Your support and interaction mean the world to me.
Yes! People! Listen to him! I am nearly 69 and I am still in the planning stage! Get out of your heads! It is hard. Your brain will try and talk you back into planning….it is safer! It’s more comfortable! Right? Wrong because regrets will become stronger. Listen to him. Don’t be like me filled with regrets. Do this course! Trust yourself. Take that leap! What will I do? I am going to take a leap of faith. Cheers!
we have to get out of the planning stage...
I’m the person who never quits planning and buying supplies and never paints 😢… I need this whatever it is 😍
If you are a real beginner like I was/am I did the same as you, had some of the stuff but was afraid to take the first step. Then I found The Art Sherpa on UA-cam and watched some of her videos. One night I was taking care of my granddaughter and I decided to try and that was it! Her teaching style was what I needed and the great part is her lessons are at all levels so you can find easy , intermediate or hard.Good luck and remember with these guys you don't have to finish or keep up you can stop and start them or come back and they'll still be there!.
Oh dear. That’s me too. I have canvases, paints, inks, crayons, charcoal, all the mediums etc etc and paintbrushes! Oh my, but I don’t use the “good” ones because this or that piece of work doesn’t justify it 😂
I also can relate to this I buy different supplies and get so excited to use them and then am dreading to start because I am a beginner art student and am still learning the basics. I don’t want to waste my supplies on mistakes. I am realizing that mistakes and small failures develop and strengthen grit so the mistakes are part of learning and a step towards success.
Oh I’m always trying new art things and jumping feet first. Fun that way. Then if I get stuck, I will check out UA-cam 😊 for tips. I also jump head first in my day jobs. I started off working in a factory, now I work in an accounting practice doing taxes. 😊 taking risks get you moving forward. I’m all for that.
@ I was on holiday in London. Phoned my son from the art shop to get his opinion on something I thought I should get. He very wisely answered “we have enough between us already”. So I didn’t get anything. Nowadays I take an actual list nd try to stick with it
I just finished reading what everyone had to say in "An Illustrated Life" following by starting over, paying attention to every one of the many drawings by everyone there. Two days of non-stop motivation. Have everything ready to fill up a journal based on everything I read, saw and learned. If that doesn't walk me up, I don't know what will. I figured that at close to 78, I better hurry up.
I have just bought my Christmas present from my husband. He will be relieved he doesn’t have to worry about it anymore. I can’t wait!
All I can say is you are a slick marketer! What a great hook this is! Mystery course! Genius marketing!
Yes.
I am now in the making part of my creative life, and these videos have really helped me, already, to remember that making art is about making art, not researching and gathering supplies.
I studied art full time for 3 years after high school. I then stopped creating and focused on 'real work' (😂), then had a family and became ill. Slowly, during that process of losing myself to other people's expectations I also forgot about all the failed sketches that ended up in the trash during my studies. A few years ago, with only my best works, remaining, I felt the urge to paint again, but felt I couldn't live up to the artist I had been when I had less responsibility.
I decided that I had to let go of the artist I had been and allow myself to be 💩 . I'm beginning to remember how to let it flow through me and allow the works to be what they want to be. It's much more satisfying.
This is exactly it. It's why I am behind, my anxiety wants control! Love that your approach is to encourage play, risk and going for it! I'm going to push myself and take this risk. See you on Jan 1st 😊
That's the best pitch I've ever heard - so I bought it. Looking forward to it with huge anticipation!
Great to hear!
Wow! Love that phrase! Let's see what happens! Thank you so much for all the wonderful things that you are teaching us! You are a treasure!
I am learning that I need to be brave, have faith, and talk new challenges when they present themselves. When I have in the past I have been richly blessed. I think I need to do this and just see where the journey takes me. Thank you.
You got this!
This is the video we all need!
I love the spirit of this invitation. Very intrigued!
I'm IN! Really love to finally get to the next step!
Thanks to your videos i am drawing everyday, completely in love again with drawing! I will keep going!!
That's awesome! Keep going!
I love this idea! You have been such an inspiration for me in restarting my art journey and letting myself follow my creativity in a way I haven't done since I was a child!
My only question about this course - as someone in Australia, will it be self guided material/videos (whatever it may be!) or be based on US timezones? If possible for me to join in, I'm 100% in!!
The course is all self-paced, so you can learn at your own speed in your own time!
Came here to ask the same! Thanks for confirming 😊
You are so right about just jumping in. I love your videos ❤
I'm so glad!
I am intrigued 💙💚💜
It was nice to hear this! I always had so many different ideas and career paths I wanted to try in my life, but was too scared to do them. After failures, it was discouraging and depressing. I feel like just today Im starting to find and curate hopes in my life again. I hope everyone tries to remind themselves everyday that even if you try something and it flops, at least you tried and now you know what didnt work and to keep trying a different approach :)
Thanks for this, right message, right time.....not sure if there is a wrong time for encouragement
I signed up for this! Looking forward to finally "taking a risk"... it's time for doing something new and to do something I love. Thank you for inspiring me and "let's see what happens!!!"
Welcome aboard!
Happy Thanksgiving, dear Danny - and happy Thanksgiving to the Community. Grateful for your ever so inspiring messages, and comments
Same to you!
Awesome Danny! Thank you so much for posting. Rings true. After I make my pumpkin pies, I’m gonna start.😊…oh, the course…🤔..ok, signed up!
Thank you so much for what you share with us! I am signing up for this course because it sounds exactly like what I need. In the meantime, I have no plans on Thanksgiving so I am going to spend the entire day with my art supplies. Happy Thanksgiving! 😊
Happy Thanksgiving to you too!
@ thank you!
Jumping! Thanks for inspiring me to start. 🥰
Looking forward to it!
Thank you for the motivation!
It’s going to be great I’m sure!!! Can’t wait to jump in.
I am in! I love the unknowns of this. What a fun way to start the new year.
Wonderful!
I just enrolled. Looking forward to it. Thank you.
Awesome! Get ready to be inspired.
❤ to the hummingbird cameo
He whispered: "Take the course!"
Aww u got photo bombed by a hummingbird ❤❤❤ 2:04
Thanks for sharing ❤❤
And we need to accept that, like Vincent, we may never see the true impact of our creative expression in our lifetime. Just trust the pull and let the art be what it wants to be.
Omg the hummingbirds in this video!!!! I think I’m gonna take a chance. I wanted to do Illustrated Life but my childhood and life was so crappy I couldn’t draw about it. I’m gonna take the risk …… Oiy
Will this class be once a week? 3 times a week? How long is each class? Do we watch a video at our preferred time? Or is it via Zoom at a specific time?
Exactly ❤
I’d like to know to. Quite hard to buy something without knowing nothing about it.🙈 but I guess it’s a risk.
It’s prerecorded. Watch it when you can.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts
In my city, people are more into printing art on mugs, t-shirts, notebooks, screen printing, etc; but I haven´t heard about sketching. I love sketching.
That's cool! There's room for all kinds of art.
I signed up yesterday. See you on the 1st of January.
O have signed up, so excited.
I'm signed up. Let's see what happens!
Thanks for the info fellow artist!
Hi! Danny. I love your videos, and I`ve got inspired to buy a sketchbook. I have sketched half of my sketchbook of 200 pages.
It will be very interesting journey... uncovering my unknown self
Get ready for some surprises.
I'm in....I've joined the course 😊😅I'm from India with two kids under 2 but I'm excited to jump right in....time to take the plunge and see what happens...love your content Danny
You are going to love it!
If I can dig up $49, I’m in!
Great👌👌👌✅💯
What is the time commitment for the course?
So can we buy it now or do we need to wait until Black Friday?
You can buy it now. I know because I did. :)
@ thank you!
I'm in.
Will you be doing another mystery course?
Who knows? 😄
Hi Danny
Will this course be always available online for those who sign up for it, to do it at their leisure?
Yes. All our courses offer lifetime access !
@@SketchBookSkool Great. Thank you.
How do I sign up?
Clever sales tactic 😂
Is the class followed in our own time? I’m in the U.K.
It’s not live. Watch it when you want.
I know this is a challenge for me. Sometimes, you have to just take the leap.
How do you sign up?
The link is in the description.
Will this help someone like myself as I'm not even sure where I want to go with art? I never dreamed of doing art until I began trying art in 2020 so it hasn't been a lifelong thing for me.
I believe so. Sign up and find out!
I’m taking a risk on you Dan! Let’s go!
I’ve tried twice now to sign up for your course and it won’t let me. What should I do? Or does it mean that your class is full?
Contact us at info@sketchbookskool.com for help.
I guess I’m back to the question you raised before - too many things, too many art styles. With instagram, art galleries, public, demanding recognition for particular art style from an artist, it’s difficult to deviate beyond “here and there” experimentation.
Get those clothes on, the Emporer has finished with them😂
Birdy
Count me in please.
👍
Danny, I accidentally bought the class twice! Sally Johnson

I’m so stuck and frustrated. Maybe I should do this. My son, 28, came back and is living in my studio. He came at the beginning of June, just for a few weeks, and he’s still there. All of my art supplies, my sewing, my exercise stuff is in there. I’m supposed to be able to use it while he’s at work, but it just makes him expand his mess to block me. He’s adding a tremendous amount of drama to the household. Saturday yelled at everyone and parked so we couldn’t get our cars out. I’ve just been working in a small sketchbook with a pen. I have an A4 paper Acrylic in progress but I can’t do anything to it that I like. We finally said “out by Jan 1” but there’s no guarantee.
Hello! ❤ I am sending this comment with all the love and compassion. You're a wonderful mother for allowing your child to stay with you. HOWEVER, you don't deserve having your life uprooted or disturbed by anyone. Not even your own child. If he doesn't appreciate the sacrifice you're making, then he doesn't deserve the sacrifice you're making.
My family had to go through a drama stage with both of my brothers. They lived with my mom and acted disrespectful and uncaring towards her. The only thing that helped them change was being kicked out.
Sometimes, people need to feel the bottom of the lake to be able to bounce off of it and swim to the surface. I notice it's often true for young men.
Good luck to you and your family. I'm sending your strength. If your children are adults, you don't have to ruin your own life for them anymore because they have just as much agency in life as you do. Cheers❤
Imposter Syndrom, it's when we dont know how to believe we capable to do something as to start though the limited thoughts.
Let's BREAK this foolish syndrom, 💪, no more letting it to break the creative spirit.
Believing Is so important. I cant 😢
Compelling 😅
