How is this generation still making the same mistakes we made when we didn’t have the internet of today? They have every tip, How To, experts, and instructions they could need (for the most part) and they still just wing it. Lmao! I guess it’s just a right of passage. 😂
My theory is because some people have a natural attention to detail, and some don't. Also, some people are the type that never read instructions, while some always do. 🤷♀️
They keep misinforming each other with nonsense about purple shampoo and coconut oil. The internet just makes the lies spread faster.
@@joane24 You make a great point. I commented this more in a flippant way, it’s part of growing up, trying things on your own, but you make a solid point.

I agree, the misinformation is rampant, I mean look at HB’s reaction every time someone mentions purple shampoo or the infamous bleach, but all you need to do is search the proper things, there are plenty of legit sites, experts & accurate info online. I’m not attacking them, I can’t say that I wouldn’t be doing the same or listen to my friend instead of taking the time, it just seems crazy because there’s endless info & we just had the pamphlet that came with the dye. Now I spend so much time researching things, it’s become a hobby in itself.
I always marvel at people who buy the little manic panic bleach kits and think one of those little things will bleach a whole head.
My head is buzzed so it really would cover my whole head but I would waste like 2/3 of it so it's more optimal to buy powdered bleach and developer either way since you're either wasting product or the product doesn't come with enough.
I actually bleached my whole head with thoose kits. I wanted a few highlights and then next time I wanted a few more. And I ended up platinum.😀 Blessed to be my unkillable hair.
It's always the people that have super long, thick hair too lol!
@@republican4u2nv78 of course, it's always the people with super thick hair that is also down to their waist who buy one box when it would be so much cheaper to buy the powdered bleach and developer in bulk
@@lizstyla88 Right lol! They all say the same thing before even opening the tiniest box... "I sure hope this is enough!" and it should be very clear it won't do even half of their hair properly bahaha!
I like how she immediatly pointed out what she did wrong and also actually found out what the mistake was! She's really intelligent and not overplaying it, and that's so refreshing! I also like her voice, it's nice listening to. Her hair looked actually really cute with the hairband. She's lucky to have these curls!! 😍☺

I started working at a place that sells a lot of these hair products about 8 months ago. Since then I have tried a lot of things on my hair with the help of yours and many others' videos I have managed to do bleach baths for the first and 4th times :) and had access to professional products as well. So I have done semi permanent, permanent and now demi permanent its a lot of fun. I also have managed to not kill my hair :) Thank you for all you do for us who are new to the hair color and care world.

I went to a q&a session with james marsden (spike from buffy the vampire slayer) at a comic con. I asked if he'd had any issues bleaching his hair so white for so many seasons. He said he actually ended up with sores on his scalp from it.
When you start to rub your head I know it's all down hill from there 😂
As someone with alopecia it really saddens me people don't take their hair seriously. I love your reaction. it's just not hair :(

It's not just hair, I agree! Hair is everything as long as you have hair, it doesn't matter what color or texture! But thank god with have wigs for the less fortunate of us.

It was really fun seeing pictures of you when younger with a perm and a little older with whiteish hair. It would be a real trip to see more pix of you when you did your own hair. Not many people look good bald, but you do, plus "No hair, no bad hair days!" I shaved my head before Covid regularly, but let it grow. Now it's down my back. Wash and wear hair is great!
This young lady was so sweet to listen to and her hair is not the worst I have ever seen. Maybe not for you HB, but thankfully for her, it is just hair.

I used to be a hairdresser and it always kills me when people think a little teeny small amount of bleach will do all of their hair. Also I really hate it when they take a brush and just rip through their hair. Buy a friggen come for goodness sake.

I have mostly white hair, so a silvery grey head of hair. I like using bright, "UN-natural" colours. Manic Panic and Shrime are the only two products that actually give my hair a good colour. Most of the others don't take on white hair.
Thanks for this advice! Started going grey at 16 (still getting there at 40) and I’ve given up years ago at attempting to cover it because it didn’t last longer than a week even if I spent a fortune at the salon!
You should try the Joico direct dyes! They’re bold and are good at covering grays. They’re semi permanent, too.
@@TheNerdyVixen in the UK, have ne er seen Joico, but, like I said, I go for UN-natural colours rather than natural.
@@TheNerdyVixen thanks for the advice, I’ll have to look if I can get Joico colours here. I know I’ve used their shampoo/conditioners etc so it’s definitely a possibility.

Not just a professional, a specialist. You can go to a salon and ask for a colorist whose whole job there is to bleach, color, tone\highlight, and integrity checks.

Hahaha she was hilarious. In love how she took the mick out her self too and didn’t take it too seriously. Hair Buddha you need to laugh more and not take it so seriously. If they want to do that to their hair and are ok with, don’t worry. We all make choices, hair grows back. It’s meant to me fun and a form of self expression. She knew she was failing miserably but kept going😅. You’re face is so serious when watching like a disappointed father! Chill, relax 😂😂
I went to cosmetology school 35 years ago. I don't work in that field any longer, I still do mine and my family's hair. I did not specialize in bleaching. I was terrified of it. But the way you explain things has truly helped me to learn. I have learnt better from you than I did in school. Thank you so much for your videos. My love to you and your family.

I did my hair manic panic red once, NEVER AGAIN.
The metallic salts kept that red in my hair ends until I grew them out and cut it from trimming eventually.
The red washed out everytime I washed it, I eventually got it bleached but my stylist had to work with what we had, she got it blonde but the ends weren't even but it was good enough, we put fiery coral on the ends, I loved it.😍
I didn't think Manic Panic had metallic salts.
@@AutumnFalls89 I don't know for sure, but I do remember my stylist calling her Matrix rep. and him saying that. I think I googled some fourms at the time about people saying the same thing. But mind you this was 10 years ago too🤷♀️
When you have thick or long hair always buy 2 or 3 bleach kits same for dye

Best advice I've gotten from HB is the bleach wash. It took that final color out of my kids crazy hair colors without the full blown effects of reapplying a headful of full bleach.

I am going to a very special occasion, and I haven’t done my hair in forever. I’m wearing a red dress, which I’ve never worn before. So I’m going to the salon to have my hair done. I have learned from other people‘s mistakes, and thank you very much! I’ll let y’all know how it turns out.

Thank you so much for all the wonderful tips!! What would you recommend to fill porosity? I have damaged porous ends and healthy roots, but I want to apply a tint using direct pigments.
I didn’t know that MP even had lift kits. I just get the color tub and do a layover after covering the grey with dark brown (rinse, no lift). It just gives it a nice tint.
What I have learned from your videos save up my money and go to a professional to get my hair colored. Hair coloring is not a do-it-myself type of job. So thank you.

End result was surprisingly good
I used to use the Manic Panic bleach kits, luckily I have shorter (and fine) hair and the kit was enough for me. I left it on longer than she did, it usually got my hair a very light yellow within 30 min.

I’m not getting MY hair bleached anymore for a WHILE! I already destroyed my hair by getting highlighting over highlights, etc. So I’d rather have white/ brownish roots & healthy hair. I’m really worried about her hair! And she doesn’t seem to care… but she’s young!

People struggle to dye their hair grey so I'm surprised to see it. I think it looks really pretty. I was expecting something more green.😯

Those packages.... Come with a squeeze bottle that says, "shampoo in" and when you shampoo it in.... this is what you get.
When I was in my early twenties I used one of those at home highlighting kits with the cap. It wasn't a total disaster. I learned a valuable lesson. Always let a professional work with your hair. I have no idea what I am doing.
If you were a superhero you would be Fine Sections Man. You would appear outside bathroom windows shouting "FINE SECTIONS!!!!"

Hi hair buddha, what do you think of the K18 hairscience molecular repair hair mask?
I get it though. There’s a period of time during an at home bleaching session when you have to force yourself to not rinse. Partly because of the fear of breakage and partly because your hair always looks way lighter before you rinse, even if you scrape off the bleach to check it still looks lighter than it actually is.
The last girl was actually sectioning really well.... I mean compared to the people in all the Hair Buddha videos I've watched. 😂 No really she did a good job sectioning. At least she was thinking about what she was doing.

Having hair that grows fast, I agree that it is indeed just hair!
