    He has installed the bearing upside down. The magnetic encoder (black ring) MUST go to the inside of the hub. If it is not the abs/wheel speed sensor will nlwork properly and will constantly throw codes. Otherwise great video! Keep up the good work.

      I watched the video three times, actually he did put the encoder ring (not shiny magnet) inside of the hub assembly.
      The little bit darker ring on the other side of the bearing assembly is seal that is made of pressed metal and shines too but little less and looks darker, but it is not the magnet. also the new bearing supplied clearly states in packaging and leaflet that other side is magnetic and how to install and has plastic cover for the magnet side wich says magnetic install with care, if you cant make difference in magnetic and non magnetic side and cant read this job is not not for you.

    The sizes of the tools would have been handy. Probably a lot of people don't have that big one for a hub nut.

    • @autodocuk
      @autodocuk  3 роки тому

      The mechanic used a FORCE 32mm head to unscrew the hub nut.

    When your front wheel bearing is bad and every parts store only has the whole steering knuckle because they want to drain every penny out of you

    This is the same size bearing for the Chrysler 200? Have the hub assembly and press at work. Full time European mechanic. Would rather not pay 160$ for a complete assembly when the bearing can just be pressed out if possible. The rear of the assembly looks as if it may be welded though.

      its actually a difficult job, and harder when the vehicle isn't brand new underneath like every car thats actually on the road.

      You’re also paying for the tooling, experience and labor. They usually call for about 3.1 book time.

    • @autodocuk
      @autodocuk  5 років тому +1

      Thank you for your feedback! It was replaced due to the wearing, the bearing had a large play and , when moving, one could hear some kind of scraping sound. Best regards, Autodoc.
