A great device for touring. I am waiting for a version for a separate group of users , which interacts with the audience, for example, at worship and in churches. There you need support for at least 3 sections of the song: introduction, stanza, chorus (and preferably the ending). For this purpose, additional 3/4 buttons to switch between sections of the song would be useful. That way you could repeat the chorus several times, return to the verse, etc. Still a great product!
The tempo setting you see on the screen is just to control the visual metronome. It will not affect playback speed of the wave files. So you would just create your backing tracks with any tempo changes you want. You will also be able to switch the visual metronome off if you do not want to use it.
Can you please send us an email to support@idoru.live and we can help you get that working. The 6 main outputs are mono impedance balanced, so you can treat them as balanced outputs. Can you also please check you are running the latest firmware (3.09) available here: idoru.live/downloads
The 6 outputs are impedance-balanced, so you can use balanced or unbalanced cables. Balanced cables will give the best noise rejection and signal quality if you are running to a balanced input. However, unbalanced cables will also work fine if you are not going over long cable runs.
Sorry if this is a stupid question but you can store classic 16 channel tracks on this device and send them to a soundmodule eg. a roland soundcanvas to play the sounds without a pc ?
Any way to use it like ableton live’a scene system? I.e. looping song sections and changing at the end of the loop/instant/ on the beat? Also I understand that timing is whole can of worms, but if you go to RC line loopers, there is tap tempo switch, that works very smoothly and allows for much more “live” than set tempo. I do understand that good time stretch algorithms are very hard to make or license/port on such limited hardware, tough. Than again, one box to achieve all this is amazing.
Hey, there won't be any audio time stretching functionality in this model. But you can loop songs, and then switch to a new one with a pedal/button press.
I am fairly new to controlling external devices through midi. I see that there is only one midi out. Can I send midi commands to multiple devices with this? Can one midi file send commands to multiple devices such as telling a synthesizer to change presets and an effect processor to turn effects on and off? While also sending midi clock to both devices? I would love to see a tutorial video on how to do this before I buy.
It plays type 1 and type 0 midi files, which have up to 16 channels in them. So you can set your synths and devices to respond only to a specific channel each, e.g synth is on channel 1, FX unit on channel 2 etc. When you run the midi file the devices will only respond to commands on their own designated channel. There is only one MIDI output on the P-1, but you can either daisy-chain devices using their midi thru ports (if they have them), or there are various tools out there to split a midi signal to run to multiple devices.
@@idorulive how many midi files can the idoru hold/play at one time? I have several midi commands being sent to one device. (Multiple midi tracks on Ableton that I want to load into the Idoru live. Is there a limit on how many tracks I can load? Is the Idoru still available? Where and when can I buy it?

I REALLLLLLY want to review this!!
Exciting stuff.
Very cool device! What about songs with bpm changes? Like Instant change or smooth slowdowns

What cables work best for my outputs? I’ve been having issues with it only playing stereo when I half jack it :)

Should the 1/4” cables be balanced or unbalanced?

And if one had two in tandem, could one play and sync twelve tracks simultaeneuosly?
This is planned for the firmware. It is not ready yet though.

Yes, you can play 16 channel midi files and send them to an external sound module of your choice.

I tried twice to get on the waitlist, I never received the email for me to confirm... Is the web page working?
