- Time for another vintage recipe! Today's recipe comes from my oldest cookbook, printed in 1943! Times were hard, rations and victory gardens were the way of life. One pot casseroles seemed such a great idea to be more efficient in the kitchen when many women went to work. But chicken livers and eggs? I think we can leave this one in the 40's :)

I never thought I would see a video that made Gianni wish for Banana Supreme again or was it Surprise ???? 🤣 I know you know this, but you have a pretty fantastic husband that he does this for you…. And for us…. As for the spices, we both have the Meta Given cookbook from that same time period. The wildest and craziest any of those recipes got was to include 1/2 teaspoons of chilli powder or oregano.

You were both brave to try it. My two dogs love it as a special treat. I soak them in milk overnight to tame the smell, tenderise it, and remove toxins and the metallic taste. Then chop them up and add them to cheesy scrambled eggs. They go mad for it. A cheap and cheerful treat. I add it to their diets a few times a month and their coats just shine. 😊
My dogs absolutely loved this lol! I think I will buy livers once in a while if they happen to be there just for them haha although the farts were pretty rough ☠️😂

I love fried chicken and beef liver. One of the best things at Thanksgiving is chicken liver gravy.
I grew up where no part of the animal went to waste.
I think if I ever find it fried on a menu somewhere I will order it! But at home I’m sticking to beef livers lol
