@@michaelmurdock4607I live in Philly and it's cold as all hell right now. I got a $80 pair of heated gloves from Amazon and they work great and I'm 3 winters in with them and they are still working great.
If you're wearing high-top shoes or boots and you've got long socks, then you can also roll your socks down over top of your laces to pin them in place. That's what I used to do before I got a pair of zip-up riding shoes.
Water has never hit my bike while cleaning it. I use spray Carnauba wax; it takes the bugs right off the fenders/windshield and cleans everything else with just going over with a clean microfiber cloth. Dirt, dust, bugs etc. are easy to wipe off because of the wax, they don't really adhere to the surfaces.
I got a nice hack, adding a rear rack and a 65 L locking waterproof box that definitely helps with the storage. It’s a small trunk. I mean, I have to have a trunk on the motorcycle because I use it for almost everything and when I do wear a backpack all the weight from the backpack rests on top of the box so I don’t have to hold the backpack up. I just put the straps on so it won’t fly off the back of it.
There latex glove, doesn’t really work if it’s cold it will lock in moisture, so hand wet and cold. Carry inner gloves, merino wool roll up almost as small.
Yep, tried this and it didn’t work. Your hands will not be able to breathe in latex gloves so will always feel damp in the end. Also the outer leather glove will still get soaked and with the wind chill your hands will be cold. At a push diesel gloves from your local petrol station over your leather ones work better 👍
The need to not scratch a bike in this video is a bit crazy :D They are meant to be used and enjoyed. Yes, a big scratch would be annoying if bike is brand new, but all of them get plenty of scratches anyway, from gloves, zippers, etc.
The heated gloves are expensive as hell. I was considering buying a pair (to retire my 11 year old Alpinestar Arctic), but the 280€ tag made me go for a regular pair of winter, waterproof with Primaloft layer pair, for only 61€ (GARIBALDI SAFETY PRIMALOFt). So far, so good.
They certainly do help, but to keep in mind, is that you do have a wet and cold glove on top of them which is still going to make your hands cold. Additionally, they lock in moisture, and your hands will look and feel like after a 2 hour long soak in a bathtub even though the rain doesn't technically "touch" your hands.
I tried the latex gloves with same idea but didnt work well. Because of moisture buildup under non breathable latex gloves my fingers felt really cold at bellow 10degrees C. I got better results with my wifes winter cotton gloves that I put under summer moto gloves. Much warmer sensation.
I've had 3 crashes '80 alcohol, '95 alcohol, '16 pickup truck playing nascar........all 3 wearing regular shoes, 3rd wreck totally ruined 1 shoe, foot not damaged, other 2 feet shoes not damaged Never had shoelaces or pants catch footpeg, '75 had bell bottom pants get caught in chain, never wore bell bottom pants on bike again Many yrs ago my wife got suspenders, cut and sew, and I got a pair of stirrups to hold pant legs down in cooler weather....... don't need them bikes with wayback pegs(Versys V-Rod XR1200) For 10yrs in the Army I tucked laces, not uncomfortable Stored inside sheet(it's amazing the amount of dust you'll get in a couple of months, and it must be washed off), outside sheet then cover
LOL I roll my jeans up and they get hung on the peg scrapers. you say 'decent boots' but they're all so narrow someone with a foot shaped foot that isn't ruined from narrow toe shoes will be miserable wearing them. Thankfully icon had some wide front riding sneakers.
Not a good idea to park your bike nose in to the kerb always go ass in. also if you have to park on a forward slope keep bike in gear till it stops moving then put sidestand down.
I think the two bucket method makes no sense. If you’re worried about scratches, just have one clean bucket and throw many microfiber mitts in it. Take a mitt, wash a part of the bike or car, and throw that mitt into the washing machine. Grab the next mitt and repeat.
General rule i was taught: dress for 20 degrees below the current temp. If its 50 dress for 30 etc

What about 20 kelvin?

A nice feature of the cardboard trick is you can hit the bolt heads with a quick paint job while they are resting in the cardboard.

Good Intel on the latex gloves. Putting some in my saddle bag now. Thanks

I use the latex gloves inside in the rain. Works a treat.
Quite clever hints M8. Good video 👌
Nice, thanks!
Thai solution for the lace problem: beach slippers don't have any. :)
Just came across your channel bro and must say am in love with your honda 400 what a bike👍
Been telling people about latex gloves for years. My commute is short enough helps a lot. Still going to get cold if out there awhile.
Keep up the good work!
Thank you 🙏
INSANEly helpful!
Thank you 🙏
What bike do you have? love the grey
I do the glove hack in the winter for work
I run crash bars on all my motorcycles.
Is that a VFR 400 with a fairing kit ?
Edit: Just watch your other videos, it is a VFR.
Looks so good.
Thank you man, she’s my pride and joy!

Gaerne generally run wider.
A hand-shaped foot is worse. Lol

Wherever youre riding looks like paradise. V jealous
Nope. I’ve NEVER cleaned my bikes, only ‘removed’ heavy mud on occasion with a pressure washer. Not in the game for fanboy photos.
I let G - O - D wash my bike -- rain that is.

Wearing protective gear is hardly a hack
No such thing as a "hack" when it comes to motorcycling.
Theyre not hacks if theyre common sense
