    Mr. Tu Lam “RONIN TACTICS” recommended the ESD SLING. I ended up purchasing 2 and let me tell you I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. It’s crazy light and strong as hell. But the main reason why I purchased it is because it’s made in the USA. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

    I just started using this sling I like the fact you have many different color patterns, the AOR1 pattern is very nice and looks great. The design is nice, simple, and I like the included elastic for storage so you can deploy the sling rapidly via pull tab. I have Vickers blue force gear slings, Travis Haleys sling, and Viking tactics Vtac, by far my top 2 slings are your sling(ESD) and the Blue force gear. my favorite slings.

    The ability of the sling to be snug up against the weapon is unlike any other 'tactical' sling I have seen. That's a real game changer because any loop or slack in the sling is a real detriment to anything it can snag on. This gives the ESD sling the ability to mimic a non-tactical sling, like the WW2 British Enfield sling, which has an infinite range of adjustment from totally slack/loose to totally snug with all the slack taken out of it.

    Love this sling. It is well made and well thought out. Thanks for not using a metal glide. This is my go to sling for a non padded sling. I run the ES on my go rifle. The only sling I like equally that is padded is the TRex Arms sling. I do not like the bulk of the blue force gear sling. The Slingsters metal glide sucks. The Slingsters metal buckle causes the sling to hang low and tight to the body when fully extended. I’ve never had a sling hang up on my belts the way the Slingsters does. I don’t know how people aren’t having more issue running belts. Mine always hung up under my mag carriers when I raised the rifle. It would hang 1 out of every 2 times I raised the rifle. Never had that issue with other slings.

    Great sling system and video is well done tutorial/instruction wise. Im a weird-o i guess as wasting so much paracord drives me nuts. Just pull one end of cord thru more so that not is still solid but you have a very long tail and much shorter tail so when you cut the long side off its still usable on the other end or for another project! LOL! Ya i know...not sure where it comes from but i notice stuff like that . Great sling and solid how to video,

    Looks like a really nice sling but I prefer the pull tab style that the Ferro Concepts Slingster uses. On the ESD, not only is the end of the tab a loop which can snag, but the base of it is also a loop (see the @2:00 mark). That's multiple snag points. I understand you can break it if you need to, but why not just avoid the problem of snagging in the first place? It might take a few seconds to realize you are hung up on a snag, then you have to force it off and break it once you realize you're snagged. Why not just avoid all that in the first place? The gen 1 Ferro Concepts Slingster had a similar loop on previous generations, but they changed the design on the later gen slings to avoid snagging from get-go.

    • @edgarshermandesign
      @edgarshermandesign  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Josh, thanks for the good questions! We designed it in this fashion for a few reasons, the first reason is that we wanted these pull tabs to be used for more than just rifle slings and to have a longer lifespan than something proprietary. Our pull tabs are used on Winter jackets, backpacks, Tents, pouches, etc. Because of the loop design, you can now attach this product to just about any zipper and most hardware. This is also important when it comes to the lifespan of a product regarding variations and updates. If and when we eventually upgrade the sling because we've found new ways to improve upon our existing design this loop system will allow us to be more creative in our development and not render pull tabs irrelevant for said application. This loop-over design is also important because it means you don't need any tools to maintain or mount our pull tab. If one breaks or you want to swap colors you can do so in the field with no tools necessary. Regarding the why behind having a hole in the main body of the pull tab being a snag hazard, we have found that out of the tens of thousands of slings sold we have only had less than five accounts of the product snagging. In all situations that we are aware of the pull tabs broke when they needed to and the design worked as intended. The main reason we added this hole in the main body is actually twofold. For one, we found that a lot of people make adjustments with their sling by grabbing the pull tab in its entirety but also by looping their thumb through the pull tab. This isn't always during on-the-fly rapid adjustments but more subtle small adjustments. Also in the injection molding process having large bodies of material can often cause deformation and inconsistencies so when we tested ideations and iterations of said concepts and we're not seeing as positive results knowing the challenges for molding also helped solidify our final result. I encourage you to get out and try our pull tabs and sling. We are pretty confident that the risk of a snag is extremely low and that the functionality of our mechanism compared to any cam buckles takes the win! I hope this helps explain the why behind our design!
      Best,
      -Edgar

    20:55 Unfortunately, importers and U.S. manufacturers seem to provide only 'classic' or legacy Kalashnikovs and not anything 2nd, 3rd or current generation which has full modularity end user-adaptability built in. On those, like the AK-12, you have an AR-15 style telescoping stock (which also folds, unlike the AR) and can put any number of accessories (lights, scopes) on in any location you want.

      Fun fact, you can actually flip our slings front adjustment and have it move that way as well! When I prototyped the original design 6 years ago that's how I had it set up. The main reason we don't have it that way from the start is that it limits what connections you use and the majority of our users have to do a lot of hands-on work. IE climbing ladders, working medical, going hands-on with an individual, etc. When set up in the reverse throw it takes a little more effort for it to be tightened. If you care primarily about loosening the sling when moving your hand to the rail then just flip the quick adjust!

    What size QD swivels do you use? 1” or 1.25”?

    • @edgarshermandesign
      @edgarshermandesign  Рік тому

      Both will work however we use and sell the 1.25" as the webbing won't curve in the corners from the swivel's internal radius. You won't go wrong, either way, only other factor id look into is where you mount your rear QD swivel and how large the space around the swivel is. Some stocks don't allow for larger swivels and using a D ring-shaped 1" swivel may be necessary. Hope this helps!

    • @edgarshermandesign
      @edgarshermandesign  Рік тому +1

      Thank you for leaving a comment! After speaking with end-users we decided it would be best not to have any elasticity. The reason being that an elastic sling would be harder to keep close to the body because it would be swinging around more and it could bounce up and into your face if you were running. With an elastic system it would be less effective to use the sling for tension when you need to make a precise shot. The work around is that our easy to use quick adjust can give you that extra length at a moments notice should you need it, but keeps the sling compact when you don't.
