"My English is okay but I still can't speak fluently" - So you can speak English somewhat, but you want to be more fluent, you want to go to the next level. You want to speak in flow. You want people to say good things about your speaking style. First of all congrats. Millions of people want to reach your level. But I salute your desire and determination to reach the next level.
Now most people will do fine with ‘okay’ English.. But since you want to reach the next level, listen to the following tips and techniques carefully:
Some likely problems/opportunities for you to improve upon:
- You're probably not thinking in English. You might still be translating a lot.
- Maybe you’re conscious of fumbling or making mistakes or being perfect. This consciousness itself is becoming a deterrent
- Unlearning: Have you seen people overusing words like ‘basically’, ‘you know’, ‘like’? Maybe you do that too. Maybe you do that by using some other filler words. You might be doing this without thinking. Using such words becomes a habit. Gotta break such a habit if you have one.
- Make more and more phrases automatic. Like reflexes.
- Mistake of using very very limited set of phrases and words
- Slow down and take pauses: speaking slowly can help with clarity and give the speaker more time to think about the right words to use.
Some activities
- Read aloud: read English texts aloud to practice pronunciation, pacing, and expression.
- Join conversation groups or clubs
- Record your speech
- Do pro-active practice for practice’s sake
speaking to myself helps me alot to improve my english as welk as communication skills

The best ideas that make me learn or speak English is listening to someone who speaks English fluently and that makes me challenging that he or she is taking in English so well that I get encouragement that I can also speak English well so I start practicing in English and also learn every thing from your videos
I try to speak for 5-10 minutes a day by recording myself in front of the camera... That helps to overcome social anxiety and improve my way of talking 💬.

👍today I saw this video! Looks like it’s a month old. But excellent description, the childhood story you mentioned ( only curtain on the bathroom- still you were happy ! ) I agree 101%. Anyway in your time you had advanced social media and you were able to take advantage of that- unfortunately I was not luck in my days , on the other hand I had the same hobbies and interests you mentioned in your video!!!
I left India around early 1990’s and till than I was called as Mr walking dictionary amongst my friends and associates. Well after I left India- don’t even ask me about English!!😊

I always use this method from the childhood: When I'm alone at home, I just create some fake scenarios in my head and act it out, and the interesting part is this that all the dialougues(instantly self made, whatever comes in my mind according to my self made fake scenario) I speak in English. Well, actually nobody told me that to practice english like this way, or I haven't seen this type of method in internet or anywhere also, but idk why somehow I REALLY ENJOY THE PROCESS. I superly enjoy learning new things especially when it is about one of my fav subject ENGLISH.
Lastly, THANK YOU Aleena Didi for teaching us so friendly, understanding our problems and solve them. I love your contents.
