Which musicians feel so utterly human? For better or worse, and sometimes to tragic ends.
In the abandoned storefronts and overflowing bins of Alternative Rock, Dream Pop, Psych, Indie Music, Lo-fi and Post-Punk Revival... (can't forget about Shoegaze.) Mark Linkous and Sparklehorse are a north star for so many.
He lyrically and vocally devastated me and so many of your favourites as well. If you don't know him, I'm excited to hear what you feel when you listen to him.
Searching, ultimately in vain, for the light in the darkness.

Thank you George. My good friend died by suicide in 2010 also. He was schizophrenic and when he went off his meds he believed the 4 Horsemen were coming. He shot his Mother and then himself. He also was a beautiful musician Rest in eternal peace Gerrit Swart

I don't recall the band Sparklehorse from the 90's. But I will definitely check them out because you recommended them. Your vast knowledge of music is something that I aspire to. I used to watch you on The Hour and I love your interviewing style. Two of my all-time fave shows were Laura Jane Grace and Gord Downie. Be Good to Each Other and Treat People with Kindness.
