    At 10:20 the cause of that color change is titanium. Titanium changes color at high temperatures. I took this definition from web "As the thickness of oxide varies, so will color. Oxides form naturally on titanium leaving the metal a gray color, but applied heat and or electrochemical treatment will increase the oxide thickness to produce a spectrum of color similar to a rainbow. This same filtering effect can be seen in colors on soap bubbles." You can also can check heat coloring titanium topic. Nice paint btw

    Anyone who says you can't do landing gear needs to watch this video. The detail you put in the wheels is amazing. What I have learned from you in watching these videos is that the subtle details, like the "tire tread" add to the overall realism of the model. You have a trained hand to add these subtleties without going overboard. I think that is the challenge, knowing when to stop. Thanks again for another great video about an awesome airplane!

    It looks really great. Where do you get the film that you used for masking the camouflage?

      Hey Stephen, Here’s a link where I got mine. It’s called Oramask 810 or 810s. I think the only difference between the regular and S version is that the S uses a solvent based adhesive. I accidentally ordered the S version and feared it might effect my paint but it doesn’t.

    Three comments my friend:
    1. You are a brilliant model craftsman!
    2. You get up way too early!
    3. You love coffee waaayyy to much!
    I appreciate the fine details you put into the F-15. It was a great airplane, easy to fly, incredibly overpowered and easily overcame anything the Soviet Union had. The Mig-25 was a fast airplane with a powerful engine but glass tube avionics and radar! The airplanes I started out flying are beer cans now or mounted on a stick in a park somewhere. Again, my friend, beautiful work!

    Hi sir! Awesome video. I actually have a picture of a modern f-15c. I took a picture of it on a cloudy day. Cool thing about it is the f-15c paint kinda looks as if there is some lavender mixed with the blue grey color. Every air force aircraft I've seen, the colors look different under certain weather changes it seems. Example...travis afb, when it's an overcast the c-5m super galaxy grey paint looks like a darker grey as apposed to a calm sunny day whereas the grey looks a bit lighter with a bluish grey tint to it. So to me it's kinda hard to actually replicate the actual aircraft paint schemes. Awesome job by the way and thank you for the video

    I had that problem with my revell canopy to the fuselage on my f-15c all I did was sand it down. When I was finished I compared the finished look to some real photos I've taken. And to be honest with you it turned out perfect. My sanding job matches the real thing and I didn't even lose any shape. I just won't display it with the canopy open due to the fact that when I sanded it down it also thinned the back part of the canopy. So in other words...it looks perfect closed.

    Surely there has to be an easier way to do the camo? Can I buy a stencil somewhere?

    • @seanerk5kt9
      @seanerk5kt9  4 роки тому

      Probably. You could use blue tack and mask off that way or just freehand it if you’re feelin saucy.
