
The Coupe Steering wheel is similar to the GT but it does not fit in the GT. Get a GT2 ou GT3 steering wheel

im canadian and i laugh at people who buy fiat's in canada, theyre not meant for our climate, but for europe its perfect.
